Jackie,
I also started with Blu (Absolute tobacco) due to availabilty. I went into a convenience store to buy a pack of cigs, saw the Blu display and thought I would give it a try. Haven't gone back to analogs, been over a month. I quickly graduated to a ecig with a clearomizer, now an eRoll also. Since I liked the Blu flavor, first juices I ordered were from JC. I like the Domestic and Tennessee Cured, Silverthorne is okay. Next, I got the Halo tobacco sampler base on comments on the forum. Very disappointing. Everything has a perfume tasting undertone. I am trashing them. I am awaiting a sampler pack from Heather Heavenly Vapes. They are NET (Naturally Extracted Tobacco) type. Hoping for something I like. Meanwhile, ordered more JC.

DON'T THROW THEM OUT!!! Often times e-juice needs a chance to "steep" before it has it's true flavor. If you don't like them now, let them sit for a couple of weeks to a month, then try them. If you still don't like them at that point, give them away to a fellow vaper, or trade for another juice that you might like later.

just my :2c:

Just a Note from another NEWBIE

I smoked for 40yrs at between 1-4 pack a day
tried the "BLU" found them lacking
tried a CE4 and 1000mah EGO clone battery with 18 juice
dropped from pack a day to 1/2 in my first week
Raised my NIC to 24 in a tobacco flavor and 2 other "sweet flavored" juices
now down to only a couple of cigs a day(morning)

DO NOT GIVE UP

count your success in cigs NOT smoked

rather than failure and number smoked

This mind set HELPS greatly
this from a stubborn old ex-military man

VAPE ON !!!!!

Jackie NC:

Just give up the smoking. Just give it up. I smoked for 15 years and I decided I was done. Yeah it hurt, and yeah everytime I smell a cig I want one. That's what you'll face the rest of your life and that's the choice that you'll deal with because you decided to start smoking. So either man up and grow a pair and prepare for some suffering, or go back to smoking and die. What's your choice? Harsh? Yes. The truth? Yes.

That said there are some VERY strong and very potent tobacco tastes and you can get more nicotine than you can handle, if you want it. Just gotta try all the tobacco related flavors and a high nic dose like 28 or 36 mg.

I second the steeping.
I too have also purchased e-liquid that tasted like $hi# at first. But instead of tossing, i put them in the back of the cabinet and let them sit awhile. I have also learned to mix up blends as well. Say like mild menthol with butterscotch of a coffee flavor. Sometimes add a bit of vanilla or coconut, or toffee. That's what's fun about it. I hated menthol cigarettes when i smoked, but love vaping it (weird)? If it still doesn't taste right, then i will pour all of it into big bottle marked "Cashe". Which for the most part can sometimes become a mixture of 6 or 7 flavors i didn't like straight or mixed. Shake it up well, Then let it all sit for a long while (3 weeks or more) and steep. Later i will try it, strangely its usually pretty good? But I Never throw any of it away. Your Tastes will change with time while vaping. I usually have 6 or 7 clearo's filled with different blends and i switch them out all day. Just vaping one blend all day will get old and nauseating quickly.

I've got a Protank and a Protank II. Neither of them leak. If the coil floods then i turn up the power until i get a dry hit, but they definitely don't leak and have never leaked, ever !, EVER !. Aga T2 can't leak, in fact no genny can leak can it !. I know what you mean though. It does seem that way to some people. I leave the protanks over night and in the morning they haven't leaked, i don't even get liquid on the battery terminal, i expect it, but it never happens !....:)

Your probably one that practices good maintenance. But yes a geni can and will eventually leak if you don't maintain and change the wick once in a while. I guess I didn't make myself clear when I said leak. What I would consider a leak could also be the accumulation of fluid on the wick that seeps through the air hole and down to the battery. Geni atomizer generally leak through the side air hole while laying down especially when the air holes are drilled out (which I believe most people do).

Like I said before. Good maintenance will keep the fluid where it belongs and you obviously have that down to a science. Beginners may have more issues with it.

Don't down yourself at all because you can do this if you stick with it. The support and knowledge you get from this forum is sure to help. I started out with the cigalikes and athough it helped me quit, I quickly went to the ego style battery with eVOD or ProTank. Look through the Fasttech website and you will surely find something that will take you to the next step. Most of us have been exactly where you are. Hang in there. I never thought after 40 some years of trying to quit, patches, medication etc, that it would ever happen. But vaping changed my life. I never even intended to quit smoking. I just wanted to cut down. I kept cutting down and after a couple months, I didn't want the cigarettes anymore. The vaping was way better tasting. Give yourself time and good luck to you. Ask questions, ask for help and support but most of all ask yourself if you really want to do this. Look forward to reading your posts regarding your success in vaping. :toast:

I would get a cheap vivi nova tank and throw it on your battery...they don't leak! Even on airplanes! It's the only one I bring to work otherwise I end up covered in juice...get some 100% pg juice and you'll get that throat hit I was missing from the stick e cigs...plus a 3.5L tank will last almost all day, even with fairly heavy vaping!

taste is highly personal so I really cant help you there but...
if you are looking to swap over, go to a high nicotine content juice ( 25-36) to curve the desires of the smokes
I also found that the 90%+VG blends work well
Heathers Heavenly Vapes has 2 flavors that replace ciggies Heavenly Army and Legend ( legend being more of a blackberry pipe and Heavenly Army more towards Marlborored...)
the desire to have the ciggies will still be prominent for a while but if you are dilligent, you will prefer the vape

I went from 2 packs a day to 1 pack a week

Thanks, my turkey day was well! How about yourself? I am doing better. I'm currently browsing mods to try to decide which one to buy. Any words of wisdom?

Hi Jackie!

Sorry I missed your post and question! Glad to hear you had a good Thanksgiving. I hope you are still hanging in there! Have you picked out a mod yet? If not, I can highly recommend the iTaste VV3. It is pretty cost effective for the features and reliability. Add a Protank 2 mini (or other tank), some juice, spare coils and you are all set. I don't know what your budget is so I tried to keep my recommendation to the $40-45 mark. If you can afford to spend more I would recommend getting 2 so you have a backup. Try looking at vape dojo for the itaste, it's usually cheapest there and they stand behind their products and customers. I can't figure out how to add a link in Tapatalk, so you will have to Google it.

HTH!
