I have a Vax carpet shampooer too - got it cheap(er) at their annual sell-off. Does a very good job. Separate clean water and liquid tanks so any spare liquid can be re-used - which is nice! I've had Dysons in the past (initially a DC-01) but they seemed to get worse imho. I have a corded hand-held dooh-dah for little jobs, a Henry for the heavy stuff and a Roomba for when I don't want to vacuum. The Roomba's name is Barry - I don't know why...:)

Think I did the same, it's 3 years old now, still cost me £150 though, only one tank though for water & liquid, and of course, you have to name the Roomba , love the video of the cat sitting on one and every time it goes near the dog, the cat biffs it on the nose.

That was my first Dyson as well, had to replace a belt on it once, it replaced one of those really old bagged cylinder type hoovers
I'd just vacuumed the day I unexpectedly got ours, but just had to try it when I got it home ...amazing! (I thought it had brought it's own dust just to impress! :D)

Do you hook the pipe/brush on that silly hook thing, when you store it away, I just leave it off, mine is in the cupboard under the stairs, I leave the flexible hose attached and wind it around the machine, the plug/cord goes back inside the machine so can't see the problem there, unless you mean you have to keep unplugging etc when you go from room to room, then yes, I agree, Never had it fall over on me. I have all the tools for the handheld, so it almost resembles the DC44 when all put together :)
No, we don't use the hook to stand the pipe upright ...we shove the machine in the cupboard and then wind the hose around and let the pipe lean against the side of the cupboard ...put the cleaning head on the top of it.
It doesn't get used much now.

Have been looking at that G-Tech Air Ram but there are mixed reviews about it, some say it's useless, others say it's great, bl***ing noisier than the Dyson though.
Going by what we've had, if you want a lighter weight cordless, the Vax Life is excellent: VAX LiFE Cordless Vacuum Cleaner U91-LF-B | VAX.co.uk
The other three more recent cordless Vax Lift ones are brilliant too, and if a heavier one isn't a problem, wait until they have a special offer deal and get the Vax Air Lift VAX Air Cordless Lift Vacuum Cleaner U85-ACLG-B | VAX Best of them all.
The other two Lift ones are good, but the Lift in the link is the best one, powerful and very versatile.
Some have 6 year guarantees, the others 2 years, and very good after sales service from them.
My favourites have been the Vax Life Black slim first cordless one, and the most recent Vax Lift lift-off one.

We had a G Tech cordless carpet sweeper ..didn't think much of it. Bit flimsy in construction.

Anyone watching The Interceptor series on BBC 1 - the building they show as their HQ is actually the Main Met forensics Lab building, which is directly opposite the Costa Coffee Roastery near Vauxhall
Does the Met still use it? ..I'm assuming the inside scenes are a set.

Yes and yes, that's why they only really show you the outside of the building, I recognised it in the first episode, the building is also where the local cop shop cars/bikes park up/fill up, used to pass it daily when I was on the trains, if you were coming up on the Windsor Lines you would stop right outside it and look down on the petrol/diesel pumps and the garage, while waiting for the signal to change from red.

Hope it arrives sooner rather than later ..or perhaps already there by now :) Hope your head feels better too!

It arrived at 3.30 Trish, took longer to unpack it than it did to get it up and running  Melon is a bit better now Thanks. It was a short lived one, started with the lightening flashes in my left eye, followed by a mind numbing Headache. Melon is still throbbing a bit, but i reckon i will be fine by tomorrow. :)

I sometimes forget to think about what the actual buildings really are in such things.
I do remember the hotel where we used to stay in Wimbledon being used in The Bill a few times.

Glad it arrived - hope it's a good buy!
Good that the migraine is subsiding - was it the travelling/cabin pressure do you think?
I've only had a handful of them in the past, and when I get them, it's usually something I wake up with that doesn't properly go until I've slept again.
I remember one that would not go no matter what I took for it. Husband went to the chemist and she gave him a pack of Co-Codamol ..I was sceptical, but it did the trick within a couple of hours.

They used the entrance to our block of maisonettes once for a graffiti scene covered a piece of the wall of the old building next door, when they finished, they painted over where they had sprayed the graffiti and we were left with this big white square, which we all thought would really attract the artists, but it never did

Speaking of trying, have you had a go at your mini vaporflask yet ?
I haven't Terry - it's still sat looking at me with no battery in it - can't be bothered with something new at the moment. No doubt I'll suddenly decide I need to know how it works etc., and here is where I'll be asking!

I'd expect them to leave it as found. No reason they couldn't have used water soluble or easily removed paint.
They must have had to seek permission, and I'd have expected that to be given on condition that it left no permanent difference.

Irrelevant now, the old building was an OAP centre used for lunches, but with the cuts was closed down, now demolished and a block of flats built in place, but it just shows how we sometimes think bad things are going to happen and they never do, to be honest the main places that do get targeted are the railway lines, railway bridges etc. in this area, oh! and maybe some of the street furniture.

It can still be used in normal power mode just like your iSticks, with a normal atty on top...

No doubt if they were given specific blank walls etc. to practice graffiti, they wouldn't use them!
Also, there's a huge difference between the scribblers and the serious graffiti art.

Yes, I suppose it can - to be honest, I've got way too many in rotation on my desk as it is! ..I really should put a few of them away (with the others)for future use :)

Went out and cut all the grass this morning.COLD!
Weather is all over the place,a week ago it was shattering windows :nah:

Surely with the TPD,it's upto each nation, how severely they implement a ban.Maybe here in the U.K it won't be so strict as in the link Trish posted.I read the other day 25% of British smokers have turned to vaping. The ban has proved a failure in Italy,if driving people back to smoking is what they had in mind.

That El cigarette company are still sending their doom & gloom emails - this is todays: UK e-cig BAN 2016 IMPORTANT!

Surely things won't grind to a halt by next May?

I would recommend to anyone not to use these companies that want to roll over and play dead before anything actually has come into force, let them go out of business the hard way, without selling off any of their stock...

There is an item in the thread about TPD on here about a court hearing in Italy where they have deemed the increase in taxation as unlawful:

I'm actually unsure on that, I know up until May each nation has the right to implement as much as they think fit, but unless the TPD is altered in anyway before May, then I think it becomes law in all EU countries, the whole thing is a minefield, just hope the TW attack on it forces the idiots to have a rethink on TPD2/20

I told the guy in the local B&M, Vapourhut(Flint).I would not be spending anymore money at his shop.
I started a conversation regarding the TPD,and he was unaware what that actually was. After i explained to him,i asked him what he was prepared to do to protect the future of his business and vaping. His answer basically said there was nothing he could do.

OK! Mate you roll over and die,I'M OFF!!
