Some people are just to lazy to run a business. When I was self employed, I was putting in a minimum of 12 hour days, sometimes up to 18 hours.
When I'm concentrating and also working enthusiastically, I can easily work those sort of hours every day if left to it.

The initial digging up and hard landscaping bit is always the hardest. It's good that you've got a bit of muscle to help out with the heavy stuff.
That was 22 years ago - one is sadly no longer with us, another is a getting too old for that sort of work, and the other ...well, I'm not sure he could work as hard as he did that particular day. Even a heavy duty rotovator was really hard going. Not only part of a farm field gone to weed, it had building debris hidden in it in places! - he was like someone possessed ..just had to get it done! He drank pint after pint of water, milk, tea ..anything!

We've still got a bit left to do in the garden. I need to get some more gravel for around the veggie planters and lay some weed mat under it. Plus sort out a proper patio area. Then the Wife can just keep on top of the weeding and pruning - that's one job I hate
I don't mind lopping bits off ..it's picking them all up and chopping them to fit in a sack I don't like so much!

Guess I'll have to build another veggie planter for that then
Hah! OK then

I think I stopped just in time, before any major damage was done.
I know someone who's done a fair few of those ..pity you aren't closer!

That's the thing, once you get engrossed in a job, the time can zoom by.

We had the same problem with the original digging out stage. I remember digging allsorts of debris up, including an old bag of cement that had fully set and half a wheelbarrow  No sign of buried treasure though :(

Do you not have a garden wheelie bin ?? We have four bins in total. One for unrecyclable stuff, another for glass and some plastics, number 3 for paper and cardboard and the last one for garden trimmings and waste food.

I've got all the tools to do the job myself, including the spring compressors. As you know, I do most of the servicing on the car myself. But I'm getting a bit old to be working on cars in the wind and rain now. Twenty years ago, it wouldn't bother me, but now I'd need 2 days off to recover . I think it will be weds now, looking at the forecast - luckily I'm off that day. Today's been awful over here, it's only just stopped raining an hour ago.

Yes, and I love it when I can work like that! Thoughts flow better and more gets done!

Nearest thing we had to buried treasure was half a small iron wheel ...very old.

Yes, we do have a wheelie ..just for 'standard' rubbish. They give us a blue plastic box for tins & glass, a hessian bag for plastic & cardboard, and another bag or plastic sacks for garden waste. They damaged the bottom of the hessian bag by dragging it to the bin wagon, and where we used to be able to get replacements by ordering online they require us to go to a local library now and buy them for £2 each or for a roll of plastic sacks! ..and they have the audacity to raise the council tax to it's maximum each year!

Always good when you can do it yourself, but it is a heavy, awkward job.
Had changeable cloud/sun/breeze today - no rain since earlier this morning. Not warm though.

Exactly, remember FT doing that with something else, brought out a v4 when there was only a v3 of the original
I remember something like that with a tank of some sort.

On a different subject: I thought this a bit odd yesterday ...sort of a sheep in almost wolfs clothing. Looks OK at first glance until you realise there's no VV/VW buttons! $33.73 Authentic Tesla Two 4000mAh 100W Rechargeable E-Cigarette Battery - aluminum / black at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

With us we have a big Euro Bin for the whole block for black bag rubbish, a see through bag which is picked up every Friday from outside our doors, for all recyclables (tins, glass jars & bottles, plastic milk bottles, margarine tubs, paper & cardboard etc.), and we have to go round to the Library for brown paper sacks (6 at a time free) for garden waste, we just leave those near the entrance to the block and they pick them up when they come round.

Mechanical Mod - not regulated so a bit like my 250w one, wattage depends on the build, they don't know much about ohms law and battery drain though, it says min 0.1 ohm but below 0.18 would not be good for the battery.

I just had a smile to myself .....that person I know that has done a fair number of those springs ..he's the same age as you! :)

Sounds an efficient way of dealing with it. We don't mind the wheelie bin, but having to find somewhere to put the glass/tins box, the bag for papers, two sacks for cardboard/plastic, and a garden waste sack or bag, could be a problem for some people. Our sons last house had a really small garage, so there was nowhere to put them in there. Can't keep them outside really in case it rains.

Well, you make more sense than the description did!
Anyway, what's with all the mechanical ones I've noticed at FT lately - thought they were a step backwards.

I just tried a liquid that I absolutely do not like! Vapour Tech Bearded Ba----d - reminded me of one I had months ago - a sort of lemon oil flavoured tobacco concoction - don't really get any rich custard ...aptly named & not for me! Binnit ...unless one of you would like it.

On the other hand, the All Father is extremely nice! Been using it for a few days now. Said to be Berries, banana, chocolate & peanuts ...can't say I get peanuts as such, but can taste the fruits and creamy chocolate. Banana very mild, chocolate not overly sweet. Really nice.

We've hardly got space to fit in the things wwe want to keep never mind stuff we don't want , Southwark built a state of the art recycling facility not far from Millwall FC, it sorts all the recyclable stuff so makes it a lot easier for us, private houses in the borough have wheelie bins, normally 3, brown green & blue for garden, potato peelings etc, recycle & other.

I think recycling must be really hard for some people depending on where they live.
We find it a pain at times, but I suppose it's worthwhile.

There are still some people that like them, especially high powered ones.
Takes all sorts :) I'd likely get myself in a pickle with one of those!
I'm amazed you bought something with a name like that, if it's what I think it is :laugh:
I'm sure you think right.
Think I may have been blinded by the fact it's on the Chefs site ...the others sounded so nice, I thought it worth a try ..after all, lemon, custard ..a bit of tobacco? What's not to like .....:p :(

Ahh, peace and quiet you can't beat it to get the creative juices flowing :D

Nearest thing we had to buried treasure was half a small iron wheel ...very old.
I've always fancied doing some metal detecting. But if I didn't find anything within a coupe of hours, I'd probably get bored and go home

Before we had the four bins, we used to have a large plastic box for tins and bottles. A lot of people didn't seem to use them though, probably didn't want smelly old food containers in the house. These wheelie bins seem to have done the trick, a lot more recycling being done in this area now. Plus we used to have the large hessian bags for paper too, but they kept on blowing away after they'd been emptied. The new system, with four bins is a lot better, but they do take up a fair bit of space.

Always good when you can do it yourself, but it is a heavy, awkward job.

I'll always try to do a job myself if I can. But sometimes I don't have the time or the weather won't play ball.

I just had a smile to myself .....that person I know that has done a fair number of those springs ..he's the same age as you! :)

If I still had my garage it wouldn't be a problem. I can cope with wind or rain, but the two together is a bit too much. Plus my driveway is a very coarse surface, if I have to slide in and out under the car more than a few times, my back ends up looking like I've been whipped. That's my excuse anyway :p:lol:

Could be bar-steward

If only! ...I had to give in and go to bed at 2 last night ..was trying to think a small composition together but my eyes were dropping. At least I got 8 hours sleep! :)

Oh yes, you at least want a box of gold coins and perhaps a couple of crowns ;)

I once saw a system that had a main wheelie and three slim ones, and they all clipped together for stability and easy manoeuvring - I'd prefer something like that, but I suppose if they didn't get it right in the beginning, they'd find it expensive to change now.

Hard to plan anything if the weather can affect it!

Husbands friend used to have a garage with a pit/lift ..very handy, but they moved last year, and no similar garage. Think our son just uses whatever space is available when he does the odd job for people: garage floor, driveway etc.

Could be bar-steward
Could ..but it's not  It's yuck ...do you want it?

That's what I usually put because I know the other will get censored

:lol:Nothing wrong with the original word Bob, when used in it's proper context

As long as you got a decent sleep that's all that matters, even though it's not very productive ;)

Oh yes, you at least want a box of gold coins and perhaps a couple of crowns ;)
At the bare minimum, has to be worthwhile doing

Sounds like a great idea. But you know how Councils hate spending money, unless it's on the vitally important stuff like "business" trips

I could have used the garage that I helped to set up not so long ago. But the car isn't safe to drive and factoring in a tow truck would have cost too much. I'll just do it when I can :D

Could ..but it's not  It's yuck ...do you want it?

There's some things even I can't fix
