yeah i always put all my individual things inside sandwich bags inside the quart size bag. i'm taking a pack of pre-filled cartos and a bottle of juice. still would love to hear from anyone who has taken the ce3s on the plane itself... or do they look too weird for TSA??? maybe i'll skip it and stick to pre filled..... yeah, that's probably right. i can handle it. just LOVING the CE3s so much though! (got them yesterday)

I asked the TSA agent if E-Cigs were ok and he said yes. I think by now most have seen them.

I don't think it makes much of a difference if the CE3 is in your pocket or in your luggage. If you've ever gotten one of those bags of potato chips that is so puffed out it's ready to pop, you can imagine what the pressure differential can do to a pressure sensitive device like a CE3.

All I can say is "if you want dry pockets...DON'T DO IT". All 6 of mine leaked, none were dry. I will never make that mistake again and will in the future transport them empty and fill a couple of cartos to get me by until I can fill them up after landing.

I guess the relatively rapid change in pressure on a flight is too much for a CE3 to handle. Since they really aren't sealed in the traditional sense that isn't too surprising. I wonder how the TSA feels about blunt tipped syringes?

That's another thing I wouldn't try to bring onboard. I kept my syringe safely tucked away in my suitcase.

You're right, they aren't a sealed system. When you think about how a CE3 works and the rapid changes in cabin air pressure during takeoff and landing, it's understandable to see how the bubble of air inside will want to expand and push some juice out. If it's enough to make my ears pop, it's enough to upset the equilibrium needed for a properly functioning CE3.

It seems to me a CE3 would only leak when the cabin pressure decreases, and only if liquid is surrounding the wick holes. I'll bet it wouldn't leak if you had it upside down in your shirt pocket. :2c:

If you think it's worth risking a pocket full of goo...give it a try and report back to us :D

An empty bottle, closed during a commercial flight with a cabin altitude of around 8,000 ft, is crushed by the pressure at ground level after descent

Honestly? Like I said the TSA is a bunch of numbnuts.

"Federal officials say the smoke grenade is prohibited on board passenger aircraft, but the hatchet, knives, clubs and other items authorities found in Harris' luggage don't violate Transportation Security Administration guidelines for what can be carried in checked bags.

Most like you could plug the coil end and it wouldn't leak either..Small flexible plastic cap or an eraser may work.

I tried putting condoms on for transport in my pocket, but without a hole in the end of the condom it caused a little (couple of dropps) of leaking due to the pressure.

I suppose you can design a condom with a hole similar to the inner seal with a one way valve that will allow no pressure buildup when installing it on the CE3...but now we're getting into silly territory.

Yup trying to think of something quick and easy. If you are going that route, it would be easier to empty them prior to getting on the plane. Unless you are looking to stealth vape. When I checked on that they said they treat them as a cigarette. No vaping on a plane.

Which I can see... Others may not want to smell smoke... Others may not want a big waft of caramel.. Just the vapor plume itself others may not want. I just wish the would extend it to the metro males that take a bath in cologne and the women that think dumping a bottle of perfume on them is cool.

Okay - i do not know if this information will help you or not . . . However, for anyone that is interested in knowing . . . I fly every 5 weeks and in "My" carry on bag - I take the Smokeless Image Meg PCC with 2 78 batteries & 6 additional cartomizers, 1 Volt X2 1300 w/charging cable, at least 6 different sample bottles & two 5ml filled with "Nicquid", 1 small bottle of Liquid Menthol Crystals, and a pack of Smokeless Image Cartomizers all in a "Zume PDA" Carry case that I customized for all "My" Smokeless Image Stuff (Oh Yea - there is also a few SI business cards too ;)). Also, I bring along another carry case that has a 5V "APV" with Atomizer/Drip tips, Pack of SI cartomizers and another 2 bottles of "Nicquid" . . . So far nothing has leaked - however, I have found "Nicquid" on the outside of the cartomizers under the condoms occasionally . . . Also, as I have mentioned before, I have not had a problem yet with TSA, except for a "hick-up" once when a New TSA "Trainee" questioned the batteries and was told by the supervisor what they were . . . :D

Sounds like you travel prepaired :D

Like you, my bottles of juice and my cartomizers made it through without leaking.
My full CE3 did leak though.
