Howdy!
I am still relatively new to this scene. Thanks to all the folks here for making me feel welcome and for all the guidance I have received! :)

With that in mind, I dont have much in the way of gear to give to this community, and was wondering what I could do to help with this PIF community. I built my first box mod recently - not a work of art by any stretch!

But, after using it with a great atty I got from Bianca, my opinion of vaping changed forever. :D

So, to cut this somewhat short- I wanted to see if anyone wanted a VV box mod that I could do the soldering/building for folks who dont have the gear, knowledge, ability, time, or whatever. I figured that perhaps some folks simply cannot do this by themselves, and I could do it for them. :) So an example of how this might happen: You send parts, I build/solder/test/etc.. for you. Or any number of other combinations of that idea - you buy the parts, I build it for you.

So let me know if there is interest in this - I would be happy to be your hands on this - either from simply soldering a circuit to building a basic box mod for you.
If you are interested in this or would simply like for me to help you out, however I can on this, let me know - would be happy to do so to try and PIF!

Post here - let me know - and we can work out the private details in PM

Thanks!

:D

Keep off those analogs - they taste like garbage put through a yuck filter - 1 month 7 days no analogs here! /dance

Edit: VV is just one option, I could do 3.7v or 5v as well - :)

:)

Good point about the parts - I will use parts/prices from madvapes as an example to give folks a rough idea. I also have some other ideas for building more efficient VV boxes (switching vs. linear - could be as high as 90+% efficient!) - but the below information for the basic.

qty cost description
1 1.99 510 Battery Connector, Sealed
1 1.99 3 x AA Battery Box
1 7.99 Variable Voltage Regulator Board Kit Rev 2
1 1.79 Horn style switch -- Black
1 .89 5mm Slow color changing led
1 .59 3mm Red LED

optional (may not need if you already have 14500 batteries/charger)
2 4.79 Ultrafire Protected 14500 Battery, 900 mAH
1 9.99 TrustFire TR-001 Lithium Ion Battery Charger

and whatever shipping comes out to.

So, if you already have batteries/charger - $15.24+shipping for a vv box mod, and if you need batteries/charger, $34.81+shipping.
The above is pretty much what I built for my first vv setup - great for the money!

the downsides:
assumes you have a multimeter/something to measure voltage with. You can get voltmeters for pretty cheap - online or local (especially if you have a harborfreight around!).
Its plastic box - so not all that sturdy. Not really fragile either - but I dont think it would handle a ton of abuse.
Im not a company, just a guy trying to help - so there isnt a warranty to speak of. :)

the pluses:
you can fine tune the flavor to the voltage/atty you are using.
Doesnt cost all that much to start playing with a VV setup.
All that other stuff you read about VV ;)

hope that helps as far as a rough reference.
Thanks!

Can you drill the holes out for the switch and atty connector in a red box like madvapes sales, or do you only do the predrilled units? I busted the heck out of a red box. I have one left but nothing to drill it with. If so, would this offer stand for a standard 3.7v box mod. I already have all of the stuff but I also have a 2 year old and there's no time for messing with making things like that. I like to keep these boxmods around. They're extremely handy. I actually have family who sometimes vape on them when they visit but my cousin took my last one home with her. I've found that most of the new vapers prefer the little box to other mods. They never used my icon, I would slap hands if they reach for the Buzz. I really wanted twin red boxes and cussed a little when I broke it.

Well, I would most definitely be happy to give it my best! I didnt break my box when I drilled it, so I am pretty certain that I could do your as well, unless the plastic is drastically different. If thats the case, I think I have some bits that would work fine for that as well - would need to see the plastic type.
But would be happy to build that/drill it/whatever you would like. :)

It's like the red one on this page except that it's the smaller 3.7 box. Seems to be a bit more brittle than the standard black boxes. I'm sure it just needs a different drill bit to match the plastic.

Mod Kits
If I can send you the stuff just pm me. I have the led, resistor, atty connector, switch, and of course the box. I think that covers it right? The connectors that I have are sealed and prewired and I wouldn't mind the led just being inside the box as opposed to drilling a hole and putting it through to the outside.

I have been oogling the laser light mods. They look super simple, if you can drill a straight hole, which for some reason I can not. I don't have the stuff for it yet, I'm a little confused on which 510 connector from Madvapes to get. There are so many. I would really appreciate someone who knows about this stuff doing it for me. This is such a generous offer!

I would absolutely love to have you do this! But I currently have very little budget but I will most definitely let you know when I can!

Awesome idea & way to PIF!

Btw for the VV could you add one of these so one would know what the voltage was at? It is a little pricey for overall cost but seems worth it for convenience.

Any combination of what you wanted could be done really :)
The listing was just one suggestion. I haven't checked the measurements - but I would think that with a 4 cell box you could have the voltage display built in rather than using the the plug option.
:). Will be happy to work something up for you when you are ready.

I went ahead and ordered the stuff. If you don't think you can do it I might be able to talk my dad, or dh into helping me. I was just hoping to get someone who's actually made one of these before to help me with it. You have offered a GREAT service to the people here, even if the one I want isn't in your repertoire. :)

Mornin :)

I finished reading through that long thread - it looks neat for sure. But I havent built one of those, and would hate to muck up something in the process of learning. I think the biggest thing on that one is having a dremel to cut down the laser housing portion and routing out the endcap, a drill press for the atty, and an actual press for insertion of the atty into the housing.

So with all that said, I wouldn't feel comfortable learning on someone elses dime or parts. Perhaps in a month or so I will have some time to invest in a few more design directions and will be able to help then.

Sorry! I wanted to help with this for you - but I dont think its a good idea for me to do right now. :)
