I, this Saturday, got turned on to e-cigs at the kiosks by SE. Yes, I paid too much. So what? I didn't know about this product, very few people do. And I am grateful simply for the information. Heres the thing, is an introduction to a product that can eventually save my health, lots of money etc worth a few extra bucks? Hell yeah!
I don't regret it one bit.
I'll tell you this, the kid that turned me on to the e-cig gave me five extra packs of carts-for free, gave me a bit of a price break and encouraged me to go online. I didn't get what he was saying at the time, but I did go online and found this forum.
So I think you can get away with telling people "hey if you like the experience, join an online community and get the best experience possible.
I look at my SE experience in the same light as when I used to sell guitars. Some introductory guitars are pure crap. But they get people playing, help them enter the world of music, and ignites the passion. I did my best to make it so, while still selling to pay the rent. People always came back to me when they needed an upgrade.
If you look at any job, there is a ethical price. From the medical business, to office jobs, to service jobs...we all rape the planet, take advantage of third world resources, etc. I wish for a day when we no longer do, but in the meantime everything made and sold has a negative consequence somewhere along the way... sell cars? your depleting a resource and polluting the environment. Are you a bank customer? You just put money in the hands of people who finance the war machine and buy govt influence, sell burgers? Your killing animals....
So take the job, turn people on to the forum, see it as an introductory price of admission to a better future for these people.... and cut them some slack when you can...
Good luck, I hope you find work that rewards you....
