Hey Shabbar,

I use the svd in 18650 mode. I dont think stacking is such a great idea, even though this device can apparently handle it. I just avoid it... As soon as you get the email from fasttech saying that your package has shipped, it takes about 7-9 days via Singapore post to arrive in the country. At that stage you can pick it up from customs post office in jhb. You will need to take your invoice along with you. Import tax is 45% of total cost. e.g. $60 = +/- R270.00 in tax.
Otherwise you could wait till customs requests invoice, I mail mine to them. Then it takes 6-7 working days before it gets to your local post office. Then you can pay the tax at your local post office.

Hope that helps

When you take your invoice to them, tell them that is hobby and toys parts. There is no import duties on this and you will be charged only 14% VAT and the processing charge of R18.

The amount of import duties that you charge is very dependent on what you classify the items as.

Just my 2c.....

svenon ... im ordering the xpress kit . will the 18650 bat work in it ?

Yes have an 18650 on mine. used an 18500 for 2 days and tossed it. Cant keep up with me on it. 18650 gives me about 1.5 days (2600mah), but Im a heavy vapor.

On the customs issue. You can always try and bring an invoice for something else with you. A buddy of mine took and invoice in for lamp oils for the e liquid. They destroyed the package and threatened to fine him. It was 2 bottles of 30ml juice and a 10ml.

Customs in JHB are full of crap. Good luck! Keep us updated.

Recently I have been ordering local. Its a bit more expensive, but I can get my order in my hand same day or next day. If there is something wrong I can pick up the phone and scream at someone and it gets sorted.

howsit Shabbar

you should follow your tracking number, everyday if i were you LOL

from Fasttech website, you can track the item.

once it gets here, at the hub, you can call them and ask what the status is. at this point the package would have already been to/ from customs and the people at the hub will tell you if there are duties payable.

they will also request the invoice from you (which you can pdf from the fasttech website), you can email this to them.

you then have 1 of 2 options- either you collect it at the mail hub or wait for it to be delivered to the closest post office in your area.

if you collect from the mail hub, take the invoice, your id and money to pay for the duties if there is anything payable.

hope this helps.

What I have noticed was that the protected battery I bought from the due south flash light shelve does not work.
The protection level is set too low.
I one day forgot to pack an extra battery, and that was the day that my pv decided to die. Went to the mall, and picked up a 18650 and charger at Due South, and it seemed okey. But the moment I hit fire on my pv, it goes into protection. (from the battery side)
However, that battery in my Cree 800 lumens flashlight is happy as can be!
So I would say it depends on the battery type. What was the protection designed for.

*Edit*
My PV was set to 7 watts, so it was not like I was asking it to draw serious power. It was actually a rather mild setting.
