My big questions are:
1) What is China going to do with all those excess Batteries they aren't letting ship?
2) What are all the workers going to do when Factories start closing from lack of orders?

You would think someone would see where things are going and fast track an alternative solution.

They ship 100% of the demand, they are just using a different (slower) means of transportation.

Thanks for the replies guys. But what about this:

http://support.fasttech.com/faq/what-items-are-restricted-or-potentially

I mean, they've got a plan in action for when batts get taken. It doesn't look like a large chance, but I'm not much for gambling.

Then again, it wouldn't be the first time I rolled the dice. It's comforting to hear that you guys don't expect a problem.

For the record, has anyone here actually had their batts from ft seized?

No just loose batteries, batteries INSIDE a container are good to go

Hmmm so maybe the plastic container that ft uses for 18650s counts as a container in the eyes of the border inspectors. It sure does make transporting them more safe.

Perhaps they're not just forcing you to buy two, but thru that are actually adding that extra later of protection. Seems doubtful but not entirely unplausable.

43 days for me.

For batteries? Not surprising.

First the package has to go through it's usual processing, then the package gets dumped into a big container destined for your country. After that it sits in said container until that container is full. After that it finally leaves for the dock where it gets to sit yet again for a boat to leave for your country. Once it leaves you get to wait god knows how long for it to reach that country then it gets to go through lovely customs and finally given to the USPS.

Haven't had batteries from FT seized but did just loose a fairly large order of LiPo batteries coming from China. All the money I saved sourcing batteries from China the past few years all gone in one shot.

Going another route now, putting together an order for a 20' sea container load of LiPo's and going to import the whole lot.

Sadly China will cut it's own throat and run buyers off to other countries. Isn't that what the us did.

Kinda not really. Considering vendors in other countries get most of their batteries from China, those batteries will just be going to wholesalers instead of individuals.

Sorry I have been around to long and watched it.

Me too, Klynn. Where (and when) I grew up, it started with boys dropping out of high school to go work in the mills to the town falling completely apart when one mill after the other closed its doors forever.

You can't really run off anywhere else because there is really nothing else.
Asia is a manufacturing powerhouse, no matter where you are in the world your batteries were almost certainly made there.

That's what I meant; batteries can almost be considered a fungible commodity in some ways; regardless of where you buy them - be it the Radio Shack down the road, Amazon, or Fasttech - they're pretty much always going to be made in the same places.

I've been waiting for something like 50 days for my Vamo (with batteries) to arrive,,,,,,,,,,I've pretty much given up hope that it will,,,,it probably got caught up in the back log,a nd they haven't found it yet,,,,,

things ARE moving faster now,,,,,,,,

that said, there are now reports of internal batteries, like egos, having problems getting through as well.

it's pretty much a crap shoot.

My advice,,,,,,,order stateside for now.
