Hi. After reading many threads about 510 vs 808 for beginners I made up my mind to go for the latter.
However I'd appreciate some clarification on the following:

Can the 180, 280 or 380 battery handle a boge 2.0 ohm cartomizer?

What is the current 808 cartomizer generation. I've read many 2nd generation quotes then
stumbled upon a store offering some 3rd generation ones.

Do the battery capacity endings *00, *50, *80 reveal something about their manufacturing date?

To the best of my knowledge, there is no boge 2ohm carto for 808's
the battery capacity endings reveal nothing about the date of manufacture
The 180,280,380 you refer to is the mah rating(how much energy they can store)
on mod batteries the numbers refer to size(diameter, length)and mah rating,Some brands are a little optomistic with their mah rating
18650=18mm dia.,65mm length,0-means round cell(sizes vary some brand to brand, even same brands vary a little)
The volt kit from smokelessimage is a darn good 808,There may be better, but I'm not aware of them

No - slim ecigs are not supposed to use LR (low resistance) cartomizers. The general rules is 400mah or 450mah and up. In practice that ends up being 650mah and up - i.e. the fat battery Ego-style models and various mods. The Boge 2.0 (LR) cartos that are popular are 510 threaded ones people use on Ego and Riva 510 (fat battery models) and mods.

However, at a solid 3.7v, is KR808D-1 is a higher voltage battery than any 510 including Ego, so the 2.5-ish ohm KR808D-1 cartos (like Vapor4Life WOW cartos) have good heat on KR8 batteries. I use a plastic or delrin drip tip as a cool mouthpiece (not to drip into).

BTW - someone says the latest KR808D-1 batteries at LiteCigUSA.net are not good (too bad since their previous ones were great) so I recommend Vapor4Life manuals or Smokeless Image Volt manuals (only some of their colors have manuals available).

Carto generations - no idea what you are talking about. Are you looking at CE2/Clearomizer/Fluxomizers or something? I don't use cartos that need a syringe. And i don;t know if Smokeless Image has had generations of its cartos. I usually use Vapor4Life WOW blanks.

No idea what you mean by *00???? There is a new type of KR808D-1 threaded batteries that Smokeless Image Volt uses that supposedly have somewhat higher mah compared to the standard KR808D-1 like Vapor4Life. Like I think Smokeless claim 320mah for the standard size vs 280mah for the standard size normal KR808D-1's. Try whichever you want but I recommend manuals.

100mah is about 1 hour of moderate vaping. A light vaper will get more. A very heavy vaper will get less. Putting a hotter carto like Vapor4Life WOW carts and other near-LR cartos will use the charge faster than using a cooler carto like Vapor4Life coolcarts which have somewhat higher ohms (and thus use charge slower).

Smokeless Image has a very nice sale going on for their 808 - Volt 23% off everything - if you enter "Heatwave" into the coupon code area, BTW, they are offering the New Larger PCC with the Volt Pro.

Also Halo has a 808 - called a "G6" - which is also very nice - of course IMHO. Hope this information helps = AND WELCOME to ECF and the "world of Vaping" . . . :D

I had no idea about this. Ty.
Boge 2.0, 2.8 Carto for 808

I use a plastic or delrin drip tip as a cool mouthpiece (not to drip into)
[x] Totally forgot about that.

Haha Now that you put the hair into consideration no way i'm choosing the 510!

Currently I have an 180mAh 808. Many friends are interested in the ecig and asked me if I could buy them kits.
That's how I got into the 510 vs 808 dilemma...

Too many choices ...

Thank your for the suggestions on where to buy them. Since I'm buying in the ~15 range (selling and presents as well)I'm looking at the cheapest shipping possible. Fortunately some CN based suppliers offer this.

180mah is the shortest life KR808D-1 battery

280mah is the standard life KR808D01 battery (about 60% longer charge than the 180mah)

Re those Boge cartos- just because they make 2.0's does not mean they should be used on slim batteries. There are fat battery 901/KR808D-1 compatible models with 650mah and larger batteries that can use those 2.0's. I love the 510 Boges but I did not like the 2.8ohm Boge cartos for 808 - not hot enough for me. I prefer cartos that are around 2.5ohm on my KR808D-1 slim minis - I used Vapor4Life WOW cartomizers which seems to be around 2.5ohm. And I got some white L-Rider 2.5 ohms cartos for KR808D at Madvapes (they are out of the black).

Bottom line - you can try the 2.0's but they will be darn hot and may damage the slim batteries, lowering their ability to hold charge and their ability to signal a low charge condition. I wish Boge would make 2.5's for KR808D-1. They would also use your charge up extra fast.

But maybe you would like the Boge 2.8's fine. I have gotten my nicotine down to very very low (4mg) so I need the heat of the 2.5 cartos to feel the bit of hit.

I love my 808s. I use the xl's (120mm) exclusively and they hold a great charge as far as battery life goes. Along with the great suggestions here, I'd recommend checking out NHaler - he carries a nice variety of everything. I finally settled on perfect cartos for the 808s with the volt blanks from Smokeless Image (normal size carto-MF style) but my top fav is the Jumbo Dripper MF Style Cartos - holds nearly 3mls of liquid and vape great - IMO. NHaler sells the jumbo drippers too. MF Style 808s - getting pretty good reviews (bloog style) but I built up my stock pile between V4L, LiteCig and another vendor I wouldnt refer you to (good product - just extremely overpriced) and I have a total of 10  I did this mostly to compare products. When one of the ones I have now finally crashes and burns (because sooner or later they all will) I will get a Maxx Fusion 808 and check that out.

Nhaler

I did just also order a Riva 510 Lite Bundle specifically for testing juices with the atty. It's a whole unit (meaning uses cartos also) but I just wanted a way around ruining a carto sampling juices - I got that from Liberty Flights -

I l (normal size carto-MF style)
Can't seem to picture what MF stands for... The only thing that comes to my mind is magic find.

(good product - just extremely overpriced)
Probably the same one I got my couples' kit from hahaha.

I'd really like to buy from the suppliers that got mentioned however my options are limited.
I haven't found one yet that offers worldwide shipping with low rates to Bolivia. Most are in the $40 range via Usps.
