Hi guys

My apologies if this has been done. Can't get the search function to help me out.

I'm using an eGo (standard, not a tank)

Have had a reduction in flavour this afternoon, slightly increased burned taste, and then just took a drag and it was disgusting - burned and awful, almost like when there is still primer in it (there's not, it's been used for ages). Does this mean my atty has died? I've got 3 that I cycle through, (for the past month) and I guess I don't really know when an atty has passed its used by date, or how long they should last.

Can anyone tell me if that's what it is? And if so, do I chuck the atty, or can it be revived?

Thanks heaps.

technically it's not 'dead' until the coil breaks completely. But, the atties tend to build up a hard black residue over time, possibly the wick burning, and possibly leftovers that have a higher vaporizing point.
This residue really does not like to come off. Some people dry burn (holding it on without vaping it for a while to let the residue burn off), but that can and will burn most wicking materials commonly used. You can boil it in water for 10-20 minutes, which will help the taste for a little bit, but it won't remove the residue.
Or if considering it dead there are two options, throw it out, or open it up and rebuild it. There are other posts on how to rebuild, it takes about 45 minutes the first times, but that can be reduced to 10-15 minutes with practice.
