Nice rail trip on a good day, but yes, train services aren't as good as they used to be, and the journey from KX to here is fast, but getting to the Whitby line and then the Pickering one would involve too many waits & changes.

KX to Darlington not too bad, then change onto Middlesborough again not too bad, it was the bit onto Whitby for the NYMR, trying to get there and have a decent trip, look around then back to Whitby just wouldn't fit in really, think I need to come up the night before and stay overnight in Whitby to make it worthwhile.

Yes - in front of the telly. Much strong coffee and vaping needed!

We've both been and voted - the village hall was quite busy, which is a good sign.

I know I'll be tempted, but after over 3 months of staying up extra late with Sophie, it's starting to take it's toll on me, so I'd better not.
Still, I'll see some of it...probably until 3 or 4am.

Must admit, although I know we've done our best and can do no more, I do still feel a bit anxious.

If you can pick a decent couple of days, Whitby is a lovely place for a short break

True, but some would argue that without the local residents, the businesses would fail.
Whatever, the controversy ended after a while, and not everyone was against it ...suppose the objectors moved

As did much of the North - not a surprise really.
As expected, Scotland seems to be staying cosy with the EU, and Wales wants out!

What brilliant news to wake up to - sorry for anyone who didn't get what they wanted though ..it was a free vote after all (even if it didn't feel like it at times).

We took Britain back again.

I just hope the exit isn't ugly or anxious. It needs to be carried out smoothly, with a sense of order and renewal - and no arm twisting.

It was 4.15 when I got to bed - was feeling very optimistic by then, but didn't dare lose any more sleep.

Wow ! I watched it till gone 3 am and as i went to bed thought to myself, even though leave are winning now, it will be different when i get up in a few hours.
I was absolutely elated when i put the telly on at 10 AM and saw that we had indeed `Done It`My eyes were a bit blurry, and i had to look really closely at the screen, just couldn`t believe it
I know it will take time, but lets get back to being great again

Absolutely!
I went to bed thinking that even if we still lost, it would have been a close & noble fight, and one which would rattle government deeply, leaving them in no doubt as to the depth of the British people's feelings.

My husband wakes me up at 10am, and the first thing I asked was about the result ...wasn't totally surprised, but very relieved.

It's been a messy and wearisome affair, but thankful, it's over at last, and we did get what we wanted!

.....Just saw that Morgan Stanley are beginning the process of moving 2000 jobs from London, and would probably relocate them to Dublin and somewhere else. Last time I looked, Dublin was a very expensive place to be!
