My Reo family continues to grow. My SL LP should be here in the next few days. It'll go along with my OG Grand, Mini 2.1 and my Woodvill. Here's the thing...I'm debating on letting go of the Woody. It's not that I don't love it, I do. The finish, weight and performance are top notch as with all of Rob's work. I'm just not sure it fits me. Give me your thoughts, Reonauts! I've been waffling for a week and need to put my mind to rest.

I always wanted a Woodvil. I finally got one and......it just wasn't for me. I love my metals and the ability to run them under the tap for their weekly bath. With the Woody, I was too afraid I would get it dirty. I loved it and it vaped great but again, I just realized that it wasn't for me so I sold it back to its loving owner. (We consider that she just went on Spring break). At least I got rid of my Woodvil 'must have' and now I just buy more metal REO's. :)

That's about where I'm at. My concern over it getting dirty/scratched/wet, and the simple fact it's bigger than a standard Reo has me debating.

I'm terribly afraid that's exactly what would happen to me. I love my SLs and would not trade for a woodville but I am a minority in that thought. I say wait until you have used the SL for a week and then decide.

It's kind of funny. I couldn't wait to get a Woodvil. Not for me. I didn't really care for the SL's but got an SL/LP and I love it. I love the feel of the SL!

It's funny...I had many metal Reos..now I have only the woods and I love them to pieces! I,too, when I had just the one , and then two, was wary of them not being indestructible like the metals and I'm lazy and didn't want the extra work of keeping then oiled and so on.

I now have NO metal Reos and five woods:D And I'll get another one in the next wood sale.

So, if you don't really need the money to sell it, I'd personnally keep it, at least for a while longer. If you decide somewhere down the road that you want to sell it, don't put yourself thru the stress of the classies or anything...

just PM me..I'll
take it off your hands, no fuss no muss...

:D

Bottom line. When at home do you use it or do you default to using one of the metal ones? If used it to fund another Grand or Mini would that get used more. And will this answer change in the cold months when you inside more?

I've got 5 woods and three metals and use them all. Mods I don't use for more than a month are sold or given away.

So how do you rate the Woodvil compared to your Kaji Ali'i?

They're similar in some ways, different in others. I've tried the Ali'i and have 3 MonkeyBoxx's. At the end of the day, Rob's design is head and shoulders better.

For me, I think the conundrum is in appearance. The quarter sawn oak with wenge door is excellent, but I find myself looking at darker woods when pre-shopping Woodvil's. Koa, black palm and walnut all are at the top of my list.

I will own Woodvil's, that's decided. I'm just not certain if this one will be in the collection long term.

Sounds like you have answered your own question. Sometimes a particular wood either calls out to us or it doesn't. On the last sale night I ended up with a few toooo many woodies and I ended up letting two of them go to other faithful Reonauts. One of the woods I let go is on my list for the next sale. I don't regret letting it go to someone who wanted a wood but if it is ever up for sale I will kick, scream and knock someone out for it…..lol

That's what I'm thinking. For those who order on release day, how difficult is it to successfully snipe one? Assuming that I've followed Rob's release info. That's probably the biggest thing holding me back: not knowing how difficult it will be to get another.

Hard to say really…There seem to be more and more people converting to REO's. Sale night is a bit crazy or at least it was for me and my first sale experience. Chances are good that you can get something but it may not be your 1st or 2nd choice.
