I rewrote my original reponse to the American Heart Association's email and posted to my blog. Here's a Digg.

American Heart Association Prevents Smoking Abstinence

After clicking the link above, you can scoll down and leave Digg comments right away. If you want to read the story first, you can also use the Add a comment link on the Digg toolbar displayed on the story page. Digg counts the number of comments when it is calculating whether to move the story up in the list of Top Stories.

You're welcome to leave comments on the Blog page as well, but remember that they don't show up until after I moderate them.

Update:

I just received a snail mail response to the above letter, signed by Nancy Brown, Chief Executive Officer. Guess what! It is (I kid you not) word for word the same as the email message that I wrote to them about. Word for word!

Duh! Why is it that people who can't read are running major organizations and getting paid millions of dollars to do so? They should hire me to replace Nancy Brown. At least I can read, and I'd be willing to do the job right for a fraction of what she is paid.

Nice article Elaine. I posted a comment - went after the alphabet suits - I'm not sure they will post it, it's being reviewed?!?!? I'll probably be censured.

Nope, checked back, it didn't post - so many of these sites are bogus and really not worth the fr****n time. You take the time to post hopefully meaningful comments and then they don't post them.

I picture a group of people at these organizations, sitting behind a monitor, watching the forums rabidly for their own entertainment...

"Send it again, she'll get really riled up!"
"But I already sent it out twenty times this week!"
"EXACTLY! Send it again, she'll FREAK!"
"OMG I can't believe she doesn't get it yet! As if we're ever going to listen to them! What a riot!"

I'm beginning to think that the form letter is just their way of saying they're too good to respond. It's pretty damn childish, IMO.
