Quoting my own post isn't the best idea but it'll do.
I dawned on me to where I've smelled that FA Virginia before, it took a few crown and cokes but I did end up figuring it out. I dumped the INW Turkish then rewicked with the FA Virginia just to make sure I was correct and to my dismay I was right. I remember way back as a noob vaper, you can probably still buy them in fasttech those super cheap tobacco juices. I think 5 bucks per 100ml. I had bought several different tobaccos and they all had the same base stale dirt taste and were just awful. My first vape off the FA Virginia sent be back to those juices. The complete night and day difference between the HS Virginia, INW Virginia which are both OK vapes and then FA Virginia which is YUK.

FA Virginia is one of my favorites as a standalone mix. Mixed too high in percentage it's not as good as it is at 2% or less. We all have our own favorites. Some like flavors that I consider to be a waste of money. It's why I buy the small bottles of flavor on the first try!

I like the Black at 3.5% and the Arabic at 4%. They're both good shake and vape but better with at least a few days steep time. I've never tried the Flue Cured so don't know about it.

Do you taste a lot of sweetness in the Arabic? Mine at suggested percentages smells really sweet and that shows itself in the flavor when vaped. Even after a couple of months of steeping it's still overly sweet. I shy away every time I shake it and sniff it.

I like HS Flue Cured at 5% with .5% EM.

Does it need steeping? For how long?

It's on the sweet end of my spectrum for sure. Maybe cut with something dry like Cohiba SC?

Virginia is a favorite, for me it has a strong tobacco note in it which is great when you want a strong tobacco taste. The Gold Durcat has replaced the Virginia and Cavendish as no 1 favorite, I don't know what it is about it but it is just the taste I like best. About time to mix up more liquid, all the 50 ml bottles are filled so I'll have to use 30 ml bottles and can try the Desert Voyager.

I don't think I've seen any two reviews of Hangsen Arabic being the same. It seems to be different for everyone. I'm in the camp that gets a curry like note along with some other flavors that I can't identify but I assume they are what some call Arabic spices. Not really that sweet to me but I have seen other reports of too sweet as well.

To me this is why Arabic is such a good flavor. I get a chocolate/coffee/tobacco flavor from it, but it kinda changes on me, and I understand why others say it's like cedar or spice. There are a lot of undertones to this flavor and it's really complex. That said, earlier in this thread someone (aceswired maybe?) said Super Concentrate's Old Captain was similar to Nicoticket's The Virus, so I tried it. It's in the same flavor family as Arabic for me, but even better. That stuff is amazing.

I steep my Arabic for at least 4 or 5 weeks. But everyone's tastes are different, so it's a good idea to keep testing it, until it settles into that perfect stage where it's blended just right for you.

I get spicy / curry from Arabic too, it's not overly sweet for me. But definitely nowhere near dry either.

I've just put some Desert Voyager that was mentioned in the forum a while ago, I'd rank it as a very pleasant tobacco flavor. The Gold Durcat stays my favorite and while smoking that I noticed a tank of liquid would last longer instead of being used quicker. I'm not sure if my sense of taste is changing because of the vaporizer but at least I can still enjoy puffing on the vaporizer with out the bad effects burning tobacco caused.

I have a 50ml bottle of HS Arabic mixed at 4% with no additives that's been in my box of seldom vaped juices for 6 months. I did a test vape at 1 month an it was way sweet and spicy. It's been decreasing in sweet aroma and is beginning to develop something more like what I expect from a tobacco in a sniff test. Maybe I'll try it again soon.

It probably needs a touch of AP to correct it.

6 months??? Man! Patience is one thing but growing old while sitting and waiting for your juice to steep is another thing!

Have you tried using an USC? It cuts down significantly on your steeping time.

1 hour in USC = 1 week of steeping (roughly)

I still have a couple of bottles with September 2016 DIY dates on them. Old ones are generally flavors that didn't impress me in the first month to 6 weeks. I let them sit and try them periodically. A bad vape is a decent vape if you are out of everything else.

I generally mix about 300ml of flavored and 200 unflavored once a month. Some get used quickly (the best ones). Others sit until I get curious about their steeping success or I'm out of the others! It's usually curiosity. I've always got a new batch steeping.

I do use the UC here and there. Most of the time I have juice that's peaked and don't need rapid gratification.

I don't see steeping 6 months as any problem like DaveP said its the flavors that don't impress me initially get set back then eventually revisited if/when I get around to them. That's the perk of having a significant backstock, new juices can sit and I won't miss them. My basement computer-vape lab is cool in the summer and much cooler in the winter so its optimum for steeping juices, so cool in the winter I have to warm my VG to get it to mix in my mixer. Just as a general time frame some of my tobaccos easily sit 2-3 months, not using sweeteners they don't get syrupy over time.

I set mine on top of the hot water heater. Gets warm and rattles like a s.o.b....

I stand corrected...
What I said about the FA Virginia being YUK, I was wrong. I took it and added it around 70/30 into the subtank atty with one of my HS/TA tobac blends with no extra steep time and its actually quite good, been vaping it like that for a few days now, many attys later and still enjoying the subtleness of that taste so I am going to mix up a 1.5% FA Virginia and keep on adding it by the atty the way I am doing it now. I still think its a YUK taste when its in your face but barely there its a nice change of flavor just like AP.

FA Virginia is one of those flavors that's best mixed light. 1.5% is in range. You can always add more. Steeping adds the kick to it. If it's too in your face, adding .5% Ethyl Maltol will sweeten it. if it needs more kick, try .5% Acetyl Pyrazine for a nutty flavor.

There's several tobacco flavors that I didn't like at first, but enjoyed once I found the right percentage in the mix. FA Cowboy was one of those. At lower percentages it's a good vape.
