That is the obvious dilemma...

I thought I was out of questions, dead wrong...

Can I put a dripping atty on there for tasting juices and just forego the squonking?

Also, what kinda ohms should I shoot for on my first build? I was thinking .8 , just estimating that I am looking for twice the vapor that I get from a 1.5 carto. I have meandered the mech and sub ohm threads and *think* I know the precautions... Protected batteries, testing the ohms first... Anything else?

Almost any dripping atty will fit, but I would go with a 19mm or less to minimize the overhang especially with a Mini. You can drip in the rm2, but the excess juice will likely go down the drain hole.

I'm not sure you're going to get twice the vapor coming from a 1.5 carto. The resistance of the coil is just one factor in producing vapor. Coil position and air flow also come in to play. I keep mine around 1 ohm, or so, it gets a little to toasty for me below that.

Toasty is all I do these days... haven't been above 1ohm in a while now. 0.3-0.4 seem to burn just fine for me :D

One would think that after smoking menthol cig's for 40 years I'd be able to "handle" - no can. I wonder if they'd let me change my username to "no can handle randal" . . .

Reo is here... About to build the RM2.

My ohm meter says its accurate to +/- 4%. This means .04 ohms, correct?

I will report on the overall reo and rba virgin experience after its up and running.

You can do some crazy builds on the Reo now but I'd suggest shooting for a 0.8-1.0 ohm micro to start with. Coil position makes a huge difference, lower relative to air hole = more throat hit, higher = less.

Ok, I'm cookin with gas now.

I have 33 g wire wrapped 6 times and 2mm silica doubled up for the wick. About 1.1 ohms on the meter. It's vaping like a champ so far. I'll say that i'm gladI got NZ bottles of my favorite NT stuff cause i'm gonna be cutting down my nic I think. Currently mixed to about 9mg but I might go down to 3.

Flavor its fantastic but I actually think the virus is a bit much for me on this setup at the moment. I popped a bottle of radio in there instead for its milder, well balanced flavor.

I am very pleased so far, thanks for all the help, everyone.

The build was a pain in the rear end in my newbie opinion. The ten wraps that I tried at first was giving me more than 2 ohms, and I broke the first coil that I liked as I tightened down the screws. building a coil drunk or with arthiritis (which I dont have, but I might after a few builds) would be damn near impossible. Looking forward to trying a few more builds and prettying up the situation inside the rm2. I'm betting I will be seeing my NT stash dwindle much faster than usual. Now its off to work my knuckles into a burning fury for a while wrapping coils!

Cheers!

Congrats on the build m8! Just south of 1ohm, level with the airhole... that's about where I like it. Since putting the rebuild kit in I might actually raise the resistance a bit though, gets plenty warm.

Thanks for the tip. What gauge wire do you like? Im also getting the impression that cotton is the most popular wick amongst the Reo crowd. I put like five builds on the rm2 yesterday. Still chasing the perfect one.

I use 30ga and currently i think i have 7 wraps(micro, single coil) coming in at 1.3ohms...I use peaches and cream yarn from wally world...2 strands folded in half through the coil, which essenctially turns it into 4 strands...fits inside the coil nicely

Current and favorite single coil build. Six wraps of twisted 28g @ ~0.4 ohms.

I use 28gu Kanthal, but 30gu might be good if you struggle bending the wires for entry (the posts of the RM2 are wide) . Wicking - cotton. Koh Gen Do or Shisheido Makeup pads.
