Question for those who have vaped INW Gold Ducat - if after ~5 hours of UC, along with ~5-7 extra days of steeping, I don't like it...is it getting safe to say it's a miss, or should I let it keep steeping to see if it changes (a lot)?

Tastes almost exactly how firecrackers smell the second they explode...
But, when I think about it, I no longer taste that...just something herbally.
I've read several descriptions of GD and I suspect that the ones that claim a maggi note are the ones I'll wind up agreeing with. (Maggi is a soy based flavoring and I keep forgetting to pick up a bottle at Walmart to see what it tastes like.)

I really enjoy it with a hot cup of coffee, especially after a meal, but not really an adv for me. I'm guessing it's going to be a miss for you because it mellows a bit but doesn't change a whole lot with steeping. That note, what ever it is, is there to stay, and you either like it or not.

Edit to add: From my notes, here's some blurps I've copied from various places.
Gold Ducat : a dark, sweet, black licorice tobacco.
Gold Ducat Very good honey and tobacco blend that is not too sweet, but adds a nice touch to highlight the smokey taste of the tobacco.
Gold Ducat-INW (tobacco & Maggi flavor)
Gold Ducat: doesn't taste like meat/soy/anything like that to me. I get nutty, honey, maybe whisky, and caramel. It seriously does mimic a NET.
Gold Ducat – Sweet taste. No grassy that I can tell. Too sweet for an all day imo.
Gold Ducat - Sort of a mild pipe tobacco, very rich, almost has a creamy element to it.
Gold Ducat: a fantastically rich pipe tobacco ( never got coffee), amber liquid that darkens and mellows with aging.

Shows how much our taste buds vary lol.

Anyways, you can always try it with some other flavor and maybe you can rescue it. I'm enjoying this at the moment.

Ina Gold Ducat 1.5%
Hangsen Peanut Butter 1.5%
Hangsen Ice Cream 2%
Capella Vanilla Custard 2%

It's a miss then. just not your cup of tea or you used to much. You can try diluting it by half but if it's just the taste you don't like not much you can do about that.

Guys I done messed up. Here's the story:

The other day I decided to play around with some mixes. I took a base of dark for pipe and added a bit of Old Havana to it. IT'S AMAZING!!! The old Havana and the dark for pipe play really well together, tastes like a good spiced rum tobacco! Now here's where I messed up: I made 60ml of this before running out of old Havana!! Morale of the story: when in doubt, order another!

P.S. here's the recipe:

for 30ml, 25/75 PG/VG, 8mg nic

12 ml nic base (50/50 @ 20mg)
16.5 ml VG
1 ml INW dark for pipe
.5 ml INW Old Havana

@aceswired - I did already try and I came out with weird amounts thus the ask - by the way do you make a recipe exactly like it is written as far as base - I do not. I use 10mg nic in a 70%PG/30%VG base. ;) I come out with 3.33% of the Dark for Pipe and 1.66% for the Old Havana but those are not 1ml and .5ml. Close but no cigar lol:vapor:

It's the ratio that matters, right? 2:1 at a common total percentage. Easy peasy.

@Kingboomer can you please put that recipe into percentages? Some of us do not mix in 30ml batches to test lol I start with 1.5ml,3ml,or 6ml testers.;) Just the 2 flavorings? :)

Yeah, sorry xD

3.33% INW dark for pipe
1.66% INW old Havana

Just those 2.

Now I need to go get some Old Havana... :D

I'm wondering if some FA Oakwood would go well with Dark for Pipe as well...I'll test it soon, just mixed a sample of the oakwood today.

Let me know how that goes. I'm definitely picking up some with my next order.

OK so hubs hates my Arabic - I forgive him and made him buy me shinnies for attrition :D

So - since I have never cared to try any other tobacco flavors - I need help. He likes fruity vapes and we have come up with 4 flavors he likes but now he wants something different. I remember someone gave a description of a flavor that said it was smokey plum. That sounds good.

What would you get for a guy that doesnt want sweet but doesnt want strong cig type either...or name a few. I'm going backwards reading as lately there have been a lot of great flavor reviews I skipped over because I love my Arabic and wasnt paying attention.

Mixed up a bunch of test batches tonight. The highlights for me were:

Dark for Pipe: definitely get an alcohol note and a nice oak-y finish; excellent stuff
Tobacco (HS): simple tobacco with a nice amount of sweetness
French Pipe (INW): Similar to HS's version, IMO, but there's enough difference there to warrant having both
Arabic: ho mama, I don't know how I'd describe it but I love it
555 Gold: if someone wanted to attempt to clone The Virus from Nicoticket they need to start with this tobacco; the peanut note from this is exactly the same that I get from The Virus

I'm not much of a reviewer but those are some basic, initial thoughts after trying these fresh. All were mixed at 5%, 50/50 and 3mg of nic.

When I first started this thread back in April of last year I never though it would grow like this or help so many with tobacco related vaping. Most of all I got so much out of this with new tobaccos to try and new recipes to make, so much so that my tobacco vaping has grown to a new maturity. I just want to say thank you all for contributing so much and bringing our tobacco experience to a whole new level. Keep up the good work.

I think it's time to sticky this thread being we haven't seen a new stick in 4 years. What do you say MODS........

Hey guy's. First post in this thread. Have always just lurked and learned from the thread, since it's beginning. Thanks Danny for the best tobacco thread! Taking a break from the NET's and back with the Hangsen and Inawera's and TA's. Boy, they are just fantastic.

My experience - if I don't like the first tank - steeping isn't going to help change my mind.

For me that depends on how long it has steeped already. I've had several liquids that were awful after one week of steeping, but started to taste great after 5 to 6 weeks. If they don't taste well by then, i give them up.

After an average 8 to 9 hours of steeping in a yoghurt maker, i let most tobacco liquids rest for at least another 3 to 4 weeks. They're just not ready after a week or two.

Welcome to the thread and those sound like some really good recipes especially the 2nd one. I have all the ingredients so I may just give them a shot.
