Exshaust Odor from a vape mod

Please help me, I am getting a horrid smell from my vape mod which is a geek vape mod. I have a lingering odor from my mod after smoking. I smoke food grade juice that does contain menthol and I am wondering if it's the burn off from my coils. I have another smok mod that I don't get the same problem with. I know for a fact it is from my vape mod. Am I doing something wrong? Can anyone relate? I have seen that there are people who have had the same problem but it's been so long ago that they posted. I am hoping now that it's been a while that someone figured it out by now and how to get rid of the exshaust smell that is making me sick. I am grateful I found this forum and there are others who deal with the same issue. I have even used my netti pot to clean my sinuses and it still didn't go away!

Welcome,
Please be less vague.
Which mod?
Which tank/coil/power level? -age of coil?
Do you DIY or VAPE retail juice? Nicotine level/pg-vg ratio?
Do you mtl or dtl or a combination of vape styles?

Where are you located?

Cheers
I

Sometimes tanks don't get cleaned properly at the factory and they still have oil from the manufacturing process in them. Always give new tanks a good clean.

There are lots of other possibilities though. We would need more details to help you figure it out.

Something electrical could be heating up inside the mod. Wires, connections, PCB.

Two more: does the thing taste ok? If it’s a coil problem you will taste it.
do you have facial hair? Maybe you need a shower. Wash your ‘Stash.

if you vape indoors the room you vape in will eventually smell like bad air freshener. It takes a while. Much longer than with cigarettes (they can do it in weeks), and the smell isn’t as strong or as bad. it happens though. Washing the walls usually fixes it. If there’s carpet a rug shampooer will do it. You don’t even need to use shampoo. If you’ve got a popcorn ceiling it can be an issue though. You can’t wash those. (juice is water based and there is no tar so water actually removes stuff. Unlike cigarettes). And there is of course the traditional solution for cigarette odors: paint And replace the carpet.

If it’s aftertaste it’s your flavoring.

oh, one more room option: betco push. It’s an enzyme drain cleaner. For drains it’s kind of meh, but for odors it kicks ..... It’s basically ’natures miracle’ but multiple times as potent (and cheaper) it’s so strong it will actually eat the first layer of your skin. There’s so much enzyme in it it’s milky instead of clear. you may have to go to a janitorial supply store to get it. Put it in a spray bottle and spray it around. After it dries it starts to eat hydrocarbons. I once burned a ham in a toaster oven. The smell was awful and I couldn’t get it out of my kitchen. That stuff worked though. I use it mostly for cat pee.

    Burnt wicking.
Or your coil is a mass of burnt-on crap and looks like the stove of a greasy spoon. Different flavorings do it at different rates.. I’ve got a pomegranate flavor that will do it in a day or two. That stuff is dry burn able though. They sell little wire brushes on Line for a couple buck for a bag of 10 that are also good at removing it.

You did right. Menthol can be an angel and a demon.

    Geekvape sux.

    Welcome to ecf
Didn’t used to. Time marches on though.. they may only do decent stuff if they get their design milpsec rated. The original ageis was almost milspec. Iirc the latch failed. That was the only bit though. They tried, they just failed, so it still lasted a long time. Even for people who aren’t ex-US Military it has meaning. May take longer to develop a rep but for people buying mods to last a long time it’s THE rating.

PG and VG are hygroscopic. If they leak inside the device on the electronics they will attract moisture and fry the board. They can also fry wire connections. This will create strange smells. If you pull your tank off and the 510 is full of juice, the tank needs some work. Usually O rings. Unless it's flooded, which is something I tend to do. Dripping and not paying attention. I have a friend who took part a bunch of devices that were returned under warranty. This was the number one problem. I have heard this from others as well.
