Here are my favorite things about not smoking, so far. They're roughly in order:

  1. I don't smell like cigarette smoke any more.
  2. No more cigarette butts. I didn't want to just toss them on the ground, but I could never find a place to put them.
  3. Not having to buy a pack every day for $5.
  4. My sense of smell has come back.
  5. My lungs are clearer.
  6. The juice actually tastes good. Yum.
  7. Cool new toys to play with. Learning to build coils. Fun.
  8. I might actually live longer. This is low on the list, because who knows?

What are your favorite parts?

6) Not having that feeling when I'm down to a few cig's (Time to go buy more, viscious cycle)
I forgot about that one! "Damn, just smoked my last cigarette, and it's 11:30 so all the local stores are closed. Now I have to hop in my car and drive all the way to the Plaid Pantry. Sigh." Glad I don't have to do that any more!

No smoker's breath. No smoke in my car. Can stay in my room, instead of goin' to the garage. I was paying 8.50/pk here in CT, but luckily I cut way back before I quit (I'm hundreds and hundreds of dollars away from breaking even though!). And I love toys with buttons and lights, so there's that! And the flavors...so much fun. I was a menthol smoker, and found a good juice for that for most of the day, but I always have other flavors in tanks to switch it up. I'm using a strawberry cheesecake right now....so weird, but good! I can taste the strawberry, the cheesecake, even the crust!

$11.50 per pack here. That was $23 per day for me! Glad to be saving that.

Car smells better, house smells better, and heck, I smell better!

Surprising people with the statement "I'm quitting!" and watching their reaction. I was such a heavy smoker, most people never thought I'd quit.

Love that the cat doesn't sprint off the couch at the mere sound of a lighter.

Not having to carry around, in my car, empty bottled-water bottles just to put cigarette butts in. I hated throwing them on the ground.

Ask me again in a few weeks when my journey is longer and I'm sure I'll have more! :D

Congrats everyone... keep going!

Not smelling

Not throwing a ciggy out the driver window and it landing in the back seat

Not smashing a pack by sitting or standing on it

Not smoking that bent ciggy (so un cool)

Not going to 3 different gas stations to find your brand

Not taking a puff and burning the living hell out of your eye

Not trying to light one and catching your nosr on fire

Not bumming one to everyones brother/sister/mother and mothers mother

Lol

No more smoking in the rain or freezing cold, under the hot sun, don't have to go outside in the middle of the night, and don't even have to get out of bed.

I stopped vaping in bed after I had a tank leak through the night onto my sheets. At least the juice smelled delicious on there until I changed my bedding a day later.

As I typed this I realized that could have been a lit cigarette (not at current residence though at previous ones, where I smoked indoors) and could have burnt my bed, me, and possibly my house to the ground!

All a bunch of good posts here. All reminders I remember after lighting up a cigarette. Thus why I am distancing myself from them, though still having friends who smoke can make it tough. Sometimes they just smell too good. :-/

This is not my experience :) They make us vape in the designated smoking areas, and the stench from the smoke makes my face hurt.

It really depends for me. Call me sensitive though sometimes the smell will bug the crap outta me yet sometimes it smells good. I guess I still crave something from smoking? At least I'll admit it. Even after vaping for ~4 months now, and investing a couple grand probably...

Like driving down the road and being behind a smoker and I get their smoke into my work van when I am running the AC vaping away. Yet change the environment to hanging out in good company with friends and suddenly I can say I am inclined to pick up a cigarette... Guess maybe it's a mental thing more so than a physical craving...?
