There is some info in the EU Legslation section here on ECF, Trish
But a lot of information is also in the POTV news section,i receive via e-mail.But i think the info is on the site aswell.
I'll have to see if I can find it - I was getting far too many emails building up, so had a good weed out recently to try and keep them down ...I'll have deleted any newsletters this time!

It's a serious matter for us vapers and we should all be more involved. The Americans are taking it very seriously. No surprise,as it looks like certain States are trying to implement an 80% tax.Others banning flavoured juices.
There's been plenty of rumbling ever since I began, and it's only got louder over the months.
A lot of people have reported on attitudes and possibilities, and a lot of professional health specialists have produced favourable research reports, yet nothing big enough or concentrated enough has emerged to make that 'voice' heard.
I'm not very surprised in this country, as we aren't a nation of active protesters in the same way that some EU countries are. I am surprised that parts of Europe have succumbed to these new restrictions without a lot of noise though.

There is masses of info out there and it ain't looking good.
If you are really desperate vote for Nige in May,he's vowed not to tax vaping or follow EU legislation.
That's quite a compromise to ask for! ..anyway, how many promises have politicians made in manifestos, yet never followed through? Tony B liar made the same promises in two manifestos and we're still waiting for some of the most important ones.

I read on another forum where a guy reckons that since he switched to high vg mixes he's producing a lot of phlegm (a couple of other posters agree ), I've also noticed that just lately I've had the same problem but I put it down to a recent cold, has anyone on here heard similar ? Think I'll be making the next batch of juice 80/20 see if it makes a difference
Yes, it's the price I've paid for the bad reaction to PG - it causes some congestion to build up, but compared to not being able to breathe because of PG, it's something I can deal with. I use an inhaler once every few days and a decongestant tablet, and it clears it up until it builds up again - makes the difference between me being able to carry on or not.
There's a lot of 80/20 and 70/30 liquids around, and I can use those with only a little breathing trouble building up, so you may find those small amounts of PG beneficial as opposed to me finding them a bit troublesome :)

I'm not confident that the global vaping community has got the wherewithall or the clout to resist any restrictions that may be put on vaping, the government and tobacco companies have years of practice in pulling the wool over and massaging figures.
Exactly, and that's why I said that it needs some heavies such as a few respected law firms coming down on our side and willing to work pro bono - they could then add the weight of the equally highly regarded physicians and scientists who have already more than proved the efficacy and probable safety of e cigs.

I may not be here to see it but I can foresee a time when vapers will be seen in the same light as tree huggers and animal rights folk are now. Our only hope is that there will be someone with one iota of common sense who will realize that the vast majority of vapers are people who have used vaping to quit smoking and although that may leave a tax shortfall, the smoking related illness burden lifted from the NHS will more than make up for it
As for the tobacco companies our only hope is that they throw some of their weight into producing and selling vaping products, soon
All good sense, but 'they' aren't in the business of seeing common sense, only appeasing their biggest contributors, and protecting the sources of biggest tax revenues.
Personally, I don't much mind if they put a sensible tax on them - using e-cigs to save money is not an argument they'd be interested in, but they should be taking notice of the potentially huge savings to the NHS and improvement in the nations overall health ...after all, isn't that why they wanted us to stop smoking tobacco in the first place!
We found a way, but not with their costly, taxed and controlled pharmaceutical products, which either don't work or cause bad side effects, but with something that they didn't tell us we had to use, nor how much we were allowed to have!
If the tobacco companies think the problem will mostly sort itself out with little more effort to them other than protesting to government, then why would they want to invest more heavily in e-cigs? As things are starting to look, all they need do is sit back and be patient ...waiting for thousands to go back to cigarettes!

Never in a month of Sundays - but it is another reason to leave the EU even though I am not really in favour of that.
Italy, Trish has gone the same way as some US States in taxing it to the hilt, If I remember right Holland (the Netherlands) has gone on the Anti Nic theme
Can't help wondering where it will stop once it begins! - that's why the US NRA is reluctant to allow legislation on the automatic firearms: they're not averse to that in any way, but don't want to open the floodgates for masses of other legislation.

I have to look again though at the equipment we're using compared to this time last year - at that time, the EU was making favourable noises about the issue and looking as though they were only interested in keeping the items of safe quality etc. once they'd realised the potential health benefits/savings. Our government were sounding a bit more worrying though, and Cameron said he'd ignore the EU - but for once, it was hoped that the UE could actually influence things here!

Something has changed, and just looking at the power in the mods, and sophistication of tank design and sub-ohms etc., not to mention the huge liquid industry, it may just have pushed any sensible thinking from a government point of view over the edge.
I'm not saying these things are wrong by a long way - they're good, but when the batteries were cylinder shaped and the tanks far smaller and everything less powerful, it perhaps didn't seem such a big 'thing'.
It's all about perception when looked at from that angle, and trying to see the uninitiated's point of view, it can look like something spiralling out of control?
Almost as though it has become a victim of it's own irrefutable success.
I don't know, and I obviously couldn't second guess if things would be different if we were still using small batteries & tanks - but the very nature of technology in a rapidly growing market is a no-brainer when it comes to developing bigger and better.

George I think the only party which is on the side of the vapours are UKIP.Not that we're gonna vote for them

That's what i meant in my other statement Marcus.Nige being Mr Farage.
Another chinless wonder, but ain't they all.
What a choice Cameron...Miliband or Nige, now let me think.......

Ooo, which inhaler & decongestant tablet do you use ?? - I tend to use the Vicks inhaler, nice and portable but was thinking whether the Olbas one might be better.

Good idea - a nice class action, group litigation I think it's called over here, but that will have to wait until our government decides exactly which way they are going to go. Germany appears to be the sensible one so far, declaring that it cannot be classed as a medicine, unlike Denmark, don't know how the appeal is going on the cafe owner in Cologne who won his case against the City who tried to make him ban it in his premises

Freezing Nic base is fine, PG and VG cannot be banned so no problem with those and really flavour concentrates shouldn't be a problem either as they can be used in foodstuff. Not sure but seem to remember that it is not recommended to freeze made up juices, okay to keep those in the fridge to make them last a bit longer.
OK, so far, so good - we need some firm information on how long ready mixed base, nicotine and flavouring can be frozen without too much deterioration (in the nicotine strength for instance -which wouldn't trouble me to a degree as I wouldn't know for sure how much weaker it was). As you say, flavouring could be labelled in an obscure way and not be a problem, and no problem anyway with VG & PG.

People who are mainly going to be affected by the TPD etc if it happens are those that only use clearomizers as they will be restricted to only being able to get a closed system with minimal flavours/amount of juice inside,
Do you mean ready filled ones!?
anyone who builds should be better off, because the only thing they can ban is the Nic base and sale of Mods & Attys, all other liquids can be used in other things apart from vaping, and kanthal, nichrome & nickel are just wire and the wicks are only cotton, rayon, silica etc. So it just means we will have to stock up on Nic base or buy it from a country that doesn't ban it and hope it doesn't get seized by customs, same with the Mods & Attys.
We'd need to be sure the tanks would last a very long time, and stockpile a number too. I can't see myself rebuilding though ..I get cross trying to thread a needle & sewing a button on!
If legislation became widespread across the US, EU etc., would there be any reason financially for production of nicotine liquid and mods, tanks etc. to continue in parts of Asia? What is China's stance on this issue - can't say I've seen anything about that.

I have perhaps 6-8 mods stockpiled and a dozen tanks. Perhaps 100 assorted coils, few 1000ml of ready to use liquid, and the potential to make much more from concentrates - so I'll need to keep those stock levels up and added to in come cases, while at the same time starting to lower my nicotine strength from an average of 4mg to at least half that, and then concentrate on actually using the stuff less. I currently am rarely more than a few inches away from a nicely loaded mod or battery

We all taste things differently - I didn't mind it and thought it better than a lot - the 5 Bucks was one I thought quite good too. Still a few more for you to try, so hope you find a decent one.
Chefs have a new Fresh Coffee flavouring in their Rebranded Range - obviously I don't know what it's like.

We do Trish, but i`m sorry to say it`s one for the bin  I`ll try the 5 bucks next, in a day or two. I have put some of the chefs coffee in my wishlist of concentrates, which is getting rather long now  Another thing i noticed is, they don`t seem to do a concentrate for doughnut king

If you are really desperate vote for Nige in May,he's vowed not to tax vaping or follow EU legislation.

He`s got my vote regardless George, this country needs a bloody good over haul, and he is the only one with the balls to do it IMO.

UKIP.Not that we're gonna vote for them

Aren`t we ? Really ? :)

Well, the first is the 'devil you know', the second ...well, I can't stand any aspect of him at all, and the last - well, he's not exactly what I'd envisage in Downing Street for a start! The white house in it's entirety considers Milliband a joke, so goodness knows what their thoughts on Farage would be - and I for one, like us to keep on good relations with the US.

As an aside, if we operated like the US where states are responsible for a lot of their own laws, would some of us get a better deal

I use Thunderbird and just archive anything important locally on the Computer and delete rubbish weekly, keeps my servers clear, also use IMAP rather than POP so that most recent emails are kept up to date and in appropriate folders
I don't have Thunderbird, and try to keep the Outlook files clearer because my SSD is getting rather full even though only the OS is on it.

Ooo, which inhaler & decongestant tablet do you use ?? - I tend to use the Vicks inhaler, nice and portable but was thinking whether the Olbas one might be better.
Something a bit more powerful: Ventolin. I get in from an online private prescription service (£25 for 2 delivered by Special Delivery next day) I'm still using the second of the first two I got last June. There are certain items that can be ordered once a questionnaire is filled in satisfactorily, and this is one of them.
I was getting some alarming asthma-like breathing problems with the PG, and now and then still do from the small amounts I still use. One inhaler lasts a very long time, so it's not something I'm concerned about. I'd had symptoms of mild sensitivity asthma from dust and the stronger household cleaners since mid 90's.
The decongestant is Chest Eze, and also a bronchodilator plus it helps clear the congestion. It was recommended by our pharmacist when I started getting the sensitivity chest/respiratory symptoms. I perhaps take one or sometimes two in a week, so again, nothing to worry about. ChestEze - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Both are very effective. If I had a permanent or worse problem, I could try using a preventative inhaler, but don't feel the need to do that. It's been better since I found some 100% VG liquids, but I don't use those all the time.

Good idea - a nice class action, group litigation I think it's called over here, but that will have to wait until our government decides exactly which way they are going to go. Be nice if they got themselves in place and visible first though. Between them and the scientists plus all the backing from us and the suppliers of the products we use, it could make a good show of sensibility and determination if done in the right way. It would create media interest, and with luck, plenty of the right kind of exposure.

Don't forget the latest Vaper "Nick" but I'm not sure where his party stands on vaping.
Well, the party as a whole has been a bit of a disappointment really. I know coalition isn't ideal, but when they had the chance, people like Vince Cable let them down and was proven to be quite ineffective, contrary to what everyone thought before they got a chance with government.

At the end of the day, none of them seem to have an acceptable answer to all this country's problems ....including ours!

There is a good thread on POTV discussing this, and they seem to think that freezing is overkill: How long can you store nicotine

Do you mean ready filled ones!?

Yes prefilled with whatever rubbish they decree you can vape, which will be mainly tobacco at up to 20mg/ml max and I can't remember the actual size but think it is definitely less than 5ml (something like 2ml)

We'd need to be sure the tanks would last a very long time, and stockpile a number too. I can't see myself rebuilding though ..I get cross trying to thread a needle & sewing a button on!

From what I can gather in China it is not illegal, but some places enforce their own law making it illegal, so we should still be able to get hold of mods, attys etc as long as they can get through customs here. At the moment only most Muslim countries ban vaping/selling of vaping equipment outright, although even in some of those you can get stuff on the black market.
