Hello all.... I'm posting this thread hopefully to get some help b4 I completely give up on this whole vaping thing. I quit smoking Oct 21st and started vaping and I'm feeling really discouraged right now and almost ready to give up. I'm hoping for some help/enc4ouragement b4 I do that. I REALLY wanna be successful this time with giving up the nasty smokes but I gotta tell ya..... I miss that tobacco flavor and am soooooo tired of throwing money away for bottles and bottles of e-juices that just end up in the garbage bcuz they taste hideous! I really like all the sweet flavors but you can only take so much of that b4 it starts to give you a nauseated feeling. I started this adventure with the blu e-cigs and the flavors in those were awesome so that held me for a few days but the nicotene cravings weren't being satisfied so I knew I had to go with something a little stronger or I'd definitely give up. I picked up a cheap eGo-T E-cigarette at a local tobacco shop along with some e-juice and with no idea what I was doing, began to vape with that. Within several days I started reading everything I could possibly find on this topic to see what I was doing wrong. My juice was tasting burnt and I didn't know why.... it was leaking all over the place... i think i wore more than i vaped ....and I was way overwhelmed with it all!! Well I've since learned about atomizers, cartomizers, clearomizers, tanks, blah blah, blah but I still have dang leaking issues and can't figure out why and I just never seem satisfied and feel like I vape constantly! Seriously....it's like a dam pacifier :blush:....lol. ok well I'm done ranting... any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks to all in advance!!:)

Hey there. Sorry you are having problems. Tell us a little about what brand and how much you smoked. What level nicotine are you using now in your ecig? Also, tell us what sort of juice delivery device you are using (clearo? If so, what brand, what resistance (ohms) is the coil)? What voltage are you setting your spinner to? All of these things will help us figure out what's happening.

You said you went to a vape store. Did they have flavors you can test there? Most of my local vape shops will allow you to test all their flavors. My favorite one has them all set up on the counter and ready to try. You can spend as much time as you want testing. I find that's really the best way to find a flavor you like. To be sure, you can't tell if you are going to eventually get tired of it, but at least you know it's vapable.

You're going through what just about every vaper goes through at some time or another.

First off, your juice tastes burnt because your voltage was too high. Not all juice Vapes the same way. I recently tried T3 KangerTech cartomizer tank. Nice tank, but it burnt my juice. Switched back to a tank using standard Boge cartomer.

Problem solved.

As for the leaks...I don't get that problem with the tank I purchased. But you might want to leave tanks alone for awhile and juice use cartos until you find something that works. I gave up tanks for a long time until I found a good one.

While I wouldn't recommend the Provari for newbies, but that device has proven to be trouble free. Saved me from jumping between various devices that failed to work long term.

Hang in there...it's part of the process. Find what works and stick with it.

The two posters after me reminded me that I also should have said "don't give up!" It is true that almost every vaper goes through these learning curves. Part of it is getting the right equipment and part of it is just learning how to deal with the equipment you have. Every device has its quirks, and nothing is ever perfect. Once you find something that works reasonably well for you, you then spend some time learning how to deal with its quirks.

Somewhere
Is it the eGo-T with a little tank that you fill up? Those are famous for burnt flavor if the wick gets dry. Can you post a link to your setup or a pic?

Does it look like this?

Thanks for ur quick reply.... i believe what I'm using is a 1.8o... dont know anything about resistance or even what it means.... lol this is probably some cheapy knock off brand because the packaging has no name on it. It's probably something the guy at the tobacco Shoppe had sent in from Hong Kong or somewhere like that. That's not even something the shop guy asked or shared. I'm pretty sure it's a atomizer tho.... As far as flavors.... I've tried something called USA blend, ry4, and johnson creeks domestic. I really liked Johnson Creeks blend but the throat hit is not there with it. It has a smooth good flavor but just not good enough. I guess at this point I just feel like I've wasted so much money, almost as much as I would have spent on cigarettes and I don't have something that satisfies me yet.I've gotten a lot of fruity type flavors because that's what they carry mostly in the shops only to be disappointed with the outcome. The shops that I've been to do not have a try it before you buy it type thing. Oh how I wish they did because I wouldn't have bought hardly any of them. as far as nicotine level I'm using the 18 or the medium or the 1.8 they're all marked differently but that's what most of them say. I smoked a light cigarette in an aNalog brand.

This may or may not help but I did this:
I started vaping while smoking and tapered of the cigarettes while experimenting.
Unfortunately I had to spend a bit of money starting out to find out what device, accessories, and flavors I like. What I like is going to be different than what others like.
I found that I like the Volcano Inferno and Buck Naked e cigs as my go to devices. For work where I need a small e cig, that fits in my pocket I like the Modern Vapor Sideshow with carts. I have tried other brands but these work best for me. You will get several recommendations but I needed something easy to use.
I have had leaks from every device at least once but the products are made a lot better now.
I tried probably 30 flavors before I found what I like.
I use Buck Naked Banana, Volcano Tobacco, and Modern Vapor Watermelon as my 3 top juices just understand taste is subjective.
One day I realized that I had found my device and flavor combo and I was no longer smoking.
For me it took a little work. I did not set down cigarettes and magically be free. If I could have done that I wouldn't need vapor. But it was so much easier. So based on what I did here is my suggestion:
1. Take advantage of the forums. Everyday vapors will give you better advice on products than advertiser will. Learn what e cigs work and keep it simple. Later you can upgrade as much as you want.
2. Taste test. I had to try a lot before I found out what I liked. I wanted a plain cigarette taste only, but found a few fruit flavors that I actually enjoyed. This was my largest expense but now that I know what I like I can keep cost down.
3. Don't go back to smoking, no matter what.
I realize that this may not be much help but it did work for me and maybe part of it helps you

It did look like that but I went back and got a better top pc.... its a 1.8o bottom coil clearomizer....

Thanks everyone for all of ur help. It's greatly appreciated! I don't want to go back... they stink and they taste like crap. I can't believe that I actually liked them. I have taken a puff or two during this past 3 weeks but today is 3 weeks since I actually put them down. I can't believe how quickly they became so gross to me after stopping.

Anyone else with advice please share. I'm willing to try anything at this point. I think I'm going to do a more extensive search for a vape shop in my area. I think one problem is the places that are close to me that sell these products are cigarette stores not vape stores and they are not set up for someone to try their products. I live in the sticks unfortunately.

When I started vaping about 3 years ago, I was going thru 2.5 PAD, and had been smoking alittle over 52 years. Back then it was a pain in the .... to get anything to work. I couldn't do it with the Cigalikes. Finally ProVari came on the scene. Big batts and larger quantity tanks. . .that's what it took for me to really quit. I can tell you what worked for me. . .but, may not work for you. Thing is. . .don't give up. Keep on trying until you find the combination that will work for you. Lots of people shun the analogs after their first vape. It took me 6 months of "Double Duty", both analogs and vaping before I could go "Solo" ecigs. But, I stuck with it. Feb 6th was my last vape. So, I know firsthand one can quit tobacco using ecigs, then quit ecigs. All you gotta do is wanna bad enough and stick with it. JMHO

Cheers,

The cheapest thing you can try out IMHO is to try putting Kanger EVOD on your eGO. juice will have much better flavor, and no leaking.
As for nausea, I didn't feel any until now, but my friend has some in the beginning and it stopped when he switched to lover nic level.
no matter what you do, don't give up! You will find your best juice and device, it just takes some time.
I have stopped only smoking tobacco "C" everyone recomended me this flavor for begining, now I smoke everything depending on the mood ;-)
And one more thing when I started I had strange fillings in my chest, the PG was the culprit, since when I switched to only VG vaping become real pleasure for me.

The 1.8 ohm coils may be contributing to the burnt taste. For those, you'd need to use a low volt setting, like maybe 3.2-3.4. Next time you go for new atomizer heads, or whatever it is you are using, try for the 2.0-2.4 ohm range. Those can give you a little more wiggle room with the volts setting.

I'd also recommend an evod or protank.

Look and see if you can find a vape shop that will let you taste. Even if you have to make a weekend trip out of it, it's really worth a 1-2 hour drive to be able to taste some liquids. You can definitely waste a lot of money trying this and that juice. If you can't find a vape shop, try finding online vendors that offer small volume sample packs. Some vendors will sell packs of 3-5ml in flavors that you pick. That's enough to give you a good idea of whether you will like it or not. Then when you find a few you like you can order larger amounts.

Nov 21 hasn't past yet. I assume you meant Oct 21st according to your timeline..

Don't give up. I didn't see anyhwere in here about what mg Nic you were using. You may need to up that a little bit....ECF is a great place to come for support.

I have found that this place is like a family of some sort. There is always bickering, disagreements and stuff like that, but when it comes down to it, everyone here will drop whatever drama is at hand to help a fellow human being in need of getting away from cigarettes. I am not or ever have been a cigarette smoker. But these damn things have affected my life. I lost a very dear friend because he could not kick the habit. He quit for a while, but it drew him back in..... Had vaping been mainstream and something I had known about several years ago, he would more than likely still be with us.

when I started I was using an E-go C twist and I loved it because it has the variable voltage and I think this is a great setup for a starter set, if a juice was tasting burnt I turned it down, they aren't crazy expensive and they work really well. I also started with a cigarette flavored juice to help with the cravings. There are a lot of great vaping sites with gear and juices with fair prices. So far I like Mt Baker Vapor for my juice because I can boost the flavor with extra flavor shots. I wish you all the best in this journey and have faith you will find something you like. Don't give up ...you got this! :thumb:

Also I switched to straight VG...wasn't liking the PG at all

If you do like the fruity flavors but you are getting overwhelmed by flavor I would suggest trying a brand that has more delicate flavors. I also like the fruity flavors but, like you, I tend to get overwhelmed quickly by them. I really like some of Alice in Vapeland's juices because they are very delicate/ subtle. This way, I can vape all day if I want to and I wont feel sick.
In the beginning I was vaping CONSTANTLY all day long. I needed that constant reassurance that I was ok without cigarettes. It gets better. I promise. My friends and family would joke that it was my 'bottle' (as in baby bottle). Now I am ok with going a while without vaping. I even forget about it some times!! (I NEVER would have thought this possible!!)
Anyway- you have found the best resource for support and information for vaping. ECF is awesome!! As you can already see, when you have a problem there are many knowledgeable and helpful people here that want to help. Use the forum to help you stay on track.
Just stick with it a bit longer.... it gets a lot easier once you find your 'groove'.
Congratulations on quitting and......
GOOD LUCK!!!!
and remember.... this is all worth it!! The benefits far outweigh any inconveniences that may come with it in the beginning.
