That may be really useful building temp mods. I'm just about if of mods that can fire that low and don't auto sense. I have to use the istick tc

I'm having awful luck building contact coils with titanium and stainless steel. I just can't seem to get them firing correctly. Spaced work fine but my contacts go up in a blazing white light if I try to sort them out (titanium) or just seem to hit leg all the time. I can't figure out why this is happening as I am building very basic contact coils around 6 wraps or so.

Maybe the wire needs to be doubled or twisted on the legs?

Any thoughts anyone ?

I tend to leave spaced for small amount of wraps and contact for larger amount, are you using a proper coil jig or just a drill bit, I find the coil jigs are better.

pulsing at too high a wattage??
I normally start low 10w, if that takes too long to get a glow then try 15w then 20w, shouldn't need to go any higher, use ceramic tipped tweezers so that you can squeeze them whilst pulsing (not firing there is a difference).

Might sound like I'm teaching you to suck eggs, but it works for me o_O

Im using a coil master type wrapper from fasttech. On kanthal coils I literally wrap the coil. Then I run a flat screwdriver to brush the coils job done. The coils it wraps are basically perfect. That's what has me stumped. When I build spaces I use a multi diameter took from fasttech the straight rid with increasing sizes. That works fine too.

I suppose I am probably pulsing too high. I guess I'm relying on temperature control to say hey don't do that and cut the power. 3/4 pulses don't really fire just warm it up while I grip with ceramic tweezers. The fourth fries the legs off the coil. Roughly speaking.

The titanium contact I just built was loaded on the DNA 200 mod and temperature control it's wouldn't work. The resistance was locked in perfectly and it made he coil glow and burn cotton right away. No find that happens every time I build a contact coil in temp control mode.

The spaced coils seems to
Produce less vapor. Which stands to reason as there's less surface area. Otherwise I wouldn't care much but as a mouth to lung vaper I tend to usually stick to low temps and need the extra vapor production.

The other was made by The Friday Morning out of Korea and was something daft like $200,shout out if you come across someone with stock Bob.I know a pile of reviewers have it at the moment so release must be due.
The first review I saw of a build station like that was something like $100-200. It was a good idea but had some flaws and was far too expensive. Pbusardo briefly reviewed it in the middle of another review.

Trisha, I would invest in a proper battery charger, easier and safer
Safer, yes probably - easier: not for me. I suppose I will at some point, but I got a 4 way extension with 2 USB ports too, and although I rarely use the USB ports on it, I have the mains outlets with 3 pin adapter plugs of 1A and 500ma just ready to plug into a mod.
For me, fiddling about with taking the back off and removing the batteries and then having to put them back in adds to the process ... got a lot of plugs and wires in here as it is, so that would only add to them.

I agree with Marcus on that, if the batteries are easily removable and especially if they are in series : always use a proper charger and buy it from somewhere like myepack not FT or eBay, there are too many fakes about.
Yes, I probably will at some point, but not keen on one yet.

If they are single batteries and you need to get a screwdriver out to remove 4 screws to take the back off to get to it, then use the USB
Don't think any of them need a screwdriver, but as I said, it would just add yet more plugs and wires in here.
Having that extension means it can sit on the floor near the computer trolley and I can easily switch the extension off if I go out ..a charger elsewhere could be forgotten.

If you haven't got one yet then until you do get one then yes 1A should be fine, it probably draws less, but eleaf tend to be good on that.
Thanks - I have 2x1A adapters, and one 500mA for the CoolFires as it said 800 or under. The 500ma one charges very quickly.

Won't be on a lot today, have to go back up the hospital this morning for a blood test to make sure kidneys okay, think that should be okay then this afternoon off up to Dulwich - to watch the local team, I've only seen the 1st out of the 3 matches we've played so far, but we haven't lost one yet, "touch wood"
Have a good day! :)

I never pulse or squeeze an Ni build, just wrap and fit, wick and juice, then test fire.
And have found spaced coils produce a better vape.

and therein lies your problem - turn temp to OFF then use low wattage to pulse as normal like kanthal, once you have them tight and glowing evenly from the centre outwards you can then turn the temp back to what is normal for you & the build, up the wattage to full 40w, wick and juice up and away you go, and then only adjust the temp not the wattage.

get to 14 or more wraps and you will need to squeeze them together just to make them fit in the atty

If you are on FB go to their main site: Vapauteur Pertuis and message them on there, that's where they were answering me

Is there a spare socket on the extension or something that can easily be moved to give you a free socket, the i2 & i4 both just use a normal figure of eight lead similar to the one on the sky box so the lead can be left in the socket permanently, and when no batteries are being charged you can just disconnect the lead from the charger, that way you can still just switch off the socket as normal.

Afaik you can't turn temp control off wih the DNA 200

Actually that's not true. I need to make a profile with it disabled. Which I'll do. By default it auto senses.

Thanks I'll try lower.

I want to contact Coil some smaller Gauge wire I have. It's just too fragile to space. Additionally with ti and ss I find that regardless of what I do temp control fails 1/4 times the coil just heats up massively with contact coils. Temp control
Works. Then it doesn't. I never have that issue with spaced coils. Temp control works like a champ

@Pictor I have an anker five port amp on demand usb charger I use to keep everything charged on my nightstand. Inexpensive and works very well.

I doubt it but has anyone ordered from vapinart here in the USA? I bought a supposedly authentic kayfun 4 oarts kit from them and there's no way the spring they sent me is gold or gold plated. It tarnished in a tanks worth of juice. Like a cheap ring from a carnival. They're not replying to my email either.

Not on FB Bob,just followed the link on his site.
I used to have FB and finished, think i'll prob start it up again.
do you use gmail, if so create a special email address for vape related stuff, then create a FB account using that email and only use FB for your vape related stuff, the rest is a pita really, I only joined to keep up with ex-workmates, as they organise parties for retirements etc, which we get invited to, any excuse for a good old drink up :)

Not a spare as I have the computer speakers in one, a USB adapter plug in the other three for charging ...I sometimes end up with three needing to be charged ...other days none or just one.
I could remove one of them and use a charger on it instead.
Just didn't see the need to buy yet another bit of electric stuff at the moment. I like to think that once in place, the batteries can be USB charged until such time as they need replacing.
If you think a charger would be better, I can get one.

@Pictor Do you know if chefs work Saturdays?
Sent them a message about an order and hoping they would get it to it before Monday but we shall see...
EDIT: Tried their number and nobody answered so assume they don't...
I think it's a case of if they need to - i.e. busy with a lot of orders to clear, or 'stuff' to make etc.
I did find Ash with the online chat available one Saturday, but can't say I've seen it since.
If they check email at weekends, they should see your message.

TBH I think it is necessary if you are now playing with dual battery mods, as a lot of them do not balance charge as they should, and dual batteries should be married together from new and charged together, once you part a married pair then they should only be used in single battery mods.
