And everybody just thought I was a finicky eater comin' up. It's amazing what one can believe when everyone around you repeats it. I wish I'd understood this ability at a much younger age rather than considering it a nuisance. Fact is I avoided eating a great many things like most green vegetables as I was so sensitive to the flavor of rusting that it tasted obnoxious to me, being one example. Another dairy or cheese starting to sour days before most thought it a bother. Ultimately by age 30 I challenged most of these aversions and went vegetarian for almost a decade. I guess that kind of prepared me for this. So I walked into vaping eyes, olfactory and taste buds open. It's been incredible and it's only gotten far and away better. Thanks to all of you who paved the way.

Happy Father's Day. :)
Sounds like a gift. Me, I'm lucky if I can taste the difference between two similar flavors.....

Yeah, I look at the bright side too these days. Short way of sayin' I've seen a lot of sh•t. But I was concerned about quitting in part because of this. It's also in part why I quit (3 years this past week, in 2 days!). I think rewarding taste and smell are vital to new vapers chances of success in quitting. So optimizing those prospects, getting the skills to get to that vape is critical for many. My most interesting discovery is about that, just how varied human tastes and preferences are. Made clear right here, every day.

And the FDA wants to put us all in a Jack-in-the-Vape. LOL Makes me more motivated to do the opposite every time I see it.

I vape at least a dozen devices and almost half as many flavors as my ADV daily. No sense settling on a boring diet.

Good luck. :)

So until now i had never had a super steeped dark for pipe. But i hadnt loaded up my last mix in a while. Its a bit too ashy for me now. Does anyone else like it better fresh? Honestly i dont know if ashy is the right word but its totally different thanwithin the first week...

Its good dont get me wrong. Incredibly, staggeringly realistic tobacco. Just too much formy liking honestly. I think adding the rum and tiramisu will help even it out for me though. Or maybe its just better fresh to me..

Its never made it much more than a week before, but i mixed a lot last time then got to fooling around with coffee vapes.

I personally like it steeped. Fresh is really good too, but my sweet spot is 2 weeks.

ETA I mix mine at 3.33%, might step down some and see how that does. Oh and Happy Father's Day!

Have you ever tried vaping unflavored Mac? I like that peppery taste from some brands of nicotine like MFS. Haven't tried VapersTek Throat Hit, but curious to know how it compares with MFS. Opinions anyone?

I use the vaperstek TH exclusively any more. Out of all the different nics I've tried, it's the smoothest IMHO, as far as peppery nic goes. Haven't tried their EU sourced fresh stuff yet...

Definitely. Russ, superX only did base as I first started working on micro's with him. I was skeptical it could resemble an analog as he was prompting peeps but it kinda does and much more. It's an excellent transition vape to cleanse the pallet. I've made some great use of it to prime wicking of all kinds especially synths. It speeds break in and often boosts production I've seen. As well a great cleaner for avoiding having to dry burn and for prepping Nextel (swelling it) for larger Ø winds. Sometimes the edge comes off for everyone and things start tasting flat. I don't think I've quite ever experienced vapers tongue. For me it's prolly more like I imagine normal, lol. But then I do resort to straight VG and lower temps to give the buds a break. So yeah, it's great and…less filling.

:D Good luck.

I had a similar problem with a couple of the weaker Hangsen flavors a while back. Hangsen Ry1 for example was really tasty at 3% except too weak. When I bumped it up to 7% it was much better and I thought it would be great with some steep time, but the grass/hay notes went sideways and I didn't care much for it.

I like it both ways. It does change. Little surprise that it's not a change for the better for everyone. ....
Yep. I just wish I wasn't so lazy because I think I would benefit from mixing up some of my flavors, giving them some steep time, then mixing in others. Sounds like a bit of effort to sort it out though, and I'd have to keep good notes. Probably not going to happen lol. :vapor:

In your experience, do the following need a long steep?

Inawera Gold Ducat
Inawera (WG) Tobacco Absolute Cuban Cigar
SC Virginia Flue Cured

Thanks in advance and happy Father's Day tobacco freaks!
Not really. For me, they all benefit from at least a couple days of steep time but the change is pretty slight. Be sure and post your impressions, especially the SC Virginia. It's not a favorite of mine stand a lone but I love it as a mixer. Not that it's not a well done flavor, just that flue cured isn't my favorite. But if you know that you like flue cured you'll probably love it.

Will do. They should be in my mail box this afternoon.

My impressions...

Both are freshly mixed 10mg/mL 50/50 in KFL+ at 11.5W

Inawera (WG) Tobacco Absolute Cuban Cigar: Mixed at 15 drops per 10mL as per Inawera's recommendation. It's quite subdued. I get some dry cigar wrapper, especially late in the exhale. There's also a very mild sweetness that is reminiscent of wildflower honey. Not a whole lot else going on here. I'll vape the rest in the Kayfun and give it another visit in a week or so.

SC Virginia Flue Cured: It's quite grassy and earthy with a faint hint of fresh ash. This is a straight-up naturally sweet mild pipe tobacco. Again, I'll finish the tank and see what's changed in a week.

Overall, I'm missing the dank funkiness that I was hoping for. I doubt either will deliver after a steep.

My search continues. Neither were bad, just not what I was craving. If you know of a flavoring that'll give me that deeply fermented, funky, savory cigar kick that I'm jonesing for, please let me know.
