On a rock floating through space
I'm looking to diy my first mod. Wondering what features the mod veterans consider important, not just in a first mod, but any mod.
I like madvapes DIY VV kit Variable Volt Box Mod Kit with a few changes (most importantly that case. I know box mods are well loved around here, but the last thing I want is people asking my why I'm smoking a cell phone. I'm sure I can find a nice tchotchke to stuff the important bits into. I've one idea already but I'd hate to ruin a fine charaton if it turns out wrong.
Any other bits that should be added to the circuit, or perhaps bits replaced with better parts? I want to do this right the first time so I have a piece that will always be good, even if I catch mod fever.
So vets: if you were building a mod to last a lifetime, how would you do it?

Thanks for the input guys. My decision is that for my first mod I'm going to build a fairly simple circuit, 3.7v, just to get the idea. my second will be vv for sure. I have the cases for both.
I had to look up a catch cup. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-my-juice-feeder-sytem-catch-cup-provari.html that system looks very interesting and I think will be a must for my second mod
I've seen bottom feeders... I'll try one some day but I honestly don't think they will do it for me. I carry 2-3 tanks of different flavors everywhere (soon to be cartos yaaaay no more flavor transition bleh). I like a variety, even though I probably have my favorite juice nailed down (vanilla almond tobacco by velvet vapors. I love this stuff!)

My simple solution for a juice well
    P1000469.jpg

The 510/eGo adaptor from Avid has a bottom collar for the cone to set on.
Then just trim an old eGo cone to the proper length.
Can also use the Avid DSC on that same adaptor.

As for the features that a mod must have; whatever floats my boat at the moment.
