I made the jump and got myself a Titan this week, after a few days of playing around I feel a bit let down, maybe I'm doing it wrong?

I find at a time I take maybe 5 puffs and this satisfies me, but unlike a regular cig that would satisfy me for an hour this does about 10 mins, I also find the first puff the strongest and most satisfying, by the 5th its like smoking a silk cut ultra.

But as I say I maybe doing it wrong but I feel very let down.

I found when I swapped over (I used to smoke 8mg cigarettes and swapped to 8mg liquid) that I pretty much had the same thing. I've since learned on here that I probably should have started on a higher strength liquid. I used to vape heaps more when I first made the big change, but I figured who cares? This is a healthier alternative. Gradually I found that it improved, I guess my body got used to the different amount of nicotine?? I use the analogy of coke vs diet coke when I explain to smokers what vaping is like. It's still effectively the same thing (ie getting nicotine into your body) but it takes getting used to as it tastes/feels slightly different. And once you get used to it, there is no way you'd ever go back to the first.

also, i think one of the most helpful info i got on here when I first tried to switch over was the knowledge that I wasn't simply addicted to nicotine, but to many other toxins which can be found in cigarettes. That bit of info really helped in staying the course in the beginning stages of the switch, because I felt like vaping wasn't satisfying enough and I couldn't put my finger on as to why.

I figured, if I was getting the nicotine that I needed, and the oral fixation, that should be as simple as that, yet something was off. However, armed with the knowledge that nicotine wasn't the only thing holding me back I was in a better position mentally to stick it out and defeat the subtle multi-layered addictions that had a hold on me.

These so called secondary addictions where much easier to overcome, once you removed the big one from the equation (nicotine that is). SO give it a few days and I believe you will start to find it, easier and easier to deal with and finally overcome.

When I started vaping I never looked back but with that said it still took a couple of weeks for me to adjust from cigs to vaping, I smoked for a lil over 30yrs so everything changed when I started vaping I started out with 18mg prefilled cartos then soon went to filling my own playing around with different nic strengths untill I found what I needed to calm the nic cravings. It does work, it will work you just have to find your sweet spot and then its vaping heaven.

I smoke 20 cigs a day usually roll ups so they do have that bigger hit anyway. I'm using 18mg fluid at the min, I bought tobacco flavoured and it tastes nothing like tobacco. I've only been experimenting this past few days, I have enough tobacco left to last until tomorrow/Monday and then i'm gonna give the titan a proper fulltime testing, I suppose its just getting used to it. Out of interest when vaping how many puffs do you usually take at a time or does it matter? As I say the more I take in a row with the titan the less of a hit I get at the back of the throat, the first one is the strongest and has made me cough on some occasions its so strong but then it dies out.

Smoking and vaping are a bit different.... one thing with vaping, take long slow gentle drags..you get more vapor that way. Also the nicotine delivery is different, smoking is like taking a shots of whiskey, vaping more like sipping pints of bitters. Both will work, one just faster than another...:) As far as the flavor being like tobacco, there's lots of different ones to try but the burning vegetable matter flavor just doesn't come through.. ..after a while you may find the other flavors much better. Don't hesitate to try some strange ones, they may become your favorites.

p.s. Welcome to ECF !!

18mg is considered in the "medium" range for nicotine levels. When you're first starting out, it may help to get something a bit higher (especially for the biggest craving times).

I've heard the tank systems don't give as big of a throat hit as using a regular atty or cartomizer. They tend to have a cooler vape to them.

As for how many puffs to take at a time, many of us sucked on our PVs like pacifiers when starting out. You'll know if you're getting too much nicotine just the same as you would if you smoked too many cigarettes in a row. If you do, just adjust your nicotine level to accommodate.

Try getting a few different levels of e-liquid (24-36mg), maybe a couple of extra atomizers and cartomizers to experiment with, and don't be afraid to use your PV as much as you need to help get your through the first few weeks.

Welcome and happy vaping:)

Its an automatic, no button

That's one part of the problem right there - auto batteries instead of manual. Plus, that is a small battery model which will be much more inconsistent than a good beginner model.

Better battery models provide warmer vapor and more consistency, not to mention a much longer time on a charge. With your model, since the battery is small, as it drains, it is not able to vaporize the liquid as well and performance suffers.

I would suggest getting a better model with manual batteries that will provide warmer vapor and better control to the user. You will still be able to use the atomizers you currently have. An E-Power 510 or a Riva would be a good "beginner" model to check out.

I also strongly encourage you to get a manual bigger 510 battery. Manual batteries give you better control and more feedback, autobatteries are passive and inconsistent. Invest in some higher level nicotine juice (when I quit I used a minimum of 24mg juice). For me, it took longer for the nicotine to hit my brain and soothe it, and you can't just monster inhale like one does with an analog, just realize you might need to spend more time vaping to get the fix needed to get you off the analogs.

I had a similar problem to you when i first started. You probably want to up your MG dosage unless you are on 24MG already then dont go higher than that it really is unhealthy imo.

What you will also find is that you will vape more than you did when you smoked, i vape vigouraously throughout the day every 10 minutes or so when im at home as a comfort blanket if you want to look at it that way.

Non smoker now for over 20 days

Hi! I am new to vaping too. on day 12. as other's have said, vaping and smoking are different - so going into it expecting it to be the same, will lead to dissapointment. there's great feedback here thus far. what I can say from my experience is that I am vaping more than I was smoking, but when I smoked I would have a cig about after half hour to hour, and it would last me. vaping, I vape pretty often and it doesn't last as long. but i'll take a few "puffs", put it down, take few more "puffs" put it down, etc. for me a big component is the nic level and the vapor level, depending on what you are using (cartomizers vs. attys/refill cartridges). I find cartomizers work better (2 piece e-cig), but I also have a 3 piece e-cig which I use for refilling yummy flavored juices. it's definitely a challenge to find your vaping groove, i'm still trying to find mine. this forum is great for that, so many people are helpful and there's a lot of good information. overall I find I enjoy vaping much more than I ever did smoking. best of luck to you and happy vaping :vapor:

A larger battery ecig will give you more vaping between charges as well as the ability to supply more stable voltage to the atomizer. Vaping requires more frequent hits than a cigarette. Less nicotine is absorbed from the mist created by an ecig. With a cigarette, you are inhaling tar that stays in your lungs for a while. The particles of combustion are small enough to enter the air sacs in the lungs. Ecig vapor droplets are actually too large to enter the air sacs (a good thing). Most of the nicotine is absorbed through the tissues in your mouth and sinuses. Try exhaling through your nose slowly for a greater nic hit.

For $29.95 you can get a Riva 510 starter kit that contains two complete Riva 510 ecigs with 750mah batteries (5 to 6 hours heavy vaping between charges), a cone (dresses up the Ecig), and a charger, along with a nice leatherette box.

The Riva 510 is a 3.7v version of the Ego style ecig (3.4v). It will accept any accessory with a 510 thread. That opens up a multitude of options that you will see discussed here on ECF.

Click the 20% off icon at the top of the page to get the $29.95 price.

It's also available in a Boge carto version for $34.99. You get all the parts in the Riva 510 Lite Bundle along with 10 Boge 510 cartos (a $16 value by themselves).

There are thousands, if not more, members who vape 36mg nicotine strength liquid with no issues. Everyone is different. Some people can't handle 12mg liquid. You would have to swallow a whole bottle to do real harm.
