Hello Everyone, thirty year smoker here about four months into vaping. Nice forum you have here, hope to learn more and work together to help more people get off the cancer sticks. I am using a Vamo with one of the new Evod tanks, vaping some of my DIY sugarcookie mix at 5V.

I started with 24mg strength as I was smoking about two packs on 100's for very long time. Moved down to to 18mg after about a month and now trying to switch to 12mg, well, some days are better than others

Dropping nic 33% is tough, and it seems to get tougher the lower you go. For me 2 mg was the wall, I just couldn't hold it. That's what got me into DIY mixing. 1 drop of 18 plus one drop of 12 = 2 drops of 15. It was easier for me to step down that way, Currently at 5 mg, started (this time) at 10mg. (1/2 to 3/4 pad of lights) It's playing hell with my Blood pressure, which is a big problem for me, but I've decided to increase my meds temporarily to stay at this level of Nic.

I don't know why the standard formulas are based on 3, It makes the math much more difficult. Currently, I mix up a batch of 10mg nic unflavored and a batch of 0 nic unflavored, then I mix them to get to my desired level of nic. I assume a flavor additive of 10%. So I actually only mix up 9 mils instead of 10, then add 1 mil of various flavors. That way I'll be able to cut it 10% at a time, which seems do able.

Good luck, I really think this can work for us.

Knowing how little willpower I actually have, I took it real slow. Started vaping about two years ago, using 24 mg. That was a good starting point, coming from a pack a day. Lots of cravings at first, and it took me several weeks to finally break completely of free of "real" tobacco. Started working downwards gradually, still experiencing occasional cravings for quite a long time.

Now I'm at 6 mg and no longer feel the urge for a "real" cigarette any more. This is a nice comfort zone to be in, and I'm probably just about ready to start mixing my way down to zero. But it took a while to get here.

Give it time, dude. After 30 years, there's no hurry. I smoked for close to 15 years, and hard a rough time when I first started stepping down the concentration after completely giving up tobacco and switching to the vaporizer 100%. You're already way ahead of where I was, and if 12 mg ain't doing the trick for you right now, just stick it on the shelf and come back to it in six months. Vaping is supposed to be an enjoyable experience, not a trial of will.

Juice is cheap, failure isn't.

I agree, juice is cheap ..well.. at least for now. I notice that I don't crave the nic as much as I used to when I go 4-5 hours without a vape. Who knows what else was in those cigs that made me crave them so badly.

I look forward to being where you are at now.

That is quite a drop when you put it like that:ohmy:. I have been doing some of my own mixing so I don't think it will tough to reduce the 60mg base to that level. I will check the juice calc, but I think it's 2.5ml instead of 3ml in the 10ml bottle i make.

Thanks for the information.
