Ok, another problem. Sorry for posting so many threads, but...

Rebuilt my CE5 I had taken apart earlier and cleaned, slapped on a new coil, filled it with e liquid, waited 15 minutes, pressed the button and.... NOTHING. No crackling like I usually hear, no vapor. I thought maybe the battery was bad, unscrewed it, checked the contacts. Replaced it, tried again. Still nothing. Finally I thought maybe it was flooded so I unscrewed the tip and sucked on the open clearomizer. Surprisingly, it worked. Started to vape. I turned it off, 5 minutes later, same thing happened. Well I repeated this about twice, it's working stable now, but wjat happened? Is the atomizer faulty or have a short in it or did I flood the heating element?

Thanks again,

CC

Did you screw it down too hard?

I just mentioned this in a previous thread only minutes ago.

eGo-threaded clearos can push up/down contact pins on both the clearo and the battery.

Tug on the clearo's contact pin with a paperclip, or fiddle with the contact pin on the battery and try to "umph" it up a tad.

EDIT: Also, you don't want to fill a clearo all the way to the top. The top of the wicks is the optimal filling.

No, I only screw it on until it's snug- I always worry I'll strip it if I screw it really tight.

If what you are doing is OK depends on your definition of 'snug'. I screw on the device until I feel the slight increase of force required to turn it that indicates the CE5 has made contact with the pin in the battery then give it another 1/8 to 1/4 turn. I don't consider the result snug as the clearo still wobbles a bit on the battery if I nudge the top sideways.

Also, if the clearo is flooded it will still give you something when you run it.

OK, now I'm thinking the coil is defective as I just tried to vape on this clearo/coil to no avail. No vapor at all. Sucked on the open clearo again, replaced the tip, but it only worked for one 5 second drag and wouldn't work again. Do you guys get DOA coils often? Is that common?

Do not have experience with the CE5, but sometimes have the same problem with a mt3, replace coil, works for a minute, then nothing. 9 times out of 10, going back and re checking things works out. Do not know why the coil came loose is the most common problem for me, but it happens. DOA coils do happen.

Good Luck! Hope for the best.

You didn't respond to my post. I can't help if you don't give me the information I ask for :thumb:. How are you tightening it?

Dude!!! You might be on the edge of " too stupid to vape" ,,, But i think you saved yourself.
Just kidding. it is always something small that we have over looked. I have never had a total fail on any of this stuff. I have had several operator error issues!

LMAO right now lol. Thanks man! Who knew something so small like tightening on a head would have such a huge impact on how it works! Thanks everyone for helping me so much!
