I spent about $500-1000 trying different ecig products over a year ago, were all donated, and now currently very deep within some far distant compost salvage site. They didn't do much for me, flavor; great, vapor; awesome, throat hit; present, feel; it was like smoking a 10 squared triple ultra light, cool for someone who never smoked before, but for someone who has, it was like trying to get drunk drinking carbonated water.

Overall, the emulated motion associated with smoking a cigarette was very close to rock solid, except for how you had to hold the device, weight issues, it was like smoking a pipe rather than a cigarette. Even closer to overall, I felt like I was ripped off, severely, and exploited based on a very destructive habit and how good it sounded finding something described as a safer alternative, and how this product would go globally main stream when the word got out about how successful this market will be, blah, I am however, not here to trash at all, I’m here to try again.

I've read about people experimenting adding ingredients to increase stimulation, this was something in a very early stage, I would like more updated info on progress about this if any of these methods were successful. I did a quick search but to no avail, and this is not something I can’t afford to do, or no longer desire to, experiment myself. I will give this market one more chance. If someone out there who reads this went through something like this during the early stages and now has something that they are comfortable with, and please, only someone who smoked who no longer does, I am interested in a suggestion for something else to try.

I don't plan to waste my time listing what I’ve tried. This is electronics, this was over a year ago, I want to try the evolved from. I'm more interested in liquid suggestions more so than the devices, unless drastic differences are present. Feel is really what I’m going for, that’s why smokers smoke.

I'm not looking to get rid of the habit, just find the safer alternative that feels good. Suggestions, recommendations, etc, appreciated. I live in Daytona Beach Florida; I would also like to know how I can find out about local suppliers in this area. Thanks for reading, and once again, anything appreciated.

Welcome H2O.

You want to be getting some high nic (as Jimi suggested) e-juice and try out some mint flavours as a suggestion. Good hit and leaves pleasant aftertone. I was never a menthol smoker, but find it works for me. Koolade flavouring is also good as it adds a cool feeling without altering the taste too much.

WTA Sounds great but not available atm, unfortunately (I wanna try it too)

water1234 welcome to ECF! Sounds like you need high nic content, like jimi D. said, I'd recommend some nuty flavors, like choco Hazelnut or something like it. I lived in FL for some time and to my knowledge there are no great distributers down there but around there there some good ones - try dfw vapor for one, I have bought plenty of stuff from them.

If size isn't an issue, I suggest going with a Riva Indulgence V3 mod and a box of dual coil cartomizers (can be purchased at most vendors). As for juice, I would at least start with 24mg...the higher the mg, the stronger the throathit (you need to adjust the strength in terms of what your body tells you...symptoms of being too strong).

For a list of vendors in your state...try here...VaporSearchUSA

Water, your post is felt. One thing to consider is that every body assimilates nicotine differently. And, nicotine does not absorb via the lungs with vaping; it is absorbed more through the mouth and nasal cavity. It actually takes more vaping to get the nicotine fix, then when one inhales smoke. I stopped smoking immediately with vaping. Very few to zero cravings for cigs. Every now and then I drive by a place where I would pic up a pack of smokes and have that first one after opening the pack, and that ritual is a bit alluring, but have never succumb to the temptation. I like vaping better than smoking. It is a pain in the .... sometimes, compared with the ease of lighting up, but it is more enjoyable as a habit. If that makes sense.

There have been many advances in the technology in the past year. Jimi D's suggestion is about as good as it gets for new advances - however, it does not "feel" like you are holding a cig when you have a mod in your hand. These things are not light it up and toss it, they have batteries (as you well know) and much of what makes the experience better with vaping is dependent on the size and function of the battery. Especially with the new technology that has become wide spread in the past year, since you were vaping.

It is your body, and you know you want a "healthier" way to get your nic fix. However, only you can make it work. Granted, if the system does not work, no matter what you do will not make it work. But, vaping does work, there are thousands on ECF that have completely quit smoking. Just read the posts and you will see this rather clearly.

Think of how much of a hassle automobiles were when they were first replacing horses. At first they were far more expensive and the technology was a hassle, compared to just feeding the horse and getting on it. Ecigs are bit like that, in that they started off with pretty bad technology and are improving each year. Even if this round doesn't work for you, check back in a year, they will get even better! : )

Good luck.

I find a 510-t automatic battery, with a boge cartomizer is pretty on part with the size of a regular cigarette if you want to still hold it like a cigarette. Automatic has it's down sides (juice leaking into the batter), and 510t batteries are only 180 mah so theyll last you maybe an hour or so, and the e-cig never get's lighter as it burns down to the ..... But you get to hold it like a cig, and boge cartos make for a decent vape.

However, vaping will never truly be like smoking, nor will smoking be completely like vaping. The vaping community is large and extensive, and if you need advice to steer you from buying low quality, unsatisfying products that won't fit your needs, we can do that. We can help you work towards having the satisfying vape that will keep you from smoking. But it will never be smoking. You can give this "market one more chance", but you have to realize, that vaping needs to give you one more chance. What are your options if this doesn't work out? Do you just go back to smoking? If you don't make this work, what are the odds that you'll find anything better?

Sorry if this sounds stern, it's in writing, picture a more asian pleading tone:p

Vaping can be good, and it can be great, but at the end of the day, you have choose if you want to smoke or vape

I don't know how much has changed in a year's time but there are certainly plenty of new models to choose from - and it sounds like you need at least 5v so you'd probably do well with a VV mod of some kind and low resistance cartomizers.

Make sure that your nic level is high enough to satisfy your cravings. I started at 36mg and stayed there for over a year because I knew that I needed it to stay off the cigs. Now I'm vaping at 19mg and eventually I'll lower it but I'm in no rush. My primary goal is to avoid smoking whilst feeling like I *am* smoking. Mission accomplished.

Now, this is where things can be confusing. Most of the time when people say "feel" about vapeing, they are talking about throat hit. With that in mind, the basic idea more nic=more throat hit so more nic is more feel.

Another possibility, the feeling in your lungs on inhale. When I first stared vapeing, people asked "Is there a big difference?"
I had to answer "you know that feeling in your lungs that you know cant be good for you while you smoke? I kinda miss that." Well, that might be helped with some VG in your juice.

Is it a literal sucking on a straw feeling? That would be the "draw" of the device. Some atty and cartridge set-ups did feel like a sttraw. Cartomizers have become more common in the past year, they have a better draw IMO.

VG is also has a more substantial feel in the mouth, thicker one might say. a bit of VG in the blend can add a lot of substance.

Also with flavor, some can taste very good, but not compliete. its like eating a jalopino pepper. Wow, thats good, now where is the food. but a chopped pepper mixed with some beef and rice wraped up with a tortia offeres a more compleate flavor.

Totally Wicked sells a Decadent Vapor product called diablo loco that I like but I don't see mentioned very often.

I mix it very sparingly - meaning 2 drops in 3ml PG (or VG, depending on your preference) and then one drop of that mixture to a 1 or 2 ml of liquid.

I am a throat hit junkie that no mod or level of nic could satisfy. And, while I tend to refer to the sensation it gives as throat hit, it's really more than that. It also changes the mouth feel, making it more prominent, giving it a rougher feeling than regular vapor.

I also find that if I add two drops of the diluted mixture to my juice, it is very harsh, so finding the right ratio is the key.

Here is TW's description:

Pain in a bottle! (the concentrate measures approx. 500,000 SHU on the Scoville Heat Scale - That's 1-200x hotter than Tobasco Sauce!) Juice condiment, made using the hottest chillis in the world - and designed for spicing up other juices. If a single drop is too hot for you, dilute it to 1-10% with PG, VG or PEG-400. This is insanely hot, you have been warned!

If you're interested, here's the link.

I smoked for a little over 40 years and never had a desire to quit because I truly enjoyed it. What I didn't enjoy was the inconveniences of today's smoke-free world and the hacking, coughing, snorting, short-windness, etc. . . . you know what I mean, because you're a smoker. I haven't had a cigarette since the third day with my first PV and haven't wanted one. They're still in the frig if I do, and that is a testament that vaping worked for this old gal. Do I get the "feel" of smoking from vaping . . . no. Do I miss it . . . sometimes. But in those moments I "play" with the vapor and enjoy learning how to get the most from this little life-saver friend of mine.

I've tried multiple e-liquid flavors and find I just want tobacco . . . a little menthol since that's what I smoked for the last 30 years, but tobacco is a must for me. REAL tobacco flavor. . . and aroma. This and vapor is much more important to me than throat hit. And I pretty quickly found the right one for me. I've cut my nic down to only 12 mg and I'm content to enjoy the smell and taste of lightly mentholed tobacco. Do I wish it would hit the bottom of my lungs and exhale in a strong stream half-way across the room . . . yes. But that would mean more damage to my lungs and overall health, so I happily accept that vaping will not replace that kind of "feel".

I don't know what you're experiences with vaping in the past was, or exactly what about the "feel" is most important to you, but I do know that with a little patience, a lot of commitment, and ECF, you'll find what you need to get off the cigarettes, contently and satisfied. But you won't replace everything about smoking . . . and that's a good thing!

Wishing you wellness and happiness and the very best of luck in your venture!!!!!!!
