The PG in juice is what causes the break down of polycarbonate. Mix PG with "acidic" flavoring and you create a pretty quick and nasty solvent for polycarbon plastics.

It is not PG that causes polycarbonate to disintegrate.

It is ingredients in a limited number of specific flavors which can have a volatile reaction with polycarbonate plastic. If those volatile ingredients are not present in PG, there is no kind of reaction. The same can be held true for VG.

Please do not make blanket statements that are not accurate which can cause undue alarm for new vapors. If you have evidence to prove otherwise, please provide a link for verification.

Do you have any reference for this, cause I'd like to use a few clear tanks too?
Please see the post directly above for the link.

Polypropylene is a plastic material safe for use with the volatile flavors. It is the same material used in medical syringes. It has a frosted appearance, unlike the crystal clear plastic of polycarbonate.

510 Pro DCTank Combo Polypropylene DCT tank kits for $21.

If you want a safe tank that is clear, choose a pyrex glass tank:

IBTanked - Get Tanked With Us!

This vendor makes high quality, decorative, yet inexpensive glass tanks for less than $18.

The Vision Vivi Nova V2 is polypropylene and safe to use with your juices. There are now CE clearomizers also made of polypropylene. Before you get rid of your clearomizers it would be worth emailing the vendors and asking if they are made of polycarbonate or polypropylene. You may have the newer kind.

Interesting. Most I've seen still look like clear polycarbon tanks.

In reality ... plastics and heat are a bad idea in general. Let alone in inhalation systems.
It's something I've generally been pretty wise to ... which is why I'm kicking myself.

Anyone know of any non-carto glass tank systems? Having a mini nova sized glass tank that accepts the nova's hardware would be amazing.

Get a DID clone and IBTanked sells a glass tank that will fit it.

First the silica wicks may not be safe - now the clearo tubes - WT? This is getting to more than a hobby - more like a research/science project...........

What's the concern with silica? Heat wise it should be perfectly fine. Are people saying the juice has a chemical reaction with the wick?

After several uses (rinsing and dry burning and what not) silica tends to break off into tiny little shards - so supposedly these microscopic shards mix in the juice and could enter ones lungs/throat etc with the vapor - there is a 500+ page post on safe vs dangerous wicks. Well anyways - no proof - except a couple of ppl wrote they had something stuck in their throat. So any ways - after reading all that and getting advice from other vapers - I decided to ditch silica and go with 100% cotton and/or bamboo wicks.....
