Well, I know I said I had to be up earlier today, but hadn't expected to be woken by a lot of men dancing around banging drums for 15 minutes at 6.55am! :(

No, it wasn't a bad dream, I'm serious. There's a Muslim family three houses from us, and we've had thumping music since Friday night with many visitors arriving in large Mercedes and similar ..all night and all day, and it went quiet on Saturday night at around 1am ...then before 7am, we got a bus full of chaps arrive banging their drums in the middle of the road!
We don't live in a town centre either ...we're in a semi-rural residential area!

Then, at 11.20 tonight, they let off a lot of very loud firecrackers outside the front of their house ...we hoped the party had ended, but no, we can still hear thumping music and loud voices ....we can't understand what the neighbours are thinking, as the houses either side may also be detached, but the noise will have been dreadful.

Never mind - can only hope they all have to go back to work tomorrow!
I took advantage of having the house to myself for most of the day and did some much needed chores! ...and used plenty of Doughnut King and fresh coffee too to keep me awake!

Eid - the end of Ramadam I think, so they can now go back to eating & drinking during the day time and make a party of it.

Although i consider myself to be quite liberal Trish, all that crap should not be allowed to happen. Anyone of us doing it, and the police would have been called in, yet they can get away with it, and just play the race card if anything is said/done about it. Really Pi**es me off. :-x :nah:

Yes, that's it. Drums at dawn is going way too far for me though!

Yes, we're the same - only two kinds of people as far as we're concerned: good ones and bad ones.
I've been wondering if people are perhaps afraid to complain either directly or to the police - there are plenty of people in the area who work and also have children - they won't have enjoyed this past weekend either.
It's a fair distance to the house as it's three houses away from us, but I can hear the thumping noise in here with all doors and windows closed.
I'm still amazed that they could do that at such an ungodly hour on a Sunday morning!
I do suspect that something made them turn their music off just after 1am - but that was the second night after two days/nights of it non stop, and I think that they've been terribly inconsiderate this past three days.

I don't know about India/Pakistan, but some Arab countries even frown at a simple christian cross being worn in their countries. Also, I'll bet this weekend house party wouldn't have happened in Australia!
We don't know the people on the far side of them, but an older couple live in the house this side of them, and the husband is not in good health. Next door to us is an Asian family, but they're very quiet and pleasant people.
When we lived in town, there were quite a lot of Asian families in the area, and they were never noisy or inconsiderate ..quite the opposite. We even attended a couple of weddings, and were good friends with one couple who still call in to see us now and then. We never once encountered any fuss/noise like this has been.
I may ask the area 'noise department' if this sort of thing is allowed, and request that they prevent it happening at unsocial hours again. ...well, Ramadan happens every year!

Not much could have been done about the 06:55 wake up call as they were only 5 mins early, but Noise Patrol if you have one can be called out any time after 23:00 for loud party noise

They cannot prevent it from happening, but you can call them out when it happens

I have heard of noise restrictions at weekends and public holidays being set at after 9am. Not sure if it's this country though.
Pretty sure the fire crackers were set off at unsocial hours too.

So, after they made everyone's weekend a nightmare, the mini bus and cars have gone and peace reigns in what is usually a very quiet area ...and I'm tired - as I expect are a number of other people.
