I agree, TC with a genny works wonders. I used to use mesh and TI wire, then decided to try and switch to ceramics for the flavor and no shorts. From my findings I couldnt get it to work consistently. I am not done trying but more people working at it the better. It would probably work better if I used the soft ceramic called ReadyWick, but I was trying to use the stone.

Readywicks are nothing like porous ceramic, not even close. When I tried the Readywicks a few years back, it reminded me more like silica

How was the Readywick?

Eric
Honestly I didn't care for them that much, like I mentioned they reminded me of the old silica wicks. Taste was on par with silica and cotton but unlike cotton, you can dry burn the wick along with the coil. The ready wick lasts for a long time unlike cotton. When the wick gets gunked, you just simply dry burn everything and it's white again like silica. It looks like a rope and is pliable. Porous ceramic is a hard rod[emoji12] and also is dry burned along with the coil but the flavor is much better.

I now remember why I didn't care for the ready wick and I believe it was just the particular batch I had purchased a few years back. Those wicks are heat treaded or something, kind of a prep of some sort by the factory and I believe that the batch I had purchased wasnt prepared properly. There was others who had the same issue and re bought from a different place and said it was night and day. I was meaning on giving it another try but never did

As long as you place them in boiling water rinse out and repeat for proper cleaning you'll be fine... at least 2 to 3 cycles to get the ceramic dust washed off correctly.
No I was talking about those readywicks. They are heat treaded or something from the factory and to be correct, they fire them to about 1800 degrees or something but the ones I received were from a place where they weren't doing it properly. I don't really remember if it was that or not, but I didn't really like them. As for the porous ceramic, yes you need to boil a few times when you get them and for general maintenance every so often
