Well, that MAY be sneaky. You got a non-joyetech battery packed in a joyetech box?
That wasn't fasttech though - was it? (that IS where this started - lol).
I've got several 510's and Egos - some Joyetech, some not. In each case I knew (because I looked carefully) which I was getting.
There MAY be a slight overall quality difference. So hard to tell though, I don't think it matters.
With other products, I'm making a judgement call:
I want a KANGER Evod, not a knockoff.
I bought DV branded, acknowledged knockoffs of the Mini Vivi Nova. A couple times.
That IS pretty random, now that I think about it.
:p
EXACTLY, Yet it came in a joyetech box! See what I am saying?

One thing that would help the vaping side of FT would be to curate all the ..... they got. I mean instead fo having like 20 starter kits with cheap batteries and awful clearos ranging from $10 to $20 they should have like five at most. 1-2 battery 2 clearo starter kits with juice for the "newbies" in 5 colors at most. 3-4 types of clearos at most, 3-4 types of tanks at most you get the drill. And don't get me started on their juice selection, their unbranded "tar oil" shouldn't be there at all for example. But what do i know, maybe they are making a huge profit having that weird selection.

Imho it would be much better for us and FT having a more focused but with enough variety selection.

"EGO" hasn't been considered a brand for a while - it MIGHT be a protected brand name were the manufacturers in the US and held more strictly to trademark laws, but there are LOT'S of different companies making batteries called Ego. If they specified that it was a Joyetech Ego and it wasn't - that would be a problem.

Actually, I think that's something FastTech does - my impression is that they seem to sell a mix of NAME-BRAND product, with pretty good quality NOT-NAME-BRAND product mixed in. And I haven't checked into the Inokin issue - but on a couple other products where I've checked, they have NOT MISREPRESENTED what they're selling.

When it said "Kanger EVOD" - it's a Kanger EVOD. And until proven guilty I plan to presume that if it was NOT a Kanger, that FastTech might still list an EVOD but wouldn't say "Kanger".

Kinda like a Kleenex or Band Aid. Both are commonly used names for similar products, but they are brand names that competitors can't use in their labeling.

I've got a bunch of non-joyetech 510's and Egos, side-by-side with Joyetechs.
Impossible to tell the difference from the finish on mine, and I have YET to have a single button pop off!
In fact, I am WAITING for a few of them to die, so I can justify getting a VAMO or something...but they're all chugging along just fine.

The only difference between the joye and knockoff egos when I used egos was the logo and the soft touch finish joye used. The buttons broke and heads popped off with the same frequency

I really like the feel of the finish though.

Vivi Nova is in EXACTLY the same situation as EGO.
The whole industry has decided somewhere along the line that what originally was one company's innovation is now a "generic" term.
Several "legitimate" vendors with names we know all make Ego products, sell Vivi Nova's, etc.
It is odd, but it seems to be "the way things work" in vaping equipment - some product names become generic, and you have to specify the brand too.

oh it doesn't have the logo? that's weird...

when i first got my (now ignored) vivi novas i was told repeatedly that they weren't genuine...the box said vivi nova by smok...apparently vision are the "real" ones LOL

Blame the guy flipping burgers for making the poor life decision. All that extra benefit would roll up into the cost of my burger.. We cannot have that now, can we?

Who else can he blame? Oh wait, we live in America - we can blame everyone else and anything else for our poor decisions. No sense owning up to it yourself when there's so many other directions to point a finger. And no, we can't have all that extra benefit rolled up into the cost of my burger; $20 Big Macs would be inexcusable.

I dunno. Sometime's I'll get the $2 burger, but a fair amount of the time, I'll get a $5 burger because it might NOT taste the same if the cook isn't getting a fair wage. If you see what I mean.
Happier, well-treated employees cooking my handling my food is worth something (though likely not more than double!).

I agree, if the 2 burgers taste the same.. I don't care if the guy flipping it has medical insurance, 401k or a fair wage.

I don't live in America, but if my $20 burger guarantees that the guy who flipped it has a decent life, a fair wage, health benefits and a retirement, like I do, then I'm OK with the price I pay. But if the burger-flipper doesn't get the benefit of any of the plus-value, then no, I'm not OK with it.

I got my NCR's from FT a few days ago, they work flawlessly.
Working flawlessly and being real are one thing.

Peace of mind is priceless...

Aside from buying American/from American vendors, and the peace of mind that comes with that...these batts. are good panny's, made in Japan.
China QC averted. Mech I just bought? American made, and solid as a rock and blinding QC/CS to cap it.

Here is the only thing that matters though, you do what you want and what makes you happy, and keeps you off the cigs.

"eGo" never was a brand, it is a style. Joyetech (and Ovale in different markets) came out with it, but it has since become genericized to mean any battery of that type.

It's not my job to ensure that the guy flipping burgers at McDonalds is getting $25/hr, benefits, 401k, etc. It is, however, my job to ensure that I do. If a decent wage and benefits and 401k's are important to you then by all means, find a job offering those. McDonalds is not a job designed for individuals looking for those things - it's an entry-level job geared more towards hiring high school kids or college kids home for summer or someone just trying to earn a couple extra bucks. It's not the type of job you go into expecting to work there for 25+ years and be making $70K with benefits and have a fat 401k built up. At least that's my thought process.

MrStik agrees with you, Train2:); just some sarcasm. Kinda had to defend the guy, just in case he's gone to bed. I know I wouldn't wanna wake up to that being misinterpreted.

i think it is an intentional "sales tool"....like having the same photo with two diff price options...have to look at the what's included portion of the description to be sure what you are getting...a lot of ppl just look at pictures.....and having that many pages/options, a lot of ppl aren't going to wade through it all or compare prices....they're just going to grab the one they want :)

Kleenex much?

Really though on topic. I buy from FT because they have some awesome deals. I know what my money goes to and I am okay with it on occasion. Not a standard practice, but every once in a while it's nice.

Now back to what I was saying before.

Chinese retailers Love to bundle stuff, very different consumer expectations in their own markets to what most of us are used to.
