I have psoriasis, but am in remission and have been for quite some time. vaping didn't affect it whatsoever for me. I do know food coloring and nicotine itself can make it worse for some people. I 'cured' it through high dose UV radiation therapy in a booth, akin to a stand up tanning bed. 3 times a week for 12 months and it was gone. It suppresses the overactive cell growth. I go once a week now for maintenance. UV radiation isn't for everyone, though. It is painful- like a bad sunburn which lasts about 12 hours, but having it 3 times a week for 3 months. I know alcohol is a bad offender for those with psoriasis, so it probably won't get better if you drink, which is why I only drink on holiday...

Rsunderl , ive had psoriasis for over 30 years and like I know being a suffer we have good days and bad ones , I m careful what I eat and drink to avoid flare ups but of recent it had been under control but recently it has flared up and I had put it down to the build up of pg in my body which can accumulate over time , I know its something flaring it up because like u know its certain areas of our bodies that break out and for me it is in those areas , we know we have this for life but its controlling it and keeping off things or finding out others that give us this flare up .

Steve as you know different things affect different people , I used to go to solariums for uv treatment but because of the publisizied dangers of going in sun showers or sunbeds I don't go anymore and I very rarely drink alcohol because it is really bad for psoriasis I.lI just have to soldier on and do the best I can... Thanks

Of course, everyone is different. Medical light box therapy has very little risk of increased skin cancer. Almost none. And far less risk than topical steroids. They use a different band of uv than solariums,- narrow band UVB but I have heard on forums the UK unfortunately doesn't use light box therapy for psoriasis...

Hey Batman , I.m dissapointed now ive been on 100% vg mix now for a week and my rash hasnt cleared up yet or even showing signs of easing , now I.m thinking is it the flavour I.m using.
I use mandarin by Totally wicked been told its a water base flavour...but if it is that I have no idea what to change it too brand also...Have you any recommendations please ?

Hey mate, I wish I did -- but my DIY knowledge is very rudimentary compared to many on here who've built up anecdotes and experiences with the different flavor companies. However, I can tell you how I'd approach it to figure it out as quick as possible.

(1.) Consider taking an anti-histamine, even an OTC like benadryl. If it's an allergic reaction of some sort as opposed to something like a psoriasis flare-up that would help right away.

(2.) Stop using your flavoring. To rule things out, your options here are to vape either unflavored 100% VG, 100% PG, or a 50/50 blend. If it's the flavoring, and you try 50/50 first, you'll know you're all set. If it isn't, and it's either PG or VG, you'll add an extra step where you have to then try them individually. 100% VG is naturally sweet and will be fine, and 100% PG will have a real throat hit, but you can scale back a bit so you're at least getting enough nicotine to get by while this is sorted. If it were me, I'd probably take the risk and do unflavored 50/50, then unflavored VG, then unflavored PG.

(3.) Go into the DIY section here and elsewhere and explain clearly in the subject and title what's happening and what you're after, which is suggestions for flavorings that people who've had reactions to have switched to with no issues. Be clear that it's a rash, etc. There are other forums, both vape-related and things like this:

www . diefooddye . com/forum/

Cast a wide net. It'll not only help with the stress of what you're dealing with by giving you a sense of control, and you never know what might jig something loose or be a valuable piece of the puzzle -- as if it is the flavoring, it'd be helpful to narrow down what part of it it is.

(4.) Take the time to be nice to yourself by baking some cookies/biscuits. Remember I said this is what I'd do. I recommend oatmeal chocolate chip.

(5.) While you're doing the above, take a look at your vape gear. Has anything changed, like a new metal tank? If so, start looking at it, and consider trying a drip tip from something you know didn't cause it, or even your older tank.

(6.) There is a chance this has nothing to do with vaping at all, and is a different type of psoriasis flare-up than you're used to, stress rash, fungal, who knows. While you're doing the above, if you can, get to see a doctor. At worst he can probably give you something topical, and at best he can help get you on the right path faster.

And for what it's worth, I'm really sorry about what you're dealing with. A rash is bad enough, but around your face would really be distressing.

Sounds like you have the research under control. Hope you find the cause real soon and feel better.

That's good, I also have psoriasis, luckily I don't think I have reacted on anything vaping related, I just flare up during winter due to the dry air conditions. They are far from optimal, but I live through it with lots of skin lotion and sometimes hydrokortison/steroids to help with the worst spots. Having a face full of the stuff would not be nice at all, so I'm glad you are finally clearing up.
