Hi Guys,

I received my firs starter kit - Kanger Evod 2 last Friday and have not smoked a single cigarette since. This is after I have been a two pack a day smoker for 29 years. To say that I was happy, was an understatement.

Up until this afternoon I was just happy, happy, happy vaping away. One Clearomizer had a 80PG/20VG liquid in it, the other the VG plus water from Cloud Velvet.
The first I vaped from last Friday until now with no problem, the VG based juice since last Saturday and all worked well.

Since I read that coils benefit from being changed over every couple of days and being cleaned I removed both coils yesterday, put two replacement coils in and carried on vaping. Whilst changing coils I accidentally removed one of the O rings from one of the heads (with the VG liquid inside) Now THAT does explain why this afternoon the liquid simply disappeared from the tank vaster than I had ever vaped and everything flooded.

Since this was the only liquid that I had vaped for the last 24 hours, I took the head of the other tank (which still had all O-rings) and screwed that into the VG liquid tank with a new replacement coil only to get smoke from the drip tip and a very burned taste. This left me with two more replaceable coils and since I had read somewhere that replacement coils for this kit can be hit and miss I changed to another new coil........... same problem. Really hot vape, smoke burned taste.

So not to risk it, I used the very last coil and put that back into the 80 PG/20 VG tank with the head that was intact and got exactly the same burned taste.

Of course I am now very concerned that I will grab hold of an analogue again. I have a multitude of appointments tomorrow so I cannot go searching for local vape shops. Can you guys please help me in find an easy to use (no rebuilding and tinkering) kit, that can be used with the Cloud Velvet liquid online from a supplier, who can deliver fast?

Do the Kangerteck VV kits with the Aerotank Mow work? Does an Aerotank Mini work? Was I just unlucky to get bad coils?

Thanks Guys!

Different coils have different life spans in my opinion. Ive had coils last a month and another coil last nearly a week. Do you prime and let your coils soak up the liquid before you take a puff? This is a very important part of changing coils. Also, VG liquid has a harder time soaking into the wicks since it is much thicker and will generally take longer to soak up which might be why your experiencing a burnt vape. In my opinion based on your thoughts, the Aerotank Mini would be a good step up from the Evod. I would suggest getting a higher mAh battery for longer vape time though.

Thank you Guys! What has me puzzled is that the original coils that where already installed lasted three days. This said for the first two days I mainly vaped away on the PG based liquid only changing to the VG based occasionally. For the last 24 hours I have been using the VG only as I get a tingling tongue and a cough from the PG.

I also spend all day in front of the PC and maybe, just maybe I dragged a little hard on the poor piece of kit. When I changed the coils I left them for 15 minutes before trying but............. no luck and the last coil I changed went straight into the PG based as I was running out of options and more so - coils!

I read from many people that they vape VG juice of the evod, so it cannot be that alone and I just hope that I can get a new kit and coils to me ASAP.

I have been looking into this kit: Kangertech eMow Kit
Again, I found multiple reviews on various sites that people use it for 100% VG juices but I also read that about the Evod 2!

Any help in finding a suitable kit to order ASAP would be greatly appreciated!

Susan Cloud Velvet already adds water to their VG so it is not actually 100% VG but it is free of PG. I also do not think that the VG was to blame for this alone but since I have to place an order fast I thought I ask the VG vapers if there is an easy to use kit for 100% VG. I do not mind if I have to change heads more often or if I have to invest in a stronger battery but I need somebody to make sense of it for me before I buy a kit that cannot handle, what I want to vape.

Since I started my journey it has been my Pet Peeve as none of the kits state, what kind of juice they are best used for or if they can withstand heavy vaping without running too hot which is one of the issues, that I have been having with the Evod 2! I chain smoke/vape when I am in front of the PC.

. The coils in this tank are better than the Evod 2 coils in my opinion.

I thought they use the same replacement coils since the coils where updated? I also checked and most replacement coils offered online for the Evod 2 or the aerotank mine come in 1.5 and 1.8 ohm whilst my kit was advertised as having 2.4(or.5) ohms. I guess this also makes a difference?

Should the coil resistance go down with thicker juices or up?

The coils in the Evod 2 are exposed wick (from what I looked up on google) and the aerotank coils are enclosed. The aerotank coils will fit in the Evod. With such a small hole in the aerotank coils, a thicker juice will take longer to wick. However; the aerotank coils have 2 holes on each side instead of 1 like the Evod so more juice will be able to flow. In regards to the resistance, lower ohms will heat up faster depending on your voltage setting on your eGo style battery which will cause you to go through more juice in my opinion. Before I got into sub-ohming and rebuilding, I would use an Aerotank Mega, which is just a big version of the Mini, with 1.8 ohm coils. I never really liked the 1.5s in there. The highest VG I went in the Aerotank coils was 60%. Fuzion Vapor uses a 65VG with no PG and that also works. You will not break your coils by chain vaping, but you will shorten their life span by doing so.

The Evod 2 uses the same upgraded BDC's as the Aerotank mini and also has two holes. They are also enclosed coils, so identical. I will also check out the Fuzion Vapor as that sounds interesting to me. I do not mind the added water but my tongue and throat dislike the PG.

Sorry not much help on your current issue, but maybe this will help you in the future.
When you are having wicking problems (dry hits) or priming a new coil, I found it is easiest to plug the airflow holes and give it a few strong pulls, pulling the e-liquid into the wicking material. You will learn how much to do this as time goes on, but you will likely flood it initially, which isn't a big deal either.
To clear up a flooded tank simply point the bottom of the tank in their, tilt your head back, gently cover the airflow holes with a paper towel, and blow. Inverting the tank keeps more liquid from drawing into the coil head, the paper towel is to catch juice as it vacates the coil head.

Egos have varying build qualities, honestly your best (IMO) bet is to go with a APV (advanced personal vaporizer) before spending more money on egos. I suggest the MVP2 or MVP20w. They are solid batteries that last most people a day or more. You can vape while you charge it (though that increases charging time) as long as its not completely drained. You can pick up the 20w for $30 online. It gives clearomizers better performance. Another way to improve your vape with out tinkering is pick up a nautilus tank with the bvc heads. The heads cost more than kanger's, but they also last 3 or 4 times as long. Most agree it is a spectacular vape.

Welcome Caprilli, and a big grats on kicking those nasty cigs to the curb :) it sounds to me like your just getting dry hits, i would sugest as i think someone did previos to prime the wick, you can do this by puting your finger over the air intake and take a couple light sucks, not too much tho as this may flood, happy vaping :)

Regardless of what batteries you choose, it sounds like you will need more coils for your tanks. MFS has a 40% sale going right now on all coils using code 40OFF Limit 2 packs per order. Here is the link.

I use and love my Nautilus with BVC coils. I use it on many different variable voltage / wattage mods. But, I use a 50/50 or 70/30 blend. I am more sensitive to VG than PG.

Good luck and hang in there! Like was already mentioned, get a disposable if you must to get by until you get something worked out :)
