Fairly new, but HEAVY vapor, is the REO a good choice? Help me figure it out.

I'm about 40 days into this new life. Started with a second hand Joye 510, battery only lasted 15 minutes, cart only lasted 10 minutes, did no research, and ended up spending too much for a Joye 510 Mega kit, one for me, and one for the wife. Well then I found this site and came to my senses and bought an Ego clone, then heard about the tank system so I ordered a tank atty/carts. Loved them, and within an hour of having them ordered two kits, one for me, and one for the wife. That was over 2 weeks ago. I VAPE between 6-10ML a day.....well my poor tank attys aren't keeping up at all, and the draw/va vapor production is killing me. I finally cleaned one of my attys, and it's better. But my origional 510Mega attys still blow the tank attys away. But I'm back in the same boat. CONSTANTLY refilling. My wife is getting ...... at themamount I've spent already, so I'm looking for that holy Grail of PV's the last one I'll ever need, and I ran across a bunch of y'all in some newcomers thread, and you got me thinking, and researching. Before that I looked at the box mods and thought they were hidious, but seeing the Reo's and what they can do enough the juice bottle, wow. Then reading about others attempts at the same thing, and how the needle trick in most juice box mods just ends upnspilling the juice back into the box, and they die prematurely has me seeing the beauty in the simplicity. I've never vapid anything but my 510, and my ego batteries, and they LACK for me. I even ended up trying some LR carto's on them, and instill found them lacking. I was smoking 3-5 packsna day......so that's why I'm going througgh so much juice. What speaks to me about the Reo is the 6ML juice bottle, I think a big enough battery for me to get through a whole day, but I don't understand ALOT about them too, and I was wondering if y'all could help me with these last hurdles I have to overcome.
I had been wanting a VV mod, probably because it is the latestmand greatest toy out there, but the thought of being able to fine tune my PV to my juice/atty has me intrigued.
If not a VV, then I want something I could use as EITHER 3.7, or 5-7 volts, just by changing the battery combination. I saw some mods that had that option.
Also I still don't understand how thisnthing really works, is it like backwards dripping, instead of me putting 3-5 drops in the top of the atty, that I'm squeezing the bottle in the bottom, and it's adding the juice to the bottom of the atty?
Oh, and can someone actually buy these? All I ever see is out of stock on the page, I did just register on his site, so if I do decide to go that route, I can do the notify me thing........
I think that's it, I'm actually going tonsleep now, but will be checking the thread in the morning.
I really appreciate any, and all the help y'all can give me.
Oh one more thing. These mods do meen that I never have to worry about carts, or anything like that again correct (unless inget bored and want to put my tank atty/carts on it using a 510/510 battery extender.
That truly should be it, thanks again, and please forgive the typing errors, I'm exhausted, and typing on a on screen keyboard, I like physical ones better, but I am never in front of one anymore it seems.
Thanks y'all.
Presto.

honestly, juice fed is the way to go, no more cartos, no more carts, no topping off, just squeeze and go, i vape like a chimney and my 6ml bottle in my grand gets me through the entire day, and my batts last me almost 2 days, change the batt every morning, fill the bottle every 2 days, it has been the most hassel free vapeing i have experienced. i had a VV feeder before this one and honestly, VV is cool an all, but i set my PV to 5v and left it there forever, sometimes went to 4.67 but not that often, and a 3.7 batt with a low res atty is good enough for me. the thing that i loved about the reo was the all mechanical aspect of it, no wires to break, no electronics to go bad, and the thing is built like a tank i needed something durable and reliable. this PV in theory should last you forever as long as you can get batts, and attys. i toyed around a lot with other PV's and hands down by far, juice fed is the way to go, grab the pv and good for the day.

Hi Presto! Welcome! We too, went through what seems like everything and thousands of dollars trying to find that "grail." So I totally feel you....that and I'm the wife...who was getting irritated at how much money was going into this. Anyway...long story short....this is where I landed....and all I use. My husband as well (MX), he was 2ppd for 32 years. I was 1ppd for 25 years. MX has been smoke free for a year and its been almost 7 months for me.

So for you, I would recommend getting a Grand. The grand holds a 6ml bottle and you can use the 3.7v 18650 AW IMR battery and use a LR510 atomizer 2.0 ohm for mellow or if you're really wanting better throat hit, use 1.5 ohm. The 18650 batteries should get you through about 10ml of juice per charge...depending on how you vape. My husband is a heavy vaper and swears by this set up. No need for cartridges or cartomizers (unless you want to use them...some folks swear by them) or dripping. Though, you can drip directly in the reservoir to try new flavors without changing the bottle. It is possible to do 5v, but the batteries don't last long enough to make it worth it, IMO. You can also do 6v...but that's out of my field of experience. You are correct, it feeds the atomizer from the bottom. It really is simple and perfect...no leaks. Just please do yourself a favor, if you decide this is what will work for you, order your drip tips, atomizers, and batteries and charger BEFORE you order your REO. It will drive you nuts staring at a pv you can't use. I hope this helps.

To order, you use the notify me option to learn when they are in stock again. It will be a couple weeks yet before they are available. They're being machined right now. And by all means, feel free to post anytime. You are also welcome to PM myself or Redeyedancer (the REO guy) if you have any questions. :) Sleep well and we'll see you tomorrow.

Your story is very much like mine. I too started with Joye 510. That lasted for a few weeks then I ordered an eGo with mega carts. The eGo was a huge improvement over the 510 but I was still having to charge batterys 3 times a day and swapping and filling carts too often. It was also costly as the batteries and attys seemed fairly high in price. An atty would last me 2-3 weeks and I had a battery go bad. I knew there had to be a better way.

I had been doing some research and started looking at the bottom fed mods and I thought that for my vaping style and needs that this mods style would be the way to go. I looked over several models that were available. I was especially attracted to some wood mods but durability was large factor for me. I'm not a rich man by any means so the outlay of cash was considerable and I needed a PV that would be reliable. I would be using this devise everyday and I knew that despite my best efforts it would get dropped at some point. This brought me to the Reos. Being metal and being a fully mechanical mod played a large part in my purchasing decision.

Now my choice was between the Mini and the Grand. That was an easy choice for me. I was a 2 pack a day smoker so the Grand was ordered.

I go through about 4-5 ml on an average day. Every morning I fill the bottle and change the battery..that all I do and I am good to go all day. I use an 18650 battery and LR 306 attys. It took me all of 5 minutes to learn how to use the PV and use it well. I've had mine for over two months and have been off cigarettes for 5 months.

I've now dropped my Grand 3 times...takes a licking and keeps on ticking.

As far as variable volts I am perfectly happy not having it. I know others want it. I figure with all the battery and atty combinations that I would find something that worked for me. The nice part about the 18650 battery is all day vaping..no stopping before you leave the house and questioning if you have a spare battery, enough juice..its just out the door.

Everyone has different needs as far as vaping. One size doesn't fit all. From what you wrote I think a Reo Grand would probably be a good fit for you.

The forum here is also a great place for any trouble shooting you might have, suggestions on batterys, attys etc and it inhabited by a great group of folks that are always willing to help out. I think the enthusiasm of the group is a testament to the Reo's quality. A good PV is a very important devise when you consider it as the alternative to cigarettes..perhaps a life saver!

You've been using batterys that put out around 3.2-3.3 volts and the 18650 will put out more. The 18650 starts out at 4.2 and gradually drops off as they are being used. This higher voltage will give you a stronger hit than what you have been using. Combining this higher voltage with LR attys will give you stronger hit. You can go with attys that are 1.5, 1.8, 2.0, and 2.5 ohms so somewhere in there you'll probably find one that works for you. As a side note the attys from the eGo will not fit on the Reos because the catch cup recesses the Reos connector so the eGos attys can not be screwed on. The attys from the 510 will work though.

Best of luck in whatever you decide to do.

As far as the VV goes....ive had 2 vv devices...nice but, I found myself fiddling with it so much i never found exactly where I preferred the settings. I think the more complicated the vaping machine, the more things can go wrong with them. Sold them both and don't regret it one bit.

And, with a 510 or 306 LR atty....the Reo does the job satisfying me.

Honestly, for me.. Anything stronger than 3.7 volts screws with the flavor of the juice.

You will love the Reo...no matter which you decide on.

Best wishes on your journey.

Y'all are doing the last bit of selling me that I needed, now I just need to sell the wife on the idea..........and add it all up, but this sub forum has been part of the decision maker for me as well. Nomother mod out therenhasnthe following that this one does, sure you have the provari snobs out there, but I don't think they have a community such as this, that says ,ore for the REO then anything else does, I think one of my biggest hurdles (other then the wife) will be that I've been constantly using a lanyard, and LOVE IT. I'm never more then a few inches from my PV at any given time, on the down side I've almost dunked them in lots of unspeakable places, and the puppies REALLY want to chew on them when I bend over. I really love wearing my VAPE on a lanyard........hmmmm think I'll try to convince my wife to knit me something it can sit in maybe. She thinks the REO grand is .... ugly, he'll I really don't caremif it actually resembles a .... if it does everything people says it will do. So now I still would love to hear more opinions/suggestions. Atty combo, good places to get the combos of batteries (3.7, and 6volt would weather do a 5 volt but don't think that will happen) I did read, and comment in the what to buy sticky, and now know the batteries that I need. Just need to wait for the dollars, and for the REO to be available (I read about the paint mis hap) thank y'all so much so far, and am looking forward to more :)

Welcome to the party, Presto.

My story is the same as yours. Started with 510 kit, loved the vape, hated the inconsistency. Blew a wad of dough buying extra batteries, carts, cartomizers, etc. trying to make it work and still frustrated half the time. I learned about the Reo Grand, got in on a sale, and haven't looked back. Well, I have looked back, but just to shake my head and sigh.

Try the Reo Grand when they become available soon. If it doesn't work for you, you can sell it for pretty much what you paid for it.

I didn't totally quit smoking until I had my Grand.

pneathery, you are the vaper that the REO Grand is designed for. All day, heavy vaping, no muss or fuss. I know that you are interested in different voltages, and the REO Grand allows you the flexibility to experiment with those. First, get the basic set up. You will be astonished at how hard a true 3.7v battery with a 1.5 or 1.8 ohm atomizer hits, but if it isn't getting your sweet spot, it's easy to try the 5v or 6v batteries.

Welcome: The wife said most of what I would have said on post #3. :)

I run my Grand with a AW IMR High Drain 18650 battery using a Cisco LR 306 1.5 oHm atty. Its a bit hot for some but just the way I like it.
I am using a 100% VG juice from Avejuice.com (Havana Gold) 18mg. I was a two pack a day smoker. I go through about 6ml per day (+ or -) Pending on the stress level. The Grand is my go to all day mod. she never fails me :)

100% VG, or 100%PG! Yet another thing I hadn't thought about. I can't do either of those with my tank, and I can't get a cart to work well with 100%VG either, but sometimes I LOVE straight VG. The more y'all talk to me, the more I know. The whole different ohm attys, I hadn't thought about that either, I was thinking about taking my tank attys/carts, and using an extender plugging them pup to 6volt, thought it would either start working better (burn off everything on it) or burn it out. I end up trying the 6colt, do I need to use 3.0 ohm or greater, or will a normal 510 atty actually work (except for shortening the life if I'm not careful enough with them) I really am loving this idea more and more.
Right mow I'm at the hospital visiting my mom, and I had to bring a large plastic bag full of stuff 3 extra ego batteries, plus passthrough, 3 tank attys, only one is working somewhat ok now, one 510Mega attys, two bottles of juice, syringe to fill tanks, three extra tanks, plus extras I'm trying to convince my mom to try, shes 60+, set in her ways and there is no way in he'll that she would try it. I've been trying, she wants to go home so bad, I ask her why, and the number one answer is so she can light up, but she won't try it! My wife has made me lay off trying with her, she's border line alzheimers, in the hospital because of dehydration and way too low sodium and potassium, will prop ably be home today.
But I digress. It took my 30 minutes to get all my vaping stuff ready to go, ya I like the idea of that going away, and straight VG when I want too. Like early in the morning. My throat hurts bad, and I can only VAPE vg

pneathery, I think the regular 510 will work at 6v, but wait until someone who actually uses the set up replies. I know Technonut uses a 6v and 7.4v setup, and he uses:

6 volt - Batteries (x2) AW RCR-123 16340 LiFePO4 / Tenergy RCR123A 3.0V 900mAh Rechargeable (Purchase respective 3.0v chargers); Atomizers Standard up to 3.5 ohm attys
7.4 volt -Batteries (x2) AW IMR-16340 CR-123a 3.7v / AW ICR-123 li-ion 3.7V 750mAh Protected battery; Atomizers 4.5 up to 5.5 ohm range

Pneathery, like others have said .... just start with some good AW 18650 batts and Cisco attys.

You will be surprised at how satisfying it is at 3.7v :)

I use all of my REOs at 3.7 with Cisco Attys either 306 or 510 in both 1.5Ω and 2.0Ω
I find the 1.5 work great for tobacco flavors and the 2.0 are better for sweet flavors.

I have the batts and attys for 6v vaping right here .... used them once.
There is just no benefit IMO if you have the right 3.7v stuff.
Flavor is better at 3.7 and Battery life is way better.

People say LR attys don't last as long. Either those "people" aren't using Cisco spec attys or they are doing something wrong.
They last every bit as long as standard resistance for me.

I really enjoy Boge 2Ω cartomizers on the REOs too. The flavor is not quite as good, but 90% as good IMO.
the real plus for me is I can keep one on a week with no fussing at all.

Other people do this with attys, but I could never go more than two days on the same atty without switching and cleaning.

I have 4 REOs, and if I know I am going to be away from the house for extended time I prefer the cartomizer just because I know I cant flood it. Plus with Cartos the catch cup always stays dry for me so if I pocket it I am sure there will be no mess.

With attys I usually have a bit of juice in the catch cup that can drip if its on its side for a while.

I hope you can collect the funds and convince the wife. Start collecting supplies now and when the Grands go up for sale you will be all set. Rob ships them out super quick. Its almost impossible to get batts before the REO unless you order them first.

Good luck.

Yes standard resistance atties will work at 6v. There is also a 5v batt available here, though you'll need this charger for them.

So the Grand can do 3.7v, 5v, and 6v. That's variable enough for most lol

Personally I find LR atties at 3.7 to be the best, though everyone has their sweet spot.

PS - I've been using the same Cisco 2ohm 510 atty for 6 weeks and it's good as new.
