Frog spawn - YUCK, semolina was just as bad, school dinners had a lot to answer for, put me off a lot of foods
Senior school tapioca had a glue-like feel to it ..and taste I recall - jam essential! I preferred tapioca, but that wasn't brilliant. Junior school food was much better.Funnily enough i quite liked the Latter Trish, had to have a spoonful of jam stirred in though

I recall some awful 'stuff' at Tech. ...something like chunks of spam, oven baked with tomatoes and cheese on top!!!! - that was awful ...and their attempts at panacklety, liver & bacon...and other things were indescribable! Roast potatoes and chips were OK though
....but my Mums tapioca, semolina and rice puddings were great! In fact, both parents could cook excellent, plain good food. My Dad always made his own fish & chips. Mum made superb steak pies. Wish I had the inclination ...but cooking (and ironing) are pet hates of mine!

What we did going to and from school outside was another matter - No hat ...trouble! Noisy on the bus - trouble! Untidy uniform - trouble! Eating in public - trouble!
