I'm waiting for my Mavapes VV box mod to arrive now. The linear regulator they use does dissipate heat due to the nature of the linear regulator having to dissipate the power that isn't sent to the atty. I like PWM and will probably experiment and change out the regulator in the madvapes box as I tinker and play with it.
OTOH, if you vape at 5v and above, most of the energy goes to the atty coil and the heat dissipated by the regulator is minimal, from what I read about it.
