A quick question for Bob & George, how is it that SS316L vapes 100 times better than Kanthal ? Is it just more stable when heating up, no spiking etc ? I wish i had done this ages ago :) Only got another 7 tanks to do now

What's Kanthal?
No,it certainly is an improvement Terry, but for TC,i still find myself reaching for Nife30

I don`t usually do this, but i have got to recommend this Lemon Drizzle Cake from Chefs, Bloody beautiful :) LDC

I very much like Lemon vapes,i've ordered some base so may pick up a bottle.

And :offtopic: It Looks like It`s bye bye to mop head Merkel ! GOOD

Good news indeed.:)

Wouldn't get your hopes up too much, it's only one State, CDU are still likely to remain in power until the next general elections.

As for SS v Kanthal, it just gives a smoother vape as far as most people are concerned, the only Kanthal I use these days is in the pre-built heads/coils

Interesting views on kanthal vs ss wire, I`ll have to look in to that. Could I use the ss wire on my none tc mods ? are there any comparison charts for wire gauge and resistance for ss vs kanthal

Speaking of charts, I lost all of mine when my old laptop gave up the ghost and I`m due for mixing up another batch of base liquid, so would I be right in thinking that if I mixed 83ml of 72mg nic liquid into 917ml of pg/vg I would end up with 1 litre of 6% base ? TIA

Last night I decided to clean and service 3 of my sub tanks that I haven't used for some time. An hour and a half later I hadn`t got one that was working. On close inspection the insulating pad under the pos and neg posts had either melted or perished, all 3 had been bought as authentic from Fasttech, so now I`m wondering if I have been duped by Fasttech or have Fasttech been duped by their suppliers or is the fault inherent with the sub tank. Has anyone else had this problem with that model ?

Nice to see you back George

If she did go, I suppose it would depend who/what the replacement is

SS can be used in power mode(wattage) Vince.Wire gauges are the same, but you will find resistances lower if using the same number of wraps, compared to Kanthal.
eg.I've just rebuilt a tank,dual coil. 9 wraps per coil, 3mm ID with SS316L 26g came out to .31Ω.

I think the sub tanks did suffer with insulation problems,Terry could probably tell you more.
I can't help with your juice figures,i'm a noob to all that.Bobs your man.

I didn't read back over the month i missed. So didn't know you were back.Presuming it's Vince as in Vince01.Did you lose your old id when your lappy packed in?

I don`t think you`ll regret it George :)

All my Kanthal has now gone in the bin

Definitely more cakey Trish, and personally yes, i think it`s better :)

Ordered a bottle of LDC and a bottle of Strawberry shortcake.
Keeping it simple for my first go,if it goes OK,i'll hit that litre of nic in the freezer.
I see Dripworx are now doing one shots of a lot of their juices.

Reading the reviews for the LDC, and hearing what Terry said, I will get some on my next order :)
Same brand also does the Gnarly Sauce (strawberry/kiwi/cream ...I have a bottle of it and will make some soon. It sounds like one we had before ...was it a Kilo one?

Have you tried any of the Dripworx - I see one that sounds rather nice: Steep Treats 65ml Premium E Liquid

Kiberry Yoghurt. I had a bottle last month(revisit) meh! Seem to have gone right off it.
Funny how that happens - had the same myself with some. I've never re-ordered that one, so once must have been enough for me for all I liked it ;)
Another that springs to mind is the Beard Hibiscus one ...probably a few others if I look through my box of 'wonders'

It's meant to be something special according to a gang on potv, but i don't tend to listen to them
I do like the sound of that particular one ..perhaps I'll try it when I get around to it.

the Beard Hibiscus one ...

Exactly, had a bit of a revisit my old juices last month. And the Beard #64 didn't do it for me this time around.
Don't do Castle Long anymore either, 50/50 is just too rough for me now.

Do you think peoples tastes change all the time?
I can understand it happening over years but not just a few months.

I've actually had steep treats in my cart on several occasions, when offers have been on,and always left it:unsure:

Edit: FRESH15 will get you a 15% discount at the mo Trish.

There's been a lot that I've loved and gone off after a few bottles or even less. I think if you don't use tobacco flavours, it's a case of treating e-liquid more like a food consumable than a cigarette type replacement, and we can enjoy a food a few times, and then move on to something else.
We used to love those huge fresh cream cakes done by Sainsbury's bakery - wouldn't thank you for one now - they seem greasy.
Our tastes change at times - or perhaps also it's because there's so much to choose from with e-liquid. You get all manner of things from cakes, confectionery, fruits, desserts, drinks, to complex tobacco blends with spices etc. ...talking about spices - time I tried my Dragonscape again!

With Castle Long, if you still love the taste, you could try a concentrate (LT) or DIY recipe, and use VG quantity to suit.

Next time you see a discount, let me know because there's only one size to choose from. I'll probably try it with a discount. With something custardy or creamy, if it's not brilliant, you can always add things like fruit flavours, chocolate or toffee to it and make it tasty! I've done that with the Drippn Whip as it has little taste.
Ah - just saw your edit with a discount code ..thanks! :)

I had a clone recipe you gave me,but like Vince, lost it on my last lappy.
May try the LT concentrate, Haunted house IIRC.
Recipe:

Castle Long - Five Pawns clone

2.5% Kentucky Bourbon

1.5% Coconut Extra

1.5% Acetyl Pyrazine

1.5% Toasted Almond

1% Vanillin

1% Bourbon Vanilla

1% Brown Sugar Extra

All TFA Flavourings

...............................................................................................................................
It's in the Volume 1 PDF of Vaping Home Brewers recipes ...I have both volumes in PDF's if anyone wants them emailing.
