Guess who's back !!!

I've had a hectic few weeks, so don't worry, I've not been abducted by Aliens or got married in Ireland

One of the blokes at work knew I used to have my own Garage business, so when his brother decided to set up his own, he asked me if I'd help him out. Turns out the brother is a great mechanic, but hopeless on the business side. So, I've been employed in an advisory role, while he got things off the ground. Ended up being a lot more involved than I thought it would be. He had already signed the lease for renting the property, but I had to help out with everything else. So now it's fully equipped with the right equipment. I set up his VAT, NI and PAYE accounts. Helped him find a couple of qualified assistant mechanics as well as a couple of trainees - some of the applicants weren't even fit to make a cup of tea, let alone work on motors . I also sorted him out with a decent Accountant and Business Bank Account.

Now it's been up and running for a week or so, I can finally step back and let him get on with it. I have been handsomely rewarded for my time though

So with all that and doing the day job as well, I've not had much chance to frequent the forums (I did join UKV a couple of weeks back, when I had a spare hour - but that's been about it.

I've had a fair bit of vapemail, while I've been AWOL.

Mainly soldering supplies and parts for making up my own Box mods. The only bit of kit, I got that's already built is the Geyscano squonker.

Put the atty it came with in the spare parts bin and modified my Mephisto dripper to make it a bottom feeder. Small bit of leakage, but at 20 watts with a 1 ohm coil, this thing is superb. Makes a big difference having VW on a squonker.

Also, I've managed to make up 4 of my very own box mods. Only 1 is totally finished, I'll see if I can get some photos uploaded

This was my first attempt. No fuses, mosfets etc. Just a basic "Altoids" style box. Just needs a couple of small "feet" on the base - cos with the lip on the lid it doesn't stand up straight.

The next attempts are a little better.

Dual parallel build in a larger 1590B Hammond box. Has Mosfet and 15K resistor for protection. This one is 99% there. I just need some larger magnets for the lid - I ran out.

Smaller 1590G enclosure. Again with mosfet and resistor, plus a voltage display. I'm just waiting for a holder for the voltage display to arrive and then I can epoxy all the parts together.

This is my most ambitious one so far. It's a bloody tight squeeze in there. 1590G box, dual 18650's, voltage display plus illuminated firing switch. Still very much a work in progress.

So as well as catching up on some TV I missed (still got another 6 days worth to go )

I've ordered some 3D printed box mod parts from France. Some 3D printed 18650 battery sleds from the USA. Also got in contact with a really nice guy in America that does some unique Box Mod Enclosures, got chatting to him on Google Hangouts to see if he'd ship to the UK. After about an hour, I managed to persuade him. So now I've got 2 unique powder coated boxes, I've not seen anything like them in the UK. The paint fades from one colour to another, I'll get some photos up if I can

You'll probably see that everyone's perhaps had a few new bits n pieces: me a Red Sigelei Mini, and two Kangxin's on the way from FT (the grey & the green) Both were available when I last looked this morning if you're still interested!

Well the speculation can now end

I'll be honest, there's a few too many pages for me to go through, about 40 or so. So, I know I've missed a lot of goodies being delivered and new juices being tried, sorry about that. I'm looking at building my own mods now, so I've not really been paying much attention to the Kangxins on FT. My wishlist is filling up with 510 connectors, switches, potentiometers and resistors now

Others will have got far more interesting things!
Had a few nice liquids - still some to try though. If anything's exceptional, one of us will no doubt mention it So far, nothing has unseated my Chefs favourites & Dragonscape.

I've had a couple of e-mails about juices while I've been away. If I remember right, cloud9 have started selling Dragonscape now, or maybe it was Spiritus - definitely a UK supplier though.

At last! After having two dud ones, it's nice to get one that not only works very well, but has a really class finish to it too.

I'm really happy with the Geyscano one I got, now I've got a decent atty on it. It's taken me a couple of days to get as far as I have with the mod making. But now I've got a better idea about what I'm doing, it should be a bit quicker

Even from the photos I can see they've got a nice finish to them. There's that many different shades of red, sometimes you just need to take a chance on ordering and hope for the best. Horrible getting dud ones though.

Yes, many shades of red, and all of them hard to photograph accurately. I need to get a new lens for my camera (unfortunately!) so when I do, I'll see if I can get a better image of it

Not sure how much control NJOY have over the price of that range - it's their collaboration of 5 different mixers from 5 different companies. Still, when there's some decent discount to be had, the Dragonscape is one that I'll buy more of for the time being ..never bought this much of anything other than Chefs, and they run into many hundreds of mls!

I missed this when you guys first went for it. Looks pretty good for the cost, especially as it comes with a bottom feeder rda. I'm tempted!
