Owen Smith joining the Labour fight, will just split the Anti-Corbynites vote

Indeed - if he is finally allowed to. I'm sure that the PLP will try to "dissuade" him on the basis that there should be only one opponent to Corbyn. I await developments with interest. :)

It's also interesting that he's positioning himself to the left of Eagle. A Corbyn mole, perhaps?

That was the way I looked at it, anything to stop Eagle beating Corbyn, the problem will be the Labour voters, a lot of them like Corbyn, god knows why

Many of them are young and don't remember the 70's. If they did I don't think they'd be so keen on Trotskyite activism.

At one time, it could be said you'd been reading too many novels or watching too much cinema/TV ....recent events make anything like that quite likely now though!

He's very strange ...may have conformed a little to appearances of late, but underneath, a rather odd man that only seems to show existence of life in the presence of unions & their supporters.

The Labour party is a shadow of what it used to be. I still think we don't need a top political party with such obvious involvement by unions and their bribes. It seems rather anti establishment or slightly illegal to me.
Perhaps I don't understand the history of the party enough to understand this seeming 'purchase' of a political party.

The difficulty is that, if we want "clean" politics, then we would have to pay for it through taxation. Unlikely to be all that popular. At present political parties get their cash where they can - this leaves the door open to corruption, but doesn't penalise the taxpayer. You pays your money (or not) and takes your choice .... :)

Speaking of tax here's a "funny" thing - during the Second World War the top rate of income tax was 99.25%. Ouch!

True sadly, but it would mean they were all on a level playing field and depended on their track record and what they said to further their careers - Surely most could get backing from non-controversial sources?
Just as past governments have allowed the tentacles of the EU to grip ever more control over our country, the Labour Party have allowed themselves to be controlled by unions. (Or so it seems).

:?: ...and I wonder how many earned the sums required to qualify for such a tax? Exorbitant is too weak a description of that.
There must have been a lot of lower tax band income for anyone to put up with that!

Well, listening to her speech, Mrs. May certainly talks the talk, we'll have to wait and see if she can walk the walk
Yes, impressive. I particularly liked the reference to a Union! Amongst other things, a guarded barb for Sturgeon and co?
So nice to hear someone talk about our country in such a proud manner.

Nice too, to see the good wishes and backing coming from across the world.

If he had any left after his spending habits. Sad really to see the story of his downfall.

I just saw a 3ml tank at FT: $21.78 Authentic Sense Herakles Honor Tank Clearomizer - 3ml / 1.8ohm/0.6ohm / stainless steel + glass / 22.3mm diameter at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
It's pre-order, and gives no image of the 1.8 coil, or a dismantled view - was wondering if it's likely to be any good, and perhaps it uses the Hydra 1.8 coil. No mention of the tip being 510 or changeable.
Think it best to wait until a) more info available & b) a review by someone who does MTL

It Looks like our new PM is forming a nice party now. David Davis to see us out of the EU ! Yeeeeah, Bozzer as Foreign Secretary to get our trade deals done, and for the first time in decades, a trading body. to oversee the deals etc.
Also that Creep Osborne resigns, GOOD, he would be lost without his `Buddy`anyway !!

Yes, I think it sounds good so far!

Osborne didn't resign though ...he was sacked!

I did wonder about that ...perhaps tomorrow! He's made a mess of it.

Yes I totally agree Bob ! He should be strung up for what he is doing to the NHS. Let`s hope she gives him the Boot :)
We can but hope! We've needed a decent replacement for a long time ...someone who knows the NHS from the roots up!

I would love to hear your thoughts on the R150. I just bought the original version, it was too beautiful to pass up. Can't find any available from US vendors yet. The engraved is lovely.

He's not as bad as the junior doctors, though. "Save our NHS" - what they really mean is "Give us even more overtime pay on Saturdays."
