In other news....I walked out of Specsavers £240 light this lunchtime.Thats nearly six mods :cry:

You think that's a lot, Hillary's rep came today to measure up for my Perfect Fit blinds, the deposit was almost £919, they are fitting them on the 10/09 when the other half will be due, just hope I don't kick the bucket on the operating table tomorrow :laugh:

, talking of which, I won't be on here tomorrow unless they let me go in the early evening.

Oh don't remind me - overdue an eye test and know it. I need to get the lightweight frames too, and last time was quite costly for some titanium rimless ones.
I know they're supposed to give us the prescription, but last time, I was going to order a second pair online, and when I asked she whispered that the optician doesn't like them giving the full prescription details! There was one measurement that had been left off ..but she filled it in for me. Didn't like that!
This time though, he may have to because I don't need new frames, just new lens, and he doesn't do them while you wait ...took 8 days last time. I wouldn't go again, but the eye tests are extremely good - just a tiny variation on last prescription but it made a big difference. My husband says the same when comparing to Vision Express.

Yes, the Perfect Fit ones are quite expensive, but I shouldn't need any replacements for the rest of my life "touches wooden head"

3 double windows, front room + 2 bedrooms, like in the picture, one side window, and the 2 top windows in the patio doors all with pleated blinds, the long windows at the top will be left to allow light to come in when the blinds are down, my room which is the one in the picture is having Blackout blinds because my TV is in the opposite corner and the sun shines through from about 4 pm onwards, hoping the scaffolding etc will stay up until 10/09 as that gives us some privacy at the moment:

Talking glasses, for anyone under the age of 60 and who can afford it, I really recommend laser treatment, I was 60 when I had mine done so they could only correct the short-sightedness, so I still need glasses for close up work or reading the small displays on mods, I can read a book if I hold it about a foot away, if you are younger they can do it so you will never need glasses at all.

End of block ground floor maisonette in a small block of 8 down 8 up, and I have the biggest garden of the lot, that's why I have the hoist outside it was the only one they could fit everything into (luckily I am not a gardener so it is all covered over with purple slate pieces).

EDIT: and all our front doors are round the back, there is a alley style entrance at other end of block.

When they built the new house at what is now 23 they ruined half my garden, so they compensated me by supplying a further 1 ton bag of it, because I ended up pulling it all up, relaying the weed stop and then covering it all over again, except for the bit closest to the windows because of them putting up the scaffolding again, but I think I may need another half ton to repair any damage this lot have done - will have to see once everything has been taken down. When you look at the size of the other "gardens" mine must be about 2.5 times as big.
