Indeed Trish.
But what happened to the days when they put a card thru' your door, when they said they had.
We rarely had those cards then - as long as we were home, they just delivered the goods, on time and with a smile!
(Mind you, our own current long-time postman is great).

You've got me worried now,my first Higgycigs order, didn't take this long.
Hope someone isn't playing silly buggers and not only jumping the gun,but misreading any new laws.

Killer Kustard arrived today.
Can't remember exactly how long my Higgy order took - a bit longer than I expected I think.
Hope yours turns up on Monday!

Wouldn't surprise me if someone somewhere was being a Jobsworth though!

I had a nice reply from Vicky at Stash - they can't tell me any more than we already (don't) know, but she said if they do send it back to them, they'll send it right back to me. :)

Nice - but I hope this game of transatlantic Ping-Pong doesn't continue!

I've asked her if they've got any plans for either concentrates or 0mg bottles ...that's if they've managed to work out a plan yet.

ID is pretty easy these days if you have one of the new driving licence cards - credit card sized and has name, address and everything on it as well as the spooky chip stuff. Did somebody say "Hey man - that's an ID card? Like "present your papers now!"? Well, we live in troubled times and if we can get everyone to have something like this, even if they don't drive, then I'd be all for it.

Think I must get one - still have my old paper one.
I let my passport expire at least 10 years ago ..I hated flying at the best of times, and when they stopped me smoking too, I'd had enough. No desire to fly, nor travel far now either.

The driving license is a good idea!

By the way - news reports are warning of an increase, due to escalate, of smart phone/device viruses with key loggers etc. Says they'll overtake desktop & laptop viruses/scams in the coming years.
I have a Nokia Windows phone, but it hardly ever gets switched on - must find an AV for it.

Is it a legal requirement soon to have a 'proper' one? ...not sure.
I don't mind ID cards really - as long as they're not an EU directive!

Don't think I can be bothered with mine to be honest.

We get exactly the same, but don't let it bother us at all. We don't want to be contactable 24 hours per day ...don't want to prod at little screens walking down the street or eating a meal.
Our eldest said last week that we're the only people who phone his landline! I told him to make sure and keep it because I'm not paying mobile call charges! ;)

My husband couldn't get rid of his fast enough when he retired ..the crafty company said he could keep it, and he said 'no way!' (They'd have used it to call him every time they needed to know something ) - if he hadn't, I'd have taken a hammer to it!

We have one purely for the rare occasions we may need one - and only switch it on if we need to use it. Mine was last useful when I was in hospital last year - mostly for text messages (took an age for me to work out how to send one!).

It's just a PAYG one, so as long as it gets switched on and one call made every few months, the credit and number stay with me ...cheeky lot (EE/Orange) take the credit and number if it's not used - that seems so unfair, and bordering on illegal: the credit is mine and so is the phone - and the number is one I've had for around 16 years when I got the first PAYG one!

Well, what can I say? I'm old enough to think of my landline as my primary route. If anything awkward happens, that's my go-to number. I also have a chinese mobile called Cubot H1. I seldom take it out with me (I have an aversion to balls and chains) but it works really well for comms whilst having a huge battery life. It's also inexpensive. I secretly really love this phone - just don't tell anyone :) .

:laugh:No, we'll tell no-one ...looks a nice phone.

I tried an android and changed it for a Windows type - so long goes between each use of such phones, I forget what does what  ..the Windows one seems a little more intuitive.
The other one is a Doro ..even easier to use, and a neat little flip style phone.

Still prefer the normal landline phone though :)

Yes, it totally p**sed me off when they decided against the ID card, as I don't drive so it means I have to use my passport if they don't accept other forms that I might carry at all times.

This is where an optional ID card would be a good thing.

@Pictor found out what was causing my slow load up with google, I have 2 associated emails and the last update caused it to use the wrong one, now that I am back to using the right one, everything loads a lot quicker - weird o_O
Really odd - lucky you realised what it was!
I've had a bit of slowness in the past 48 hours: pages hesitating to load, emails with graphics not loading fast all the time - and I'm plugged into the test socket at the moment, so must be their side of things, not mine. Not the first time it's happened either.

It's okay having a fast connection but it is only as fast as the entire system, so if the speed of the server that is hosting the page is slow, it doesn't matter how fast/good your connection is - a lot of servers are still running Windows 95 and using outdated equipment

Perhaps some are down to that, but I mean pages I regularly visit that always load quickly - always noticeable when they suddenly start stalling.
I only have a standard ADSL2 connection ...fast enough for my needs. I had intended getting FTTC, but getting 7.5 after only getting 3.5 with TT was good enough, and I didn't bother with fibre.
