Ouch, sounds like you might have popped the coil

I'd be really careful in going over 4.5 volts with these. They really work better at lower temperatures.
In the future, if you're
vaping along on a Vision and get dry spots the fix is simple.
Pull the cap off and put it back on.
That lets some air in, and it should go right back to making plumes of
vape almost instantly then.
What is happening is this:
The Vision actually uses your draw to pull liquid onto the atomizer. At some point a near vacume like pressure can accumulate inside the carto and it just doesn't wick as well with the vacume. If you're a fast/hard drawer, it's more common than using a slow and easy draw style.
If you're getting this terribly often, grab some tweezers or a loop of wire and pull the inside seal up just a wee bit. That will let a little air flow both ways
through the slots just over the wicks. For most of us this isn't needed, but for folks that like to suck pretty hard and fast (and there is nothing wrong with this...it's just a matter of preference) giving the carto a little extra breathing room in that seal can help. A more radical approach is to put a pin hole or two in the top soft seal (bottom side of the mouth piece).
