Fairly new, but HEAVY vapor, is the REO a good choice? Help me figure it out.

I don't think the REO will be a good choice for you. I think it will be a GREAT choice for you ;-)

If your Mrs. is a lighter vaper, she might prefer the Mini, and there are some available now. I have 2 Mini's and a Grand - I love them all, but the Mini's are my favorites. I have also had great luck with the Cisco atty's, and the Ikenvapes are also very good. If you are going to go with 306's, get some of the drip tips that Rob sells on the reosmods site - they're about a 1/4" longer than standard, and work well to keep the heat down. For chargers, the Pila is highly regarded, but a bit spendy - I've been really happy with mine. Another good alternative is an Ultrafire WF-139.

Best of luck!

She thinks the REO grand is .... ugly, he'll I really don't caremif it actually resembles a .... if it does everything people says it will do.

The photos of the REO are good, but I didn't consider it an especially handsome device... I thought I'd be hiding it away from all but my closest friends. Then I got one... now I want to show it to random strangers. It's simple design combined with the anodized finish, plus the over all solidness of it really makes it nice to look at and nice to hold. At least that's what I think.

Talked to the wife today about my new purchase.......she wasn't happy. Not in the least bit. Going to order it, if I have enough. Just wondering the difference between the woodvil, and the grand. Is it just aesthetics? Aren't they identical in what they can do. Can they both take two batteries for 6 volt vaping, if I so desire? The woodvil is hands down the best looking mod I've ever seen. It looks like somebody took the time to stand there and hand carve me out a personal vaporizer. The only problems I could see happening with the woodvil, is it would be mistaken for a device used for smoking illegal substances (at least in the state I live in, a "dugout and bat combo") and that living at the beach in the south that the humidity would cause some serious swelling issues and I couldn't open, or close the door.
But are they basically the same?

No. The Grand is all mechanical, indestructible, and has a larger battery compartment. The Woodvil is beautifully carved and hand finished, but, while well-constructed and thoughtfully designed, does have solder and wire and is designed for the AW IMR 18650.

It depends on what you want. I think the Grand is more practical, but you can't ignore the beauty of the Woodvil.

I suggest the Grand for you. You're a heavy vaper so the Mini may not be suitable (smaller bottle and battery). The Woodvil is beautiful to be sure, but delicate compared to the aluminum mods.

I own all 3, and since budget is a concern you'll likely only want 1 mod - the Grand is your best bet: big bottle, battery, aluminum body and fully mechanical so it will last years and years.

+1 Reo Grand.

Edit: Remind your angry wife (I know the feeling lol) that once you get your Grand you can sell all your other junk!

Thanks y'all. I love the beauty of the woodvil, but agree about the indestructible bit. I already told her that this will be it. Although she has heard that from me before, I think I should also tell her that I won't even look at another PV again! She asked me yesterday if I would just start looking at porn on my iPad, like most normal men! Shes a little bit tired of me going OOHH wow look at this cartomizer from ikenvape! Isn't it a beauty, I keep on telling her that I'm oohing, and ahing over boobs, and NOT atomizers/cartomizer's/batteries/REO Grand's! She doesn't believe me......
Now I tried one better then the selling off of all the crap! I told her that she would now have it all! I think that would be 6 ego style batteries, one ego passthrough, 5 tank attys, 20 tank carts, and most of the regular attys (I think we have like 8 regular atty's laying around) she wasn't too exited, oh plus 4 Joye 510Mega's and two regular 510's as well. She and I both fell off of the tank system, and hate them. But I must run the wife needs the beach, and kisses!

Hi Pneathery,

I understand your wife's position...quite understandable given the unfortunate circumstances of receiving low quality equipment for your hard earned $$$. I'm sorry you had a rough start to your vaping experience. But you know what they say, live and learn. Kudos to you both for sticking it out!

I just want to add 2 things (okay maybe 3) to the outstanding replies you have already received:

1 - Your wife thinks the Reo is ".... ugly" --I think she would agree that what is ugly is receiving low quality products that fall apart and the loss of your $$. While the look of the Reo is different, it is the highest quality vaporizer I have ever had! And you might want to show her the ReoMini, they come in great colors and look awesome! Some of them quite sexy even, go to the Reo Family Photos thread and show her the pictures -- she may come around.

Also -- some of the best selling points in my book are:

-No dripping and cleaning eliquid messes
-A state of the art unit made of aircraft aluminum, polished or brushed and colored to your liking. Also there is nothing inside the unit to cause a "user" error, no wires, or small soldered parts to worry about...
-if you like wood, it is custom, no two units are alike, truly unique with the same functionality and longevity as the aircraft aluminum.
-It doesn't look like a cigarette -- and, IMO, that is part of it's beauty. When you use a ReoMini or Grand, it looks like a high-tech inhaler of sorts, one that intrigues passersby, not one that puts them off, like the cigarette-like units.

2 - It is an investment! Yep, the Reos are not cheap -- because they are custom pieces -- but as the old saying goes, "You get what you pay for..." Get your Grand and no more dripping and filling etc... get your Reo and your 18650 batteries and you don't have to worry about recharging your batteries every 2 or three hours or between 3 and four times a day! You can use your regular 510 Cartomizers and atomizers, and others if you have the adapter....or you can try the 510 LR cartomizers -- the beauty of it is, you have a choice...and at least you will be able to use part of the stuff you still have on hand

Finally,

3a - Customer Service -- the customer service is OUTSTANDING! The creater of the units, redeyedancer here on the forum, will answer any question and invites all feedback... he wants everyone's Reos to work as well as his own because he takes great pride in his work and he goes to great lengths to help his customers, which is why many of his customers have become his friends and supporters.
3b - You have a whole community of wonderful vapers who have had similar experiences to yours who will help and answer your questions via posts or private messages -- I have only been part of the community for about a month and feel as though I have finally found a home here on ECF in the Reo community. Welcome!

Edit: Please feel free to add me as a friend :) I'd love to know what you decide for you and the Mrs. :)

Current eta for Grands is 3/20 Woodvils 3/19 http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...information-most-recent-info.html#post2799757

If you are going to order one, I suggest that you go ahead and purchase a couple of batteries and a charger now. When the sale date gets closer, the suppliers tend to sell out :)

Even though you are interested in 6v vaping, I recommend that you try the AW IMR 18650 3.7v batteries and some 1.5 ohm atomizers first. Egos are not 3.7v, they actually put out 3.2v under load. A true 3.7v set up with LR attys should put out about the same power as a 6v set-up with higher ohm attys.

I have to agree with that. The same atty hits much harder on my Grand than my eGo.

I had been thinking about that. I'm leaning towards getting some Boge cartomizer's LR, and regular. I've heard wonderful things about the cisco attys, but for eight bucks a piece, that's a little pricey, but you do get what you pay for with those I've heard. For some reason, out of all of my atomizers I use, I LOVE the 510Mega attys the best. I did order some LR carto's to try out on my ego batteries (that was before I read/heard about the mofset problems) and hated them with the ego batteries. I'm thinking I can't wait to try them on the Grand! So I have a some money coming in in the next week or so, so I can go ahead and get everything ready for the REO. So I guess my mind is made up. A REO grand for me, and all the leftover parts I have are actually going to go to my soon to be sister in law (my wife's brothers soon to be spouse) they are going to get married any day now, and proceed to try to procreate. She had cervical cancer a long time ago, and her Doc has told her that if she wants any children that she had better try NOW, before he wants to take everything out. Shes starting to get some costs and things........so she has started vaping. I have no idea what, probably some confirmed store bought thing. But either way she's about to get a full and complete kit from us!
I couldnt have quit smoking without ecigs, or without this forum, and this sub forum is even better. The following the roe's get is what sold me. Y'all are almost militant about the REO! That's a good thing. I just really hope my wife doesn't get to liking mine, she says she is perfectly happy with what she has now. Although day two of our tank attys failing to produce vapor, she went out and bought a pack of analogs and about puked! I fixed her up a regular atty/cart combo, and she's happy with the vapor, but kinda tired of constantly having to add juice.

Any atty/carto you liked on an eGo will hit better on the Grand, and the ones you didn't enjoy will likely also do better but you may still find them lacking (I don't like ANY cartos on any device lol)

With regards to your wife, mine didn't like the idea of a box mod - suit yourself I said, I'm sick of dripping and everybody LOVES this Reo thing - ordered 1 Grand. She tried it a few times and I could actually smell her jealousy despite her not wanting to admit she loved it.. Took her while but she ended up demanding a Mini.

Most of our eGo stuff went to friends and my parents, may as well (try to) save some more people.
