Last night I made my first attempt at extracting Marlboro Rich SNUS.I was just wanting the flavor not worried about any nic content.I used 10ml of PG with 10 little pouches of the SNUS.Stuck all of it in a glass dropper bottle stuck it in a pan of boiling water and let it cook for about 20 minutes. Then I left it in the hot water over night then this morning I did another 10 minute boil and let sit in the hot water for most of the day.Took it out after it was all cooled down smelled it and wow.It has a very chocolate/little smokey/tobacco smell to it.So I added a few drops of TA and now its amazing.I will be adding some Cuban Supreme from Totally Wicked as that's the only flavor Ive found that comes close to a analog.I will post results when Ive let it steep for a week or so.Also I did squeeze out any remaining liquid from the SNUS pouches.Just wanted to share this.

Just out of curiosity, Have you trued that method with any bulk tobacco? Like bugler or gambler or any of those?

Not yet but that is on my list of things to try.I will either get some bulk tobacco today or tomorrow. There has to be something out there that we can try to get somewhere close to a true tobacco taste.I have plenty of tobacco shops near where I live so I'm sure I can find something.

Yes, keep us posted - and look in on the sub-forum too. Maybe this thread should even be moved there so it is easier to find?

I forgot all about that and maybe a mod can move this to where it probably should be.

Shilo....I will keep it posted as it progresses and yes I forgot all about the tobacco extraction sub-forum.

Funny, I've got some Gambler soaking in pg right now. Just started yesterday so I have no idea yet what the result will be...

added: I should add though, I've done something similar with some stale Gambler I had about a year ago. Rather than throw it out I soaked in water and made a tobacco tea for my outdoor gardening....it was rich, dark...and smelled just like tobacco :)

For the past couple weeks i have been thinking about finding a way to extract the flavor out of tobacco. Ive looked around on the forum but cant find much and whether or not you get any carcinogens, tar, or nicotine while extracting with Ethanol. Ive got access to some good Southern Illinois grown tobacco, and i work in a laboratory all day with a really cool boss who wouldn't mind me using the lab for the whole process. I would really like to get some of that flavor out of the dried leaves and make some killer juice.

Have you read through the sub forum? http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/liquid-extraction-tobacco/

Promised to report back, so here it is...

Tastes awesome...if vaped straight :(

The only way I see this working for me is if I extracted the tobacco in my flavorless juice, rather than pg/vg. Diluting it down even a tiny bit equals not enough flavor.

I may be willing to do this in small amounts though just to get me through those times when my taste buds are screaming for the flavor of a real cigarette...which seems to be a lot lately :(
I. just really need a good tobacco flavor without getting a degree in chemistry first...sigh....

I got the same result more or less with the SNUS.Great smell and taste by itself but if mixed with PG/VG the taste is very, very weak.So I went and bought some Gambler Rich in a bulk size bag.Did the extraction process for that. The smell was awful but the taste was good.So I mixed it with the SNUS and tried it and it was great. Now I'm just waiting for the steeping to be done on that batch.I did add a few drops of Tobacco Absolute to the mix.
