I dont own a TC type mod but I've been thinking about wrapping a coil with consistently spaced coils, would it be practical to wrap a duel strand parallel coil with 28g and say 33 g wire, then while it's still on the mandrel unwind the 33g to leave the 28 g as the finished coil ?

Never tried it that way but I imagine it would work if you unwrapped the 33g carefully. Only one way to find out mate...

Interesting vape mail from FT today - a load of e-liquid by SCO. I have been vaping the cherry flavour, and am amazed at how satisfying it is - I have found that, incredibly, I am vaping less frequently. They publish their ingredients on the box:
Menthol (1%)
Vanillin (2%)
Ethyl Acetate (1%)
Rhodinol (1%)
A-terpineol (1%)
Nicotine (from Tobacco Leaf) (4%)
Tobacco Essential Oil, Virginia (3%)
Tobacco Leaf Oil (5%)
Vanilla Extract (3%)
Pure Water (3%)
Propylene Glycol (60%)

This is a thick-ish liquid and certainly delivers plenty of vapour - vaping brilliantly in my Nautilus Mini.

Very interesting liquid - and at £3.51 for 55ml a bargain to boot! :)

That recipe sounds as if it would be more of a RY4 type ? is it not "gunky" ?

Not "gunky". My nautilus mini rebels against too much vg, whereas this liquid vapes very cleanly but with a ton of vapour. Definite clean cherry flavour - not sour, but it is there.

Was watching Rip Trippers.Coil a Lemo
Think it's 10 wraps of 28g Ni on 2.5.Comes out around 0.19(..... that sounds low)

It needs to be as close to 0.1 as possible, but not below on the VF - the VS can handle 0.092 as per my previous KFL+ build - resistance with Ni-200 is totally different to kanthal builds which are normally in the 0.5 - 2.0 for rebuildables

Very nice vapemail :)

I had to do a double take with the photo though Bob. When I first glanced at it, I thought the SXK was a packet of B&H

The HotCig clone is not as well made as the Proper SXK made in collaboration with YiHi, for one thing the screen is too close to the edge, the fire button is slightly bigger & needs more pressure as well

I don't necessarily agree that it needs to be as close to 0.1 as possible, just needs to be above 0.1 to use the full 40 watts. For a 0.09 it'll still fire it but it will read "low ohms" or something if you take it to 40 watts.

Well the curse of Friday 13th struck, the machinery they wanted to use to do my procedure failed to work correctly, they've only had it a week, Siemens engineers called in and finally said it would take all day to get it back working, and because the other equipment they have is not suitable for what I had to have done, I along with another chap got kicked out and have to go back in 2 weeks time (at least with it being new there is not a great waiting list at the moment).

Better option is to use a bolt and then you only have to use the 28g, make your wraps using the thread of the bolt and then just unscrew the bolt from the coil.

I've been using a water based gloss paint for the woodwork. Never used one before. The good thing is there's hardly any smell to it, it dries really quickly and you can use water to clean out the brushes/rollers etc. The bad point is, the coverage is crap. I bought a one coat version to save time, but I'll end up doing at least two coats, it goes on really thinly even with the brush loaded up :(

Used this in one room of the house Ian.
I'll have to redo it again. It's not very hard wearing at all.If you are daft enough to touch the skirting boards with a vacuum cleaner it just peels off.
There's just no strength in the paint like the oil based product.Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but i was not impressed.

Very true Trisha. If you know you'll get stung by RM, a lot of the time it can work out cheaper.
Chef's site constantly seems to be changing. I think their doing it just to keep you on your toes
It's back now and one that had some strengths o/s is fully stocked again - things do seem to appear and disappear since they got the new site though

I know, I'm a glutton for punishment
I'm sure some wise old Sage way back had something to say about gluttony  ....Grasshopper!

All your patience has finally paid off :)
Always hard knowing about something good and not being able to say anything! I found it really well flavoured.
Seems to have been a good seller at the two outlets they have, so hopefully it'll be a popular one. I've seen it on the EU site for a while, but never seen any on the actual Zapp website.
It'll be pre-steeped too - which is why there's a gap between the batches at the moment.

Had an e-mail from 3FVape this morning saying their having problems getting stock in of the VF I ordered. So they asked me if I didn't mind upgrading to the VF with optional USB. I'll never use the USB, but if it means my order gets sent out before CNY, I don't mind upgrading.
Replied to them "Ok please upgrade it". Within 10 minutes I got the dispatch e-mail. The excitement is building
Nice! some things do work out well! :thumb:
I placed an order with Highbrow and it was picked up mid-afternoon on 10th ...it's cleared Heathrow today already! :) With luck I'll get it tomorrow, but if not, probably Monday. May depend on whether we have a postman working tomorrow!
I just ordered some more from Avant Garde - had to use the bespoke method as a lot of the VG range is o/s at the moment, and they don't do all I want in VG anyway.
Their Chocolate Doughnut is very good! Well flavoured and not overly sweet either. Think it may be my equal favourite to Mint Choc Vapetto! I'll be getting a bigger bottle when it's back in stock in the next week or so.

Have re-tried the Interstate Certified CO Star and it's not that bad - yes mild, but a nice creamy vanilla with a hint of coconut ..and of course, I can always do a bit of alchemy with it ;)

having a lazy morning today before I get the brushes out. Feel stiff as a board today for some strange reason.
Not used to the sanding etc! You always find some lesser used muscles.

We always use the water based gloss or eggshell for inside - and it's great. Only one has a nasty smell, but one does make a poor job of coverage and wear (can't think which now, but think it may be the Dulux one on both counts). Our Favourite is Sanderson eggshell, and although it costs more, it does a very good job on everything, including radiators, and in bigger tins, the kitchen walls. There's another we use just for the doors (pale Hemp Beige) - a nice satin finish and it's 1829 by Craig & Rose (B&Q).

I am so sorry - always so much inner angst about these things, as none of us like getting such stuff done, and to get sent home is such bad luck. Sorry you have to prepare yourself for it all over again!
I'm so 'allergic' to hospitals, I'd be so upset.

We'd used some Dulux on the skirting 6 days before a carpet was laid ...carpet removed a lot of it as it was pushed down at the edges!
We re-did it with the Sanderson one and vacuuming, washing etc. hasn't damaged it at all - naturally, if something sharp or heavy falls on it, it will mark or chip, but it's fine so far, and been done three years in there now.
Neither of us like the smell of standard oil based household paint, so the water based ones are ideal once you find a decent one.

So, all happy with their iStick 50? (or both of you that I know have them)

...and, Bob - was I right in thinking the Eleaf Air tank won't be suitable for me to use seeing it states from 8-20W? GS Air Atomizer

How many watts do you normally vape at Trish and I'll try it.They work great at 11-15 watts

I bow to your greater knowledge of paint Trish ;-)
It was the Dulux i used and like yourself watched on, as the carpet fitters set about removing half of it.
I would say i'll try the Sandersons version, but i've been rather put off water based paints..

I use the 20W (and 30) one at around 5-6 depending on the coil ...can sometimes get it as low as 4.6 but usually take it up to 5 or 6 - I never go any higher, but of course, the 20 and 30 are actually putting our higher than indicated, so I did wonder.

....and I suppose the 50w will be definitely out?
