I bought two Joye 306A atomizers to use in my 510 to try dipping.
I bought a DSE103 atomizer to use in my RN4081 to try dipping.

The two 306A atomizers are functional, but extremely weak on vapor.
The DSE103 atomizer I still have not been able to get working properly.

So with regard to the 306A atomizers, since they are exposed I can see them, which is maybe a bad thing since I'm pretty clueless. But I notice that one side of the bridge on each of them has a sort of filmy looking web which I want to assume is wicking material leading down to the juice burner thingy.

The thing that is weird is that the OTHER side of those atomizer bridges does not have a filmy web, but instead has bunched up fibers that look kind of like they used to be a filmy web but have instead detached, got kind of burnt up a little, and curled up on themselves.

So I am wondering if this thing is supposed to have that filmy web on BOTH sides of the atomizer, and if maybe this is why they function, but the vapor is extremely weak?

As for the DSE103 atomizer, it has no filmy web thing on either side of the bridge as far as I can tell, and I'm wondering if that is why it pretty seems to not function at all?

Thanks for any help,

From all the atomizers I've seen, the steel mesh covers the entire bridge. Don't have any 103 attys though.

Have you tried the 4081 atty for dripping? I don't drip, but people seem to like the 4081 better than the 103 fro dripping, because the bridge is inside instead of exposed. I guess it must be easier to drip the juice in the hole.

I much prefer dipping an exposed bridge atomizer, you can see the liquid wicking into the atty and you would have to really work at it to flood it.

I have a couple of cheap, e-cigs that I use just for dipping and sampling and don't bother to ever put a cart in the mouth piece since the carts are so small they're worthless.

I think I paid $15 for battery and atomizer with installed cart, I already had a charger from a $20 'Healthy E-Cig' kit (the one that looks like a pack of cigs). The prices were right and they do work good for an occasional dipping session.

I've been using my RN4081 exclusively for dripping since I got the 510 model.
But my fear has been messing up the battery by dripping past the bridge or whatever.

So far I have not had that problem though, and I think I may have wasted some money by buying exposed atomizers to avoid that problem for both my RN4081 (DSE103) and my 510 (Joye 306A) which all have compatible exposed atomizers.

It's just that I'm having the atomizer problems previously noted.

Yeah, that was my intention going in.

I have a couple of cheap, e-cigs that I use just for dipping and sampling and don't bother to ever put a cart in the mouth piece since the carts are so small they're worthless.
Which is one reason I use the RN4081 for dripping, always without a cartridge.
I have ever bored out the mouthpiece for increased air flow and easier draw.

I'm just trying to figure out if I have bad atomizers with this gnarled up stuff sticking out of the atomizer bridge. I don't know anything about what an exposed atomizer should look like, so I'm just trying to find out so I can figure out what my issues are.

The E-Health (with the charger in the ciggie pack) is a M401 knock off. 401 parts will fit if needed.

Yeah, the steel mesh is fine.

What I'm wondering about is that one side of the atomizer bridge has some sort of filmy web that appears to be possibly wicking material which runs down the side. That looks like it is supposed to be there. The problem is the OTHER side of the atomizer bridge does not have that filmy web, and instead has some bunched up fibers that look kind of like they used to be a filmy web but have instead detached, got kind of burnt up a little, and curled up on themselves.

Or maybe that is just how these atomizers are made, and they are supposed to have a filmy web on one side and bunched up fibers on the other. All I know is they don't work very well at all and I was wondering if anyone knows how they are supposed to look.
