Why don't expensive APVs & other high-end vape gear fall under similar potential exemptions as premium cigars, based on Mitch's reasoning?

54:00 mark

(mentioned this before...) Esp. in light of the pages spent on the deeming doc telling how cigars are unhealthy to every part of the body vs. with ecigarettes - 'we just don't know enough about them'.

Given that I'm wondering if Mitch would have preferred a table of various ecigs rather than the 'hookah museum' he saw when visiting his older daughter during her "bridge year" in Israel. Just on his own view of second hand smoke, you'd think he would prefer vapor instead.

But then again, what might be good for him and his, is different for us.

A snarky comment to the FDA might be - since you're going to force me to abandon ecigarettes with the proposed deeming, could you ask Mr. Zeller to ask his older daughter whether she or her friends think it would be safer using hookah pipes rather than just going back to regular cigarettes.

Whew. That was a helluva way to spend the first hour and a half of a vacation.
Every time I listen to things like this I come come away with the impression that unlike some people who oppose vaping based on ignorance and brainwashing, Zeller absolutely knows the truth. I could never live a life of devoting myself to regulation for regulation's sake, what sort of people are these?

On ecigs... If it is a component or part it will be regulated. If it's an accessory - case, tobacco holder, no....
they can only regulate in as far as what the law already states is a component or part of a finished tobacco product.
that's any component or part to be used in the consumption of a tobacco product.it literally means consumed along with the tobacco.
cigarette papers, glue and filters.we do not consume the coil, wick, tank,or battery along with the juice.i believe technically they have no jurisdiction to do so no matter what they say in the deeming regs.dont get me wrong,i am not saying they are not going to try.
they talk as if they can but they have to know otherwise.they seem to think it is a fate accomplie.after reading the white house response to the petition concerning any ban i am beginning to believe they think they can create new law out of whole cloth.
just like obama.

I know the argument well. I hope that is the case, but I don't believe it is. We'll see.

i hope so as well.their doing the old end run.they know smoking and now vaping has been so demonized the general public wont notice nor care what they try to get by with.throw in the we must do this for the chillin' and our elected officials would be very wary of calling them on it.and of course there's the money.

This video makes me even more confident that we (vapers) have less to worry about than doomsayers are leading some to believe is the case.

Admittedly, my outlook is aided by the SBA letter, but also aided by what I imagine around 2000 vapers will be submitting to the FDA during comment period (all making case with supported reasoning for why FDA must not be harsh with eCig regulations). Add in a few (dozen) national legislators on our side, and I am not saying there is zero to be concerned about (never have said this), but am saying the market will be open for the foreseeable future. What will that look like 5 to 10 years from now? Who knows for sure? But I'm feeling confident about wager I made a few weeks ago and after 4/24/14.

Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled doomsday scenarios...
