AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST, HERE IS A GREAT WEB SOURCE FOR DIFFERENT MEDIA TYPES AND THEIR EMAIL / PHONE / ADDRESSES TO CONTACT, IN ORDER TO LET THEM KNOW WE'RE HERE AND WE'RE NOT GONNA GO DOWN WITHOUT A FIGHT!!

Write an E-Mail Message to Congress, the President and the Media!

I wrote the President and reminded him of one of his favorite sayings: "Not only is it not right, It aint right". I also sent an e-mail to Rush and Beck. While I believe they are both "out there", they love stuff like this!! In addition they have tons of followers and just a 5 minute excerpt from either of them would get 100X the attention of thousands of letters we could all send out. Keep writing those letters but also think outside the box! Any publicity we can raise showing how the FDA essentially ignores a US Judges orders is great for us and eventually the FDA will have to respond or give it up!!

njoy products are the only shipments the FDA cannot seize
:?: I am not understanding how they are allowed to do this. I thought they were told they couldn't and had already lost two appeals.

perhaps a group of suppliers need to ban together and form a coalition to file suit. There are now precedents they can follow

So I wrote to my senator using the template from the OP. I added my success story but other then that I kept it the same. Below is the reply I got three days later. It has nothing to do with my letter to her and doesn’t even touch on a single concern of mine from my letter. At best this is a cut and paste response from one of her interns and just one more punch in the ballz from a low life politician! Everyday I have less and less use for these people, on either side of the fence (which is all just smoke and mirrors anyway!) but I digress… response below…

Dear Friend: (LIKE I'M HER DAM FRIEND!..sorry, read on)
Thank you for contacting me regarding S. 982, the Family Smoking Prevention and tobacco Control Act. I welcome your thoughts and comments.

tobacco-related diseases cause more than 400,000 premature deaths in the United States each year, including 30 percent of all cancer deaths and more than 80 percent of all lung cancer deaths. Furthermore, tobacco costs the United States over $96 billion in direct medical costs each year. The impact of tobacco on the public's health and our economy should not be underestimated.

On May 5, 2009, Senator Edward Kennedy (D-MA) introduced S. 982, the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act. This legislation provides the FDA the authority to regulate tobacco products, marketing, and sales. Tobacco products are subject to the same consumer protections as those applied to other products, including ingredient disclosure, product regulation, and label and advertising approval. The Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act also includes provisions, such as a ban on artificially or candy-flavored cigarettes, that would specifically seek to restrict the direct marketing of tobacco products to children and young adults.

On Thursday, June 11, 2009, the Senate voted on H.R. 1256, companion legislation from the House of Representatives. I supported the bill, which passed the Senate by a vote of 79 to 17. President Barack Obama signed the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act into law on June 22, 2009.

I appreciate hearing from you, and I hope that you will not hesitate to keep in touch on any issue of concern to you.

Sincerely,
Kay Bailey Hutchison

This is what those who are to serve us do best.......Cut and Paste......"I appreciate hearing from you, and I hope that you will not hesitate to keep in touch on any issue of concern to you. Yea - Right. You didn't even address my letter, thus you didn't answer me at all. What kind of "appreciation" is that?

Thanks for this link. I used it too. https://wb-gop-oversight.house.gov/ Also contacted both my Senators and my Congressman.

i just sent to this as well.

unfortunately i no longer believe what we do matters. we are too low on the totem pole. the evil elite have taken over our govt, so only $$ has power to get things done. this is what happens when corruption is left unchecked for so long.

NorCal - The place to be!
One more thing.
I've always been kinda nerdy, I mean, since I was old enough to hold a screwdriver I was taking things apart(practically), and if the FDA does happen to ban e-cigs permanently(god forbid), I am certain I will be able to come up with something, homemade, that will allow me to keep on vaping, and I WILL share that information with anyone who will benefit from it. I WILL NOT STOP vaping, I don't care how much the FDA wants me to get lung cancer! Put that in your pipe and smoke it, FDA.

Hello!

I am from California and have sent letters to both of my State Senators (Feinstein & Boxer), my State Representative, and filed a few complaints with the FDA.

See the links below (may have been posted by another) for FDA contact information:
Contact CTP (tobacco)
About the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (drug)

I haven't even started my smoke-free/vaping journey yet, my VP is in the mail!!
Just wanted to make every effort in supporting this cause, as everyone on ECF has been so supportive of my efforts to leave traditional cigarettes behind me!!

Cheers!

Thanks for those 2 most excellent links Jawzun. Fantastic!
Good luck with your VP. I've only been at it since Nov. 25,2010. I quit cigarettes 2 days into vaping and have not had a desire to go back. I am elated that after 40+ years of smoking, I am now an "ex-smoker". I feel so much better too.
Best of luck to you... :vapor:

Thanks Rosco! I cannot wait to be feelin' better myself!!
Now to curtail this ridiculous legislation!!!

I got one response out of the 3 letters I sent. Here is the response I received:

Dear Mr. X,

Thank you for contacting me about electronic cigarettes. I appreciate hearing from you on this issue and sincerely regret the delayed response.

As you may know, electronic cigarettes are devices that produce a similar experience to smoking for users. They are battery powered devices that provide inhaled doses of nicotine or non-nicotine vaporized solution/Proponents of electronic cigarettes argue that the devices can help people quit smoking, and do not deliver the same carcinogens The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has argued that electronic cigarettes should be regulated like nicotine replacement gum or patches because they deliver nicotine directly to the lungs. The FDA has attempted to classify electronic cigarettes a drug delivery device so it can regulate electronic cigarettes and require a proof of their safety under the Food Drug and Cosmetics Act.

You might be interested to know that the United States Court of Appeals in Washington, DC unanimously ruled on December 7th 2010 that the FDA cannot stop the importation of electronic cigarettes, and that the FDA must regulate electronic cigarettes as tobacco products. Please be assured I will keep your thoughts about this issue in mind should I have the opportunity to vote on it in the Senate.

Thank you again for contacting me to share your thoughts on this matter. You may also be interested in signing up for periodic updates for Washington State residents. If you are interested in subscribing to this update, please visit my website at Maria Cantwell - U.S. Senator from Washington State. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future if I can be of further assistance.

Sincerely,
Maria Cantwell
United States Senator
I'd have to say either they have gotten a lot of these letters so they have a canned response, or someone actually has researched my complaint.
