@Bobw1951 Did that - the coloured lights flashed and it began charging (wasn't low to begin with though).
An hour later and I'm looking to see if there's any blue available - there are a few - and my eyes alighted on the words 'switch on at base'!
Light bulb moment - the drop had caused the switch to click to off! ...all happy :)

Yes - I quite like the Cool Fires - work well with the nautilus 2 at 8.5W.
I think this is the only mod I've had with a separate on/off switch.

I do have a spare one - green I think - in my stash ...if I can find it! They're all in a box somewehere!

By the way - I'm waiting for an appointment for a spirometry test with the practice nurse - doctor thinks it is allergic asthma I have, and may prescribe a preventative inhaler. (Couldn't get one myself from the online pharmacy). She knows I'm using Ventolin and is fine with that.

Hopefully not. If it starts getting any worse, give the doctor a nudge.
My doctor emailed the dermatologist I'd seen as a favour to my GE at the Nuffield - she asked for his OK to continue repeating the spray treatment I'd been given as a one off, and he said yes as long as there's a week or two gap occasionally! Fine ....solved by email  ...and I learned of it all through a 5 min phone appointment with my doctor booked online!

I saw her face to face on Thursday though about the shortness of breath.

I'm waiting to see a specialist, letter arrived the other day which basically said -
It's been six months since you were referred,do you still want an appointment.

Maybe they are hoping i can cure myself.

JUST :p

I rang the hozi, and was told it'll be upto 10 months before i even receive an appointment.
That's really disgraceful - if you need an appointment, then you should have one within a given timescale.

That's not funny the NHS is going to the dogs
Dreadful. As when my husband had been neglected by his GP, and I took it in our own hands and made an appointment myself at the Nuffield - it was BCC and he'd had it two years! It was biopsied two evenings later, and he had an appointment for the surgery three weeks after (2 weeks over Christmas got in the way!). It cost around £1500 altogether - two initial appointments in a week, and then the procedure (free after care appointments). Seeing what it was, I considered it money well spent - it wouldn't have killed him, but could have caused more serious damage. As it is, he has a 3x2" patch of grafter skin on his forehead! Should never have got past 1/4-1/2" at most, and could have been frozen off.
A friend is a practice manager, and she seemed to think he'd be lucky to get a dermatology appointment for it to be done within the year once that big!
Thankfully, that's what we saved up for - any treatment or care we may need to pay for.

Yep! Bad attitude on the phone as well Bob.Made me feel as if i'd done something wrong.
You should never get that attitude - is there an independent body you can complain to in your area?
I had a bit of rudeness when admitted to hospital and I've never forgotten it! If I hadn't been so ill for a few months, I'd have taken it further. I almost came home that night, and it was only thanks to a very good junior doctor bringing me drugs to take home that I stayed and allowed her to begin treatment. I may not have survived otherwise apparently.

Understood, and agreed with! ;)
Probably just end up getting excited and making things worse.
So, send your MP an email ...that way, you say what you want to and keep your cool :)
Or, you can go here. Probably better than your MP if he's no better than mine was (a Conservative that lost his seat this year! :() Nice chap, but didn't achieve anything to improve safety on the road beside our house.
The Clinical Commissioning is likely to do better. Hospitals and health professionals rely on them for good status reports & ratings.
Alternatively, if you're on good terms with your GP, you could lodge the complaint with him/her regarding your lack of appointment and bad attitude by the staff you spoke to.

I'll have a look at that Trish.

.

Not a great practice i'm afraid, but the others in the area are no better.
Lets just say, it's a male problem.
It is an all female GP surgery.Although they probably don't care,it's still a bit difficult on my part.Think i'll keep the hell out of the way and tread water.

GP's don't know what's wrong,so i was sent for an ultra sound. You guessed it,two young females to do the test.Nothing showing.
Hence the need to see a specialist.

I'd follow that route if I were you - they seem to forget the last word of NHS: Service. When that service is lacking, it matters.
If there's a problem, it needs investigating ...not next year, and by polite people.

I do totally understand how you feel. Most practices do have both genders for those uncomfortable. Suppose it's little comfort to you that it really doesn't matter to them whether the parts they're examining belong to male or female.
With the ultrasound, it's also very understandable. Again, there should be a choice.

Our first practice here was with a wonderful doctor - he retired and this new lot took over and it became very poor for different reasons. The receptionists were a bunch of sloppy harridans, and the GP we ended up with let us both down in different ways. Once his negligence with my husband became knowledge with the senior doctor (via reports from the Nuffield hospital), that GP took it out on both of us - he must have had a fair telling off. Only the Nurse practitioner was still there, and was the person we saw after that- she did her very best for us.
I searched for a new practice (with the kind help of a Nuffield receptionist) found we were just within the catchment area for the one we're now with, and changed. Best thing we did in 7 years with the other lot. It was only a matter of weeks before I became really ill, so I was grateful to be in such good hands for my aftercare.

We seem to find the need to be ever more vigilant and responsible for our own wellbeing - and often need to shout a bit louder in order to achieve that. Don't sit back and be fobbed off.
