I have some Swedish Snus. No flavor, just purified tobacco. Each pouch has 6 mg of nicotine. I put 2 pouches in 6ml of PG. Let it soak overnight. I took the pouches out and the liquid is a slight honey color.
I am not sure of the concentration or how to calculate it. I dripped one drop on my ato and tried it. It seems very strong, not in taste but in nicotine.

I should flavor it and reduce the concentration and vape it.

Has anyone tried this method with unflavored Snus?

No,
BUT I will be testing when i can get my hands on them the new Camel strips currently being market tested in Cleveland, Portland and Indy.

The dissolvable products -- a pellet (Camel Orbs), a twisted stick the size of a toothpick (Camel Sticks), and a film strip for the tongue (Camel Strips), are made from finely ground flavored tobacco. The products melt in the mouth within three to 30 minutes. RJR said the Strips melt fastest, the toothpick-like Sticks dissolve in about 10 minutes, and the pellet-size Orbs last the longest.
The nicotine delivery of the products is said to be high: whereas a cigarette smoker typically takes in about 1 milligram of nicotine, the Camel Dissolvables are said to deliver about 0.6 to 3.1 mg of nicotine each.
R.J. Reynolds released Camel Orbs in the Selected Cities: at Super Speedway in Columbus, Ohio, and Indiana polis, Indiana, and the Plaid Pantry in Portland, Oregon.
Camel Sticks, flavor mellow, will be released in Spring 2009, and the Strips in the flavor fresh will be release in summer 2009. Nation Release date is undisclosed.

The Plaid Pantry on NW 23rd and Glisan is giving out free samples of the Camel Orbs. Today the clerk handed me a package of Orbs "Mellow" flavor. I had a hell-of-a time opening the damned child-proof package, let me tell you! Haven't tried one yet and may not since vaping is my delivery system of choice :D

Mostly I am curious about extracting nicotine from these. If anyone has any luck, let me know. By the way, these will retail for $5.09 for a package of 15.

I tried this some time ago. I didn't do too much with it, just filed it away for later notice. I made a thread about it, can't remember what it was called (nicotine extraction experiment maybe?). I soaked the snus is a few mls of distilled water, then mixed the extraction with VG. It gave good vapor, decent hit, and I was able to add flavoring to it. This is going to be my backup if I can no longer get my hands on juice.

WOW, I am totally amazed again. Definately gonna try this. It was mentioned already in this thread about nic strength so I have a question. I do have access to a spectophotometer (see sign on name) and was wondering what the signal would look like and if anyone could interpret the results. There must be a unique signature to nic. I will try to research but does any body have an idea? It would be great to KNOW how much nic is in a solution.

I tried dissolvables overnight without very good results. I broke up two 4mg pieces of Natural Stonewall and dropped them into a 10ml vial of liquid cooked out of pipe tobacco, with VG and alcohol added. The Stonewalls have not dissolved. Don't know why. Maybe lack of the acid that a mouth contains. They are a wet blob at the bottom of the vial. Will keep trying to get them dissolved.

No such problem with snus. Try a 16mg Thunder snus, or 17mg Odin's snus. Soaking either in tobacco juice should send nicotine into a decent range for inhaling. I plan to do that if e-liquid becomes scarce.

Hey TB, how do you know how much of the Nicotine you are leeching out? That is the only thing I haven't understood in the whole making your own nic juice thing, how do you know how much Nicotine is in a solution. I kinda don't get it. Okay, it isn't a kinda, I really don't get it at all.

So i decided to try vaping to avoid all of the chemicals in commercial tobacco and while i understand that its still better than burning these components aren't most of the chemicals still coming through in the vapor? the idea of mixing your high concentration nic juice and diluting it down to lower concentrations with different flavors makes sense but this seems kinda off to me.

Am i missing some important information in making this deduction?
